61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin intelligence thread on: January 14, 2017, 07:17:22 PM
So this isn't about altcoin artificial intelligence, more like an intelligence briefing?

If we are going to do covert ops, first thing we need is an acronym. You can't do anything until you have one. AIB sounds cool(Altcoin Intelligence Bureau). Or maybe the DIA(Decentralized Intelligence Agency).

Actually, the DIA sounds really cool. I have copyrights to DIA, no one touch.

Why were my movie uploads rejected?

Was I supposed to leave them seeding for the five days no one could watch them because they were pending?

It's kind of frustrating when there is no place to get in contact with you, or to know when my submissions are going to actually be looked at, or even the reason why it was rejected.

I resubmitted some of them but I think I might just forget about doing it since I feel like I won't be able to get accepted unless I have a seedbox.

Quite likely due to wrong format, encoding, etc. needless to say they weren't working when they were tested and such denied from the moderator queue. When we release our first big upgrade as in not the one coming this Sunday, but later on I can include something where the moderator denying your submission has to leave some form of feedback be it some pre-defined options or a custom text message so the user at least knows why it was rejected from the index.

Also, if the content isn't seeding then when we test playing them before approving it obviously won't play which then we have no way of validating what you submitted is actually what you say it is, etc.

Ok. I did stop seeding them as it was taking a while to get them approved and I only started using the app to seed them recently. I'll leave them up for a while longer this time. And I do know they are mp4 format and work because I can play them from the link in my torrent manage page. I was wondering if you could change a submission from rejected to approved as I can still play them from their linked page if I'm seeding. Or should I just upload them again?

The way I'm looking at this project, won't it be illegal in some countries to visit the site, I just want to know if I need to use VPN just to protect myself from any possible legal issue

Yes, in some areas they recommend a vpn. Probably not any time soon since it's too early for it to be on anyone's list yet, but in a few months to a year, definitely.

Whats up with yobit. Still no addition Huh

We all waiting. I actually need to pick up a few more vidz because of how much it sold. I promised myself I'll hold 1m vidz and now I'm under, wanna sell me some using escrow. Willing to pay ico price+2%.

Offer is open to anyone.

Add a few zeros and we can talk.

And its foolish of you to think anyone will sell you around the ico price because it was a way undervalued ico and everyone knows it.

When it hits the exchanges it wont be long before its at a 400 btc market cap.

You do the math.

I realize I wont get it at 2% so I'll up my offer to 5% but I'm holding firm on that. I don't think you'll see 100's of % gains in the first few days but this is crypto so I suppose anything is possible but probably wont happen. Will you sell me some for 5% and I cover escrow costs.

Up it to 30 and I'll sell you 0.35 btc worth only because I could use a few extra bits lying around.

Nope!

You do realize the only time you might see these prices again is in the off chance that the coin dies, and then who the hell would want it then. I had the same thing happen recently when I could have bought shadow coin at a really cheap price. But I was like, nah, it'll never get any better in price. Now look at it Cry
66  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about immortality? on: January 13, 2017, 01:37:07 AM
The San Junipero part of the Black Mirror series came to mind when talking about immortality. At the end of the chapter, people's consciousness is transferred to the cloud environment. And they continue to live in the cloud environment without their bodies. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j184FPzAzeE

I want scientists to find immortality. But will we be able to take advantage of it when immortality is found? Do they give everyone the opportunity to use this technology?

That is the main thing I always think about. Mostly because if immortality were to become a reality, reproduction would have to be halted and given out like a lottery, since we would run the risk of quickly overpopulating any place we were at. Also, I assume it will be like aids and other diseases now, where the rich miraculously are cured of it and the rest are forced into debt and death.
67  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Lose half your coins! on: January 13, 2017, 01:31:14 AM
Send coins to the address below and have half of your coins returned to you!

No longer gamble your money away aimlessly. With my guarantee you WILL lose half of your coins Grin

Do not trust anyone that guarantees profit from nothing. I don't even really know why this board is even here, except maybe to string all the bullshit offers together. If coins are actually sent I WILL ONLY SEND HALF BACK. I might use the coins sent to give out in the loan section or for blow and hookers. It's about a 50/50 chance for either of those two options.

So if you want to throw some money away, this is the best place for it. Never less or more than 50% loss and you'll be helping my local cocaine dealers and prostitutes. You really can't find a better option on this board.

I hope no one actually sends anything, but in the unlikely event someone actually does, you will get a crisp virtual slap from yours truly and 50% of your coins back. Don't test this unless you are ok with losing money. That goes for everything on this board.
Kill yourself now you motherfu### and scammer. This trick is already dead. No one will gonna believe you,and congrats you have been added a red mark on your profile. Dont fool people here . Your such a waste of time.

baby need a bottle?

If anyone wants to lose half their coins, let them. I promise no gains, so I am confused as how I am scamming anyone. And the red mark was from asking 70btc in the loan section. If you have read any of my other posts, you should already know I'm not a very serious person. Obviously you are.

WELL IF YOU ARE SERIOUS, I have just the offer for you! For just a low low price of all coins sent to me from you, I will send none back. You don't even deserve half your coins back for being so braindead you can't even spot sarcasm.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] <redacted> (seeking opinions) on: January 11, 2017, 09:33:16 PM
Firstly, I wish to thank each and every person who's replied to date, I digesting your words in spite of humorous and, perhaps, incorrect responses on my part.

I'm still trying to get my head wrapped around the why pegging one PENJ to one US dollar is an issue given light that:

The US dollar fluctuates on a continuous basis, albeit small movements, relatively speaking.

The first pricing of bitcoins was pegged to the average electricity usage cost (calculated worldwide).

The current price per bitcoin is currently pegged to $796.08.

Yesterday's price per bitcoin was pegged to $930.28 (quasi-contrived, but you get the gist).

Akin to now being able to present a definitive mathematical proof thanks to some recent conjecture et al., Satoshi Nakamoto's solving of the double-spend problem presented in the infamous white paper may be an element incorporated in the solving of the discussed pegging issue.

I'm not a brainiac to have, let alone come up with an answer(s) sought on my own, but feel bright enough to recognize that a solution could be found, at the very least become closer to being solved via continually discussing the issue, akin how a detective (e.g.) continues to drill a suspect till the truth is revealed of their guilt or innocence. (analogy perhaps sucks, but, again, hope you get the gist)

Thanks again, guys, for all the input to date.

BTW, do you like my domain name - penjr.com? (Norwegian for money is penger)

First, the name is actually pretty good. If you are going to have a mascot I would say a penguin would be a good option.

Now onto the discussion at hand. If you think about it as you said bitcoins price was first equated to an actual statistic in power usage. But now, it is based around speculation. So in a way, your coin although pegged to a currency, could be taken down by traders speculating. The government of China can easily fluctuate the price of bitcoin, so why couldn't the US government say your coin is illegitimate which would then send your coin down in price and it would no longer have a 1to1 exchange. If you could peg a currency to another many countries would have already done that with their own. Other factors ultimately influence your coin, no matter how much you try to control it. Once released out into the wild anyone can fuck with it in any way they see fit. You have to realize someone will always try to undervalue something in order to make money off of it.

Here are some ideas I've been thinking about.

The ethereum contract is still my first choice. The reason is that you can control the amount of coins created by many factors. For instance, you could create a coin that only releases the amount bought. So if you buy 10 PNJR with $10, 10 PNJR is created and sent to that user. This would mean you would always have the same amount of dollars as PNJR. This is good since you would not have to have a large sum of cash at startup and it would never fluctuate. This actually could keep it decentralized. Take the mining idea out of it since you do not mine something with a fixed value. The more gold, diamonds, oil in circulation, the lower the price. So no mining. Instead, you would become a decentralized minter.

Also, not in the same mindset but I still want to create a coin to be used for funding experimental research. All you need is a social network site to hold the info of the research teams with a voting system similar to likes, a coin, and a fund that releases based on a timed schedule and splits it among the teams based on their percentage of the votes. I just like the idea of normal people from anywhere in the world influencing what research they want to be funded and furthered without a government body regulating who gets funds. I haven't fully worked out if the coins price would be based on speculation, percentage of patents, or percentage of the fund. If it were a percentage of the fund it wouldn't be a non profit and not so decentralized as we would control a portion of the funds at that point. This is also a case for minting instead of mining.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] <redacted> (seeking opinions) on: January 11, 2017, 08:32:18 AM
The biggest problem if you think about it is simple.

You are pegging your coin against the US dollar, while simultaneously competing with it. You are either a centralized bank or a decentralized cryptocurrency. In this scenario A can never equal B as their basic fundamentals clash. Eventually people may give in to a central coin because they trust it more, yet it would only lead to exactly what we have now, a central economic power. So in the end it is compromising to the point that you eventually lose that free decentralized economy.

It may sound preachy, but that is why this conundrum pops up when you try to peg a coin with a currency. You can only do it by sacrificing the beliefs of the cryptocommunity.

At this point I'm not sure if the flat earther thing is still a joke meme or if people actually have started to believe it.

Thousands of years of research led us to this point, and for some reason a few guys with no scientific background think they cracked the code.

Two question, just for shits and giggles. If the earth is hollow, what is lava/magma? And why and how could continents move on a fixed plane, which is what you are stating?
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] <redacted> (seeking opinions) on: January 11, 2017, 02:16:24 AM
It's impossible, there are too many factors. I thought about it too but there are many problems involved.

There is no way to trade a coin with a fixed value. The coin would never stay within the range you would have it governed as. Within that same thought, money/fiat is not mined, but minted. Your coin would be mined at a rate that would not be within that range since you would would be always mining and a government releases newly minted fiat whenever they feel like. If you modeled it off of the USD market cap you would need trillions of coins, not billions or millions.

This would then move to the biggest problem of all. The coin would have to be centralized to control it, and no one in the crypto world is interested in that. Traders and miners would turn into miniature trusted banks if you controlled output and we would all be in the same boat we are in at the moment with government money. Down the line this would not be good.

Though I will say you could create an ethereum contract coin that held the value of a dollar and maybe that would work. But remember, you would need a large amount of coins. More than any other coin out there.I forget the name of the guys who are doing it with gold. It is similar in theory but gold can't be magically minted thus it has a steady value.

yeah, but they do have massive pumps from time to time.

With a legit coin like VIDZ, expect big things on launch.

 Grin

I hope not. I want to see a slow growth so its not just a pump and dump and hold for a few years. Smiley But I just checked yobit again and I think the devs also need a block explorer first before they can have the listing.

Devs do you have a block explorer yet?

As long as the site is frequently updated and new content added, I expect a slow upwards growth.  When porn is added expect the value to triple, mark my words.

I think using vidz as a form of payment for OC porn would be very lucrative but I also think that it would diminish the overall accessibility of purevidz. The best way to do it would be to create a sister site that also uses vidz as an underlying paying system. For naming purposes they could also resurrect the old(almost ten years now) porn torrent site puretna. It fits with their naming and it also is a callback to an original torrent distributor from years past, which the torrent community loves.

With all the free porn out there why would anyone want to torrent it? Not trying to be rude but just wondering.

And congrats devs on a sellout blowout. Time to move my coins to  safety on my own laptop.

Well, basing it on their concept(purevidz) it is torrent streaming. The best part about that is that if there are OC porn producers that uploaded videos to a torrent streaming site and viewers payed to view, that producer would see profits almost immediately.

Also, from the view of places like chaturbate, there are plenty of people that pay for content.

75  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about immortality? on: January 11, 2017, 12:36:56 AM
What do you think about immortality? Will people find immortality in the future?
Is it possible to transfer a digital copy of the brain to a computer environment?

Immortality in the sense of a digital copy is not true immortality. It is more along the lines of cloning. For instance, think of an organic human as a vinyl record and the digital copy as an mp3. For the most part you can say there is no distinguishing differences yet, the mp3 does not log all the dings, scratches and every other error present in the original. Just as when you copy any file on a computer it is not the original file, but a copy.

If your goal is to continue yourself from the state you were at when you died, then yes, that will suffice. The problem is, it isn't you. You still died. So you feel nothing. Your copy is what will experience the world after you die. Just as when you make a clone of say a dog, you know it is not your actual dog, but a clone of it. There is no difference from a dog and a person when you are copying its data. Both had an original and both have a copy.

The main problem is how we are created. Humans as they are now will never be immortal. But, if you follow the beliefs of tranhumanism, eventually humanity and technology will meld together until there is a point where there is no distinguishing difference between the two. Those of us born before that time will be doomed to die. After that phase though, humans will be created in a digital environment, so technically they would live forever as they do not have to deal with organic flaws. They would also not be classified as Homo Sapiens, or from the viewpoint of some, not human at all.

Also, I've always thought that if reincarnation is real then there is no reason to find immortality. You technically already are. You just don't stay in the same state forever. Which sounds more fun than watching the world pass by as the same person or thing.

No way! How can you be so stupid? Did you remember the password at all. Maybe you added a space at the end when copying and pasting it. Its possible.

Dunno, i was damn sure it was ok, note was saved to several places, but i finally got it, it seems it copypasted an enter key from last or next line... i was frustrated and tried every way possible. but unlocked! Yay! Not sure if i learned my lesson yet. I'll do it again! Just for the rush!

How do you walk around with such heavy balls?

Do you know vodka with more than 40% alcohol by volume. Currently there are only 40% alcohol by volume vodka in the market, but I heard that there are also much stronger vodka too. See also list of vodka manufacturers here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_vodkas

There is! It's called black market vodka. Sure, you may go blind or die but hey, it must be pretty strong if it can do all those cool things.
