Apparently everybody knows what vega is capable in regards mining, i would like to share experience in redeeming game code... the process is real joke. Once you will get to amd rewards site, you will be required to sign up, providing your email, name phone# etc, then you will get 2 codes one via email (real long one) and another one via text, you will need to input that on same page, once you will receive them and submit, after submission, you will get another code that you will use after you will sign up to steam... and them you will get your game code (yep, another one). ONE. i dont know know how they choose which one out of 2 games offered, but you will get only one, for another game you will be offered to buy it at full price. Was about to get games for my nephew but after this whole process... i couldn't get the game he wanted, i said just screw it. In store they said you get 2 games - YOU DONT.
P.S. VEGA64 is not impressive on mining at all, counting the fact that PC eats, at the wall, on stock settings between 300-400W when mining.

if electricity included and the harmed that it will cause to my computers - electricity, yes. - it wont do any harm unless you will be overclocking or use it outside of specification requirements.
how much it drain ? - a lot. I got VEGA64 to play with and out the wall, on stock settings, pc eats 300(min)-390W(peak) when mining various coins, wattage will change slightly depending on miner/algo it does.

Manufacturers are now (finally) adding warranty void clauses for using gaming hardware for mining as well so keep that in mind - there is no way for them prove its been used for mining, so i call it BS

even though 1080 handles power and speeds/overclock swimmingly- the compute units on 1080ti makes a big difference. Sounds like improper ground wiring. make sure you are using grounded outlet and both psu's share same ground, better yet, you can connect them with wire to equalize potential difference.
p.s. ground and neutral - are not the same.

i agree, 280/290 are making more sense, if you have chea electricity, otherwise 10XX SERIES. Nvidia may actually pull the trigger on Christmas with Volta and if AMD will not have any response they will fall 2 gens behind.... doh! I lost my hope for VEGA completely by now. Our most popular pc part store had like 5 cards total since they went on sale, this is retarded, curious why amd did not start collecting prepaid orders ahead of time, war on miners sounds like bs to me.

be a million "doesn't work on windoze" - i dont think windoze people will be using it for mining... this is more pro miner grade... as electricity bill for home...will go directly north! as well as price for vids, too costly.

In some bioses there is an option for MULTI MONITOR SUPPORT - make sure you will enable that one too. If you have PCIE GEN option that says AUTO, i would leave it unchanged.

Can you rephrase your question... i have two of these cards and they work flawlessly on both z170 and z97.

Thanks. Just looke around for this tuf mark 2 board and some people apparently had troubles with running more than 4 cards on it...we may give this 270 board a try. Theoretically 270 has no significant improvements from 170 except, 4 more pciex lanes, optane support and more supported cpu's, but perhaps 4 additional pcie lanes are doing the trick. I was very curious if anyone had good luck mining on msi power max - board looks very solid and has 7 pcie slots...it aso costed quite a bit when introduced, so i would assume it has real nice bios options, current price is also attractive. Has real nice power regulation circuit onboard...

A friend of mine asked me if can advise him on motherboard choice, that will work with 6+ cards, i am not familiar with majority of boards and cant advise him on this, perhaps someone from this forum can... here is the list:
GIGABYTE GA-Z170X-UD3 ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING ASUS TUF Z270 MARK 2 MSI Z170A GAMING M7 MSI Z87 POWER MAX
It will be nvidia miner with 6 cards at least. thanks

i was gonna ask same question about resizing that window...

I will prefer to buy gtx then vega card. - thats exactly where it is all is heading to... this amd policy is beyond my understanding, of course i dont have much info, but it looks pure stupid to me right now, many will turn to nvidia...and wont come back.
There ya go AMD... 2 out 3 of my clients switched to nvidia 1080ti JUST BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT GET VEGA TODAY, what a great beginning!
If it's such a horrible card-how the heck did it get sold out in 15 mins? - speculators - artificial(?)or real shortage - amd dumb policy to keep miners (and gamers) away, so they can go and buy NVIDIA .............LULLZ
Just checked ebay, one dude posted receipt of morning purchase from Microcenter... sells it for $1050
I have a feeling, that once AMD will realise that nobody wants those cards... they will change their policy of " ...not having miners in perspective..." if they wont, it will be a HUGE failure to address market needs. I have a few clients who wanted vega today... talked to them they said they are considering just buying 1080ti cards...

So i went to our local store to grab one... Sales person said they had only 4 (!!!) and they got sold out immediately first thing. This is retarded. Its either AMD doesn't have enough supply again or they truly against miners, which will ph_ck them up big deal. Sales person said they will have 4 cards each day for the next month or two and you wont be able to reserve or order them online, only in store and in person and with printed out page with SKU# (Microcenter)

Its hard to believe no info as of yet. Where all the "ones" who wannabe first?
