Wallet done syncing from scratch after 4 hours 15 minutes on a laptop, so not shabby at all.
7 peers are showing Core v13 and only one Satoshi v9 connection. Very nice response there.
your dream finally came true ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) More like my worst nightmare came true ... Good to see everything going smoothly for you Varvarin! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Smooth as a baby's bottom ... after a good spanking ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Nice to see you mate.

Addendum: New Install;- Hardware: HP Envy 13-d008na Laptop (Highly Recommended 13"). SSD, Slowest 6th Gen i5 CPU Quad Core, 8GB RAM and 20MBit Wi-Fi ADSL. Usage stats: CPU: 7 - 10% RAM: 759.7MB. Network: Under 1Mbps First 20,000 blocks took about 15 minutes to sync, since then they are speeding along around 50 a second from what I can gather. This silence is not so nice. Why has it be frozen on Polo for a few days already?
We answered a lot of questions about Polo, we're waiting for an answer about the reason why they froze EMC2. Bittrex problem is solved with the new release(in beta). If a problem happen, the team work to solve it. prolly cause you never paid your promoters what you owe ? lol :\ hmmmm That was me not paying (kinda managed to forget after so many months). After spending: - 1,055,755 on giveaways - 1,350,000 developers funds - 450,000 "special funding" aka Mr. S Apologies. Gap would have been filled, but frozen atm. I don't know how to feel just now ... on one hand, I did warn something like this would happen if things go slow again. On the other, I know we have capable developers now to fix almost everything and this experience is necessary in crypto.

... New code sent to Bittrex and Polo. We are preparing wallet build for users.
In meanwhile we encourage you to trade on Cryptopia and to develop market over there also.
I really wish to switch to another exchange than polo, it is scaring me... But i dont want to miss the next emc2 pump (if there will be one i hope) if polo will delay my cashout like other are saying. Bittrex was spiking first each time EMC2 was making a move up in past 3 months, which it also did today with 600BTC to 18k sats. ![Shocked](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/shocked.gif) I like Cryptopia as well, they have some nice coins and volume.

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Exchange/?market=EMC2_BTCFunnily enough I just called Vlad to ask about code and voila, it's done.

I hope volume stays good when it is unfrozen on poloniex. It was doing very well there. No point asking support what is happening because nobody answers anyway.
Well, we should have new code coming ( don't quote me I'm not a coder) tomorrow or Monday, so we'll see how they respond to wallet update request. -updated with new info below .. hah -

For Polo it's a bit strange, either they had some issue with one or two coins and freezing all from the same codebase, or they are having internal issues. Couldn't get direct contact so far and afaik the others couldn't reach them as well, so we don't know the exact reason.
Still frozen as of 13:50 EST no explanation yet... I do wonder what is going on at Polo, disabling trollbox and so on to divert staff ... hmmm, that is a new one .. like how many people are needed to police the trolls, but hey ho ... hopefully it's nothing. .... In other news, we had a very productive day in Nis - Serbia, held an impromptu presentation about EMC2 and crypto in 35c heat ... coming from Amsterdam's balmy 20-25c to 35-40c ... omg. Pics coming soon, you can see me hard at work sweating over EMC2 ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Finished my coffeeshopping tour of Netherland, and I can report they have the best grounds in the world there ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Could not attend the Belgrade meet as I was moving country again with 60kg of stuff, including 27kg of PC machinery. Lets get to work then ... Also, as it happens, I may go for a job in PCB manufacturing. The ideas guy, which sounds interesting as ... well ... how hard can it be to make some crypto mining chips after all? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) Some time ago, over a year now, I was approached by some Danish (I think) crypto dudes about new modular mining chips they designed. Now I finally have something to link that to, let's see. ^should we just call you "Kilo" from now on!? :-D lol You can call me Susan if it makes you happy ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) (bonus point who knows what movie that is from) Frozen on polo??? something big and amazing happening?
I guess our benevolent overlords are urging us to prove our worth. Fear not my lovelies, we haz code in a couple of days.

... good stuff mate ... btw - its not hard to make the chips - its EXPENSIVE ... like really expensive ... ferrari and playboy mansion type of expensive ... but im in with you if you doing it ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ... #crysx In Serbia, everything is possible. It's expensive if you have to pay someone for it ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) I've always been a hardware guy, sort of dismayed that software is all the rage now. However, in Nis, there are many hardware dudes and dudesses and they can design chips with the best of them, in fact I know someone who is doing that for Intel from Nis.

I am now and don't worry, I'll borrow from Paul to pay Pete ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) you shouldn't borrow, just rob the Paul and F*ck over Pete - it's better economic strategy Anyone I spoke to over past year can come and say they did their part .. look .. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Happy Friday everyone!... Happy Friday. Is my last in Amsterdam ... so sad ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Very nice update. nice update ~ 50k emc2 ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) :\ ~ man are you new to dis? I am now and don't worry, I'll borrow from Paul to pay Pete ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) just don't forget, power is nice but only half of the infrastructure required... my experience so far here in Serbia is that the internet connections are all laggy ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) I was going to open an ISP few years back (looked into fibre links and all, not expensive), but that went as well as my dev search last year ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

As we have seen by yesterdays happenings, the blockchain is vulnerable. Could say now "told you before" but somehow I'm interested in resolving this as well... There is no coin that can defend against an attack. Crypto boys and girls are on the next level, all we mortals can do is try to avert their wrath by playing along nicely. So ... I have seen and discussed the problem with PM-Tech, I have seen the solutions - both hard and soft fork and neither work perfectly, which sucks ass ...... However, this has nothing to do with EMC2 and all to do with crypto coding. --- Not to go into overdrive here, the new soft fork solution has a fix which works for LTC, but does not work for coins that have difficulty changes on every block. There is no solution in fact, only workarounds and hope that Gods of Crypto like you enough to let you live in peace. Saying that, they also like a bit of online PvP, so just keep the fight clean without personal insults and we are golden. -- Don't take this as "there is nothing we can do" ... I say, we have figured out the bugs and backdoors in the new fix, now to figure out how we do this better than everyone else ...
|
|
|
What is really happening cus I don't understand any more, why all the fight?? Sz
What he said ... Then again ... coins thrive on some old school PvP action, this thread was rather boring with just DJ and I posting stuff ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) If we have enough consensus about hard forking, and * super important* everyone is on the ball after, it could be the right move to launch us into 10k satoshi. -- On the other side, it could all go to shit and we are back to were we were some months back. I support both sides, Blue Lab devs have done a lot of work for the Foundation. So has PM-Tech. It was a match made in heaven, don't let it go to hell ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Poloniex and Bittrex need to be involved. I see Trex is saying something about an attack so it should be looked into.

Hello, wondering if anyone can help with a wallet question. I previously had an android mobile wallet when that existed and saved my backup keys. It only required a password and not a passphrase. They dont seem to want to open on the desktop wallet and dont prompt for a password. I'm guessing the file could be encrypted or corrupt. Does anyone know if this can be recovered or opened through command in the desktop wallet??
Hello, we are looking into this. Several emails went around dev team and we have located the old code, just not sure if it works now. Saying that, we have Android devs in the team so it shouldn't be too hard to figure out what is possible. With some luck, we can get those coins back. To be continued ...

We can vote with wallet einsteinium to choose which project we want to support?
you will vote with actual coin, each coin 1 vote What happens with the coin afterwards? Will it be worthless? Is it going back on the market, how does this work? Idea is to hold a percentage of the EMC2 for a period of time until certain goals are reached. I'll write up what my idea was for the platform. It's all over the forum, but this deserves a pretty chart. - EMC2 voting would be for projects you want to support. -- Winning projects would receive the coins, most likely in escrow with goals etc. --- Backers of losing projects would be refunded their coins minus a small percent admin fee (1). Achievement rewards and most likely equity in projects or some incentive would give backers a return on investment ... or a warm fuzzy feeling they helped something useful. I'd like two directions: Professional and Grants (Social/Charitable). - Pro's like in software licencing world would pay to use the platform. - Social (like Schools projects and such) would be free to use the platform if they can include teaching about cryptocurrency. Obviously a fee structure would be in place to generate revenue for the upkeep and development of the platform. (1) - Even backing losing projects is good for EMC2, as it would remove some coins from the market for a certain period of time while the voting is in progress. - In effect, one could back a project .. wait 2 weeks say, and when they receive 95-98% of their coins back, the price could be higher.
