I don't think we can call Libra as a cryptocurrency. We may call it blockchain based platform money. Yes it is backed by Blockchain but there is no algorthym behind it. In crypto world, anything that is centralized and can be controlled by a single entity is not a cryptocurrency no matter its using cryptography and blockchain technology. |

Don't think that normal businesses have no fraud, they also steal hundreds of millions, banks do it, businesses of all types do it, investment businesses do it. Just because the headlines are like that for crypto it doesn't mean it only happens here. There is MASSIVE fraud out there not involving crypto, billions and billions of dollars, if we knew the real figure it would make the 1.2b seem like dust.
You are right, frauds are in every business be it a fiat currency or cryptocurrency. 1.2Billion in one quarter means around 5 billion per annum and this is not a big figure if compared with market volume of cryptocurrency. |

If you are new to BTC or crypto trading, my sincere advice is never to buy in the current bullish market rather wait for the dip. Secondly, never jump with huge capital straight away in the beginning, start will small amount and only invest huge capital if you are confident enough.

My Vote after BTC is for Ethereum, as its still most undervalued altcoin in the market. NEO (the Chinese ethereum) is also a good option for investment. P.S I highly recommend to DYOR before investing in any coin. Dont follow what others suggest, as no one will share your loss. |

I will rate Gold higher then BTC at this moment from investment perspective because of Gold is not tied to fiat systems; fiat systems were tied to gold until governments decoupled en masse during the great world wars of the 20th century. the main reason is about applicable regulations. and both visa, paypal, and others, they certainly won't let this work. if bitcoin can be used, they will lose huge profits. so even when all countries have accepted and legalized bitcoin, not necessarily e-commerce like big like amazon, ebay will use it.
I do agree that primary reason why big merchants like Amazon are not moving to BTC are regulations. Governments all around the world will only allow crpto in there regime if they are under there control i.e. regulated. Moreover, too much price fluctuations is another reason of not accepting BTC. |

I believe there are some people in the community who are in the standpoint that "Bitcoin isn't successful" unless they can use it for "almost-zero fee" coffee transactions. But is it truly a failure?
A piece of code that is currently trading at 10,000 USD is surely not a failure. I agree with members saying here that we have to wait for a while for BTC adoption rate to go up and with that surely its fee will also go down. |
