61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPUC] GPU Coin on: March 10, 2014, 04:34:05 AM
Just as an aside, Either the CEO paid atomic-trade to list GPUCoin or he himself is trading there but there have been sizable orders up since b4 any blocks matured.

waltsmith

Atomic trade lists just about anything new so that might not be the case.

Not true so quit with the FUD, HVY and GPU are new but otherwise its not a pick up crap coin site like the rest the coins have to have a unique aspect with this coin it is the storefront. With HVC its the algo and the voting. So know your information before you spread garbage around.

Here is a little fact though Bittrex had to pay the devsso they could have "exclusive" on the coin because Bittrex isn't getting the volume it needs to sustain and that is why after weeks AT is still not listed on the front page.

keccak512, we need your answer about the exchange things? espicially the plan with 100.000$ you make with IPO.
This is what people missing to ask before they make IPO, what is your plan with 100.000$?
Will you spend 5 BTC for voting on cryptsy?
...

I would guess there not be an answer anytime soon. A coin is only as strong as it's community. While its listed on 3 exchanges the people need to rally to other exchanges and push for it. How is that the devs issue? You guys treat them like some magical entity.

Be thankful some exchanges grabbed it out the door or it could be like one of the dozens of coins not traded anywhere at all or are fighting tooth and nail to get up the voting tree.

Everything has been going great at CryptoALTeX, we haven't had a single ticket in over 2 days. *knock on wood*

www.cryptoaltex.com

I saw some people talking about the other exchange and about whether or not they are legit.  CryptoALTeX has officially been accepted by the state of Colorado as an LLC and we will be updating information on the site soon when all the paper work is final.

We will also be announcing a voting system soon that will allow for 2 coins being listed each week.  One which gets the most support and another that will be chosen at random, stay tuned for details on how it will work Smiley

Are you referring to atomic trade or CCEX? Atomic trade is very transparent about its legals.

Atomic-Trade.com is owned and operated by Atomic Trade, LLC..
Atomic Trade, LLC. A New Jersey Limited Liability Corporation.
New Jersey Business# 0400612660

Oh and hows your account security compare? You keep your wallets on or off server also? Or are you hackable like most all the other exchanges out there?

I don't think you are going to get very far if you don't learn to read previous posts.  Someone was questioning the security of ccex and I was responding.  You then go on to insult me and my security yet you know nothing about me or my security practices.  CryptoALTeX front end does not touch a single table that the engine uses and anything done on the front end is then audited before its entered into the backend.  The webserver has 0 ability to connect to the wallet servers.

You then say "are you hackable" which basically says that you are not hackable which is one of the worst things you can say working in this or any industry that requires info sec.  Anything is hackable unless its unplugged and then it can still be taken by a thief.

You also post a security scan which means absolutely nothing, nobody should be placing a website online that does not pass those tests.  Hackers use many tools to get in and the majority of times on the big data breaches its the people that they breach not the process or technical tools.

Since you were so brazen I will let you in on what my credentials are but I will also say that no matter what my security credentials are that no way means your exchange is more secure than mine or mine is more secure than yours, it all comes down to who is attacking and how they do it.  That's security 101.  This crypto industry needs to get rid of the sites that aren't following good security practices, its bad for everyone.  I force 2factor authentication because even one user being breached and spreading crap on the internet is bad for our industry.  Anyways.

I have 17 year of IT experience, I started coding and networking when I was 15 years old. I have a bachelors in computer network and data comm, i have an associates in programming and database processing, I have a masters degree in Information Assurance, I'm a CISSP, CCNA Security, MCSE Security, VCP4/5 and a few other irrelevant things.

I have not once attacked your exchange and I was actually impressed you offer USD.  I currently work for a private payment card processor that is getting ready to IPO, valued @ billions of dollars.  I'm a Senior Security Engineer and I live and breath PCI, ISO, SOX, etc.

After losing money at poloniex I get paranoid and that is why I asked if referring to which exchange. I was not attacking you I just  wanted a little more information. Yes everything can be hacked period however it comes down to the steps to at least prevent attacks or slow them down. I am not trying to get into some my dick is bigger then yours just wanted to know if you are going to be transparent and secure. Maybe put some info in your company info tab fill in the people to allow for greater trust. I have used your site and have not had a issue with it I know it was a little rocky there with BC in the beginning but CryptoAltEx has shaped up nicely.

So I do apologize if I came off abrupt. Like many people they like to know they are safe and secure when using sites and lets be honest there are a few around that are very shady.

How secure are you? wheres the company info page? are you a legal entity?

All I see is a site that was thrown up a while back and and puts liability onto the users.

There is no form of protection for a user when you have 0 company info listed, you could gox people easy you could have what happened to poloniex. Show your accountability and maybe I would trade over there otherwise  your site is just a giant gamble, and while I am sure seedy people may use it based on the lack on info needed to to transfer USD.

So you may have it but I think you just cater to money launders.

They are legit.

Saying they are and providing proof is a whole other story.

Hi I'm Satoshi.

Doesn't make it true now does it.

Holy Molly, the price is so, ugh...unattractive for me. Got only 13 HVC in a 24 hours. And this is only 33 cents. Or I am wrong?

That sounds about right.. And thanks for the two guys who repsonded to me with the exchange info! I had figured the price would be crap since even I was able to mine so much. But it's not bad I'm not complaining. The only thing I wonder is if the price will stay like this or fall sharply soon.. A lot of new coins are priced high but after everyone starts moving their coins to the exchanges and selling the price tends to fall a lot.. just look at all the new coins that have started they usually never hold the price they start off at. LOL I wish I could short like stock trading I'd short every new crypto there is.

comes down to the community of a coin if they have services the coins value stays higher if there isn't even petty gambling sites then the coin flops harder. There has to be a gimmick to it.

Get this coin on larger exchanges? You say that like we are already on exchanges lol are we on any? I voted on cryptsy.. I like this coin because I can get a lot of it even with limited hardware so if I could get so much then I only imagine what everyone else is doing.. So I think the price of this coin might be pretty cheap but I'll mine it along side my gpu.

Yes its on exchanges 1 is https://www.atomic-trade.com/trade?c=HVC&p=BTC

Finding the devs lazy to update the front page info is all

wow bittrex is slow, it won't even load the market pages. Is it getting DoS'd?? I hope they fix it

www.atomic-trade.com/ has GPU/BTC pairings has since GPU launched don't go to bittrex they paid the devs to be able to list it which just means they are desperate.

At least Atomic trade is a legal US business and no you do not need ot be verified to trade on the site unless you want the USD pairings

It's a big SCAM! Why don't the creators of this this coin set a price for the gpu's x coins before they hit the exchanges that way the value of each coin is already set. think about it for a minute... price per coin already set and when it hits the exchanges no problem. otherwise we are mining for what? they could end up telling us you will need ten thousand coins for just one 270x where as I'm only mining 5 coins a day with 3x 280x's. I don't get. or is it only me that see's this?Huh  Huh

Market will dictate value ofthe coin not the devs doesn't matter what they say, also you will be mining a lot more then lthat soo nenough.

Now a smart miner would want to hold the value around 1 dollar a coin so they can mine moer coins and get more gpus for mining rinse repeat. However since most people only want a quick buck the price will drop and in two weeks it could take 1 million to buy a gpu or could take a billion which no one will have. Even though there are billions of coins all it could do is force inflation on the value of BTC making it rise against the gpu coin. SO long as people want to buy  GPUs with it.

So again smart thing out the door everyone would need to hold the value around 1 USD +- 5% or allow a natural rise.

Comapany would have to sell gpus against the USD for the coin real simple.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 09, 2014, 05:33:30 PM

Liquidity helps price a lot. The more places the coin is listed, the more exposure and the more opportunities people have to buy/sell. Listing on one exchange means that exchange dictates the price and that's not something you want. You want forces in the marketplace to dictate that based on buy/sell quantity and price that is distributed evenly among exchanges.

I understand that however it is still not worth paying your way on to a site, if it can not get on a site by its uniqueness and merit then it doesn't need to be on a site, why pay the exchange, that's all you do when you throw BTC at it.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [HVC] Heavycoin - CPU-only, Ultra-secure, Decentralized Voting on: March 09, 2014, 05:25:34 PM

Its on two exchange why pay to get on more, I mean seriously why waste money to bribe your way on. Its like the ultimate idiocy.

Just a reminder https://www.atomic-trade.com/trade?c=GPU&p=BTC is trading GPUcoins.

Not sure why the dev doesn't list it on the front page.

It looks like you need to get verified just to trade there. Which is kinda lame.

Only need to be verified to trade in USD otherwise its the same as any other exchange

A few more services and I will poke Bryon at www.atomic-trade.com and see if he will pick it up, even though this is a clone it is a unscathed one that has potential. It also had a nice launch compared to the scam coin HEX that launched at the same time that everyone tried to get on the bandwagon for.

So 1-2 more games of chance and I will gladly talk to him about it.
