62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why ICOs fail on: January 30, 2019, 06:55:44 PM
I really do think the one at the top of the list of why ICOs fail is because of the amount of ICOs available on the market at the moment. Investors are often spoilt for choice and this leads them to picking only the very best. This leads to my second reason which is "the quality of the product offered". Due to stiff competition between ICOs right now, only the very best get all the attention. Another reason is poor marketing. There is absolutely no way your ICO will succeed if it's not put in public view. Simply put, people need to know about the project before considering investing. Uniqueness is also key, you can't offer the same use case with a previous ICO and expect to earn rave views.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Token price dropping after ICO, why so? on: January 30, 2019, 06:25:51 PM
This is something had never baffled me because I have a logical reason for dumps after ICOs. However, one thing that baffles me is that everyone tends to blame bounty hunters for those dumps when it truth they never get more than 2% of the tojens available for sale. The question is "how can that small a percentage have such great effect on proceedings". The logical reasoning is that dumps are largely caused by presale investors who have a lot to invest and could even get as much as 50% bonus. If some of them decide to dump, you can only begin to imagine the adverse effect this has on the market price of the tokens.

65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Future of Blockchain and Crypto on: January 29, 2019, 07:57:35 PM
I absolutely do not think there should be anything to wonder about regarding the future of blockchain technology. It is a known fact that the technology is still firmly rooted in it's infant and the whole process of gaining widespread adoption will definitely take a while. The only good news is that people in several parts of the world are spurning project almost everyday looking to improve the applications of blockchain technology in our everyday life. I cannot exactly say the same about cryptocurrencies though as this still largely splits opinion. The only thing I hope for is a time when I can seamlessly use cryptocurrencies for transactions.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should We Trust Blockchain ? on: January 29, 2019, 07:44:08 PM
I think we are actually have some things mixed up here. Blockchain in itself cannot be hacked and executed activities cannot be modified or reversed. That is to say, the technology is as secure as you can hope for. The security concern we really do have with cryptocurrency exchange platforms is not actually about blockchain technology itself. These exchange platforms often use $iffering ways to secure their exchanges. This directly means that hackers can find their way around security measures on exchange platforms and help themselves to the funds of users.

The problem is simply with the exchange platforms and not with blockchain technology.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does Bitcoin price affect ICOs on: January 28, 2019, 08:44:09 PM
This is one thing I can say I am relatively sure about. As long as it is in the crypto market then the price of bitcoin will definitely affect it. Price of ICOs generally trend in the direction Bitcoin is going. That is the exact reason why ICOs are not making a lot of money or fetching investors the desired profit. Until the price of Bitcoin hits an upward trend, I don't think that ICOs will do too well. The best thing is to have some tokens that can fetch you a tidy profit when the bull hits. We could all  do with some profit after a while.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Don't be discouraged, things are going to change! on: January 28, 2019, 08:38:03 PM
Yeah, your post is true for most part. I totally agree that almost everyone who had some for of investment from 2017 is surely deep in the red now. The truth still remains, as much as we wallow in our tears, there are people out there still maki6good bucks. I think this largely depends on orientation. People really need to understand that there's money to be made both in bull and bear market. That is not to say we should not start investing if there is still some cash to spare. The bear market will definitely still pass on by.

There is no way I'm ignoring the fact that the market is poised to recover, that is what my sight is set on.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ MASSIVE REWARDS] Pre-Trade Mining of ProBit Token (PROB) on: January 28, 2019, 08:19:50 PM
"Trade mining" is a term I'm not very familiar with but I absolutely love the concept. From the little I know thus far, both parties stand to gain a lot. The founders get to save some extra cost on mining and the traders get rewarded for doing what they love. It's a win win in my opinion.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ProBit Korea (KRW Exchange) Grand Opening on: January 28, 2019, 08:14:45 PM
Thanks for this info. I've actually heard a lot about probit recently and I believe that's not some form of hype. Projects that seek to act as a bridge between cryptocurrencies and fiat really do have a special place in my heart.

I really cannot wait to see how much of a success this will turn out to be.

72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: do we still have hope to be able to see bull run?? on: January 27, 2019, 05:35:39 PM
I really believe nothing is sure in the world of finance. We could sit here and keep waiting for a bull run that might never come. Many predictions were looking towards January and Ethereum hardforks but there's nothing up till now. My simple advice is that you shouldn't fix your gaze solely on the bull run. A good cryptocurrency trader should know that there is money to be made in any market condition. If the bull run comes, there is no better time than now to stash your bags with tokens which have enormous potential to moon. Buy low and sell high, that's what the market is about.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid ICO scam. on: January 27, 2019, 05:29:06 PM
There is no absolute way to avoid ICO scam. The best we can do is carry out a thorough research before investing. Your research could start from reading the whitepaper to see if the team have a true product that they are looking to offer or if their ideas are truly conceivable. The next step should be looking at the profile of team members on different social media platforms to confirm how legit they are. I also like to check out the social media presence of the project, this just goes to show how committed the team is to seeing their idea to fruition. The summary of it all is that you should do a thorough research.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is product important for a project? on: January 27, 2019, 05:23:16 PM
Absolutely, humans naturally like to see something working or at least a conceivable prototype before looking to invest. I am not saying that idea behind the project does not matters, but most of the time the team developers just say anything and making high claims about their project. The authenticity of such claims is ensured by looking into their product. One must ensure that does their product seem to have the potential they are claiming to the public. In future there will just be the coins which provide actual utlity to its users rather than just fake promises and dates. I personally look out for projects that seem independent of the ICO to invest in.

76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth buying low-volume tokens? on: January 26, 2019, 06:36:51 PM
I really believe this depends on your appetite for risk taking. It's a known fact that those who take the most calculated risks are always at the top of the food chain when it comes to wealth. I think volume is not a principal factor when judging how valuable a token could become. This is because most of the exchange platforms we use even have fake volumes at one time or the other and also because the circulating volume at that point could be low due to the amount of locked up tokens. The only advice I have is that you should look more towards the problem solving capacity of the project in question. If you judge right, it's just a matter of time before the volume you desire comes by.

77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICOs are a legit or Scam? on: January 26, 2019, 06:25:42 PM
Pretty interesting question but one I would not exactly ask if I were in your shoes. It is similar to asking if financial institutions are scam, the answer could be Yes, No or inconclusive. Some institutions exist to rip you off and some are truly concerned about the welfare of their customers but the realistic answer is that they all tend to withhold some truth about how they operate. There are definitely legit ICOs and others which simply intend to scam people. It becomes your responsibility as an investor to truly do your research about an ICO which you intend to invest in. You can check out the whitepaper, the team and even the social media presence.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will cryptocurrencies be able to use for payment? on: January 26, 2019, 06:17:43 PM
I think the question here should have been, "Will cryptocurrencies ever be fully accepted as a means of payment? ". I had to rephrase the question because there are a number of businesses that have started accepting cryptocurrencies for payment of goods and services. I am of the opinion that cryptocurrencies have really come a long way in 10 years. Widespread adoption should not be spoken of as if it can happen in days, these processes actually do take time.

I personally cannot wait for that time when I will be able to leverage on all the advantages offered by cryptocurrencies including a cost effective payment system.
