I think Rajasthan Royals have more chances to win. Which team do you think will win?

SRH dependent too much on their openers, if they fail following batters will likely to gift their wickets too instead of building their innings, Head is hanging today now but around 100 sr which is highly unlikely Travis Head.

RR looks like everything ticked, so all they need to do is just go and execute their plans.

Every year they start similar but give away their momentum in halfway stage and even lose from the playoff race but this year they decided to continue which is really paying them off.

I found this tweet going viral on social media. What do you guys think? What she is saying is a dark reality when I look into the current squad.

Those stars would be really interested to be a part of ICC winning squad and I don't blame them because they are the one who took Indian cricket to this level and we can't deny India once had hope on only one man to win matches now dominating any side in the world no matter in home or away games.

ICC extended the deadline to make changes in the T20 squad upto 25th May, all I wanted to see Rinku in the place of that one extra spinner that they are never going to play at all.
63  Local / India / Don't make too much assumptions and take loan! on: May 01, 2024, 07:33:29 PM
Again, coming here with a Reddit story who is planning to retire at his age of 35 with his 10 LPA salary package.

Now I did something beautiful. I took out a loan and bought a little over 1 BTC in Jan of last year. Its value went from 20L to 70L. Given the Bitcoin cycle trend. We're gonna go up this year and next, touching somewhere around $150,000. Then we'd crash in 2026. And then go up from 2027-2030. In the second cycle I predict we'd touch $300,000.

Then I took out another 1L loan at the start of last month and allocated it to a Copy Trader on Binance who only trades BTC (alpha currency) and makes ~3% every week. (He uses leverage and it's a pretty decent and conservative number). So at that rate in the next 4 years (which is how long I have left to pay off the loan). He'd make ~$300,000.

So in 2028: BTC will be worth ~$150,000 (assuming the average price on the BTC Power Law Calculator). And my Copy Trading balance would be ~$300,000 (this is also an average, as he makes anywhere between 3-5% every week).

This would bring my total to $450,000. Assuming the rupee keeps depreciating, this would be 4.5 Crores. Just 50L short of what I'd make if I had worked till 60.

You can read the full post too if you want but see he made too much assumptions about the future assumption and the big risky thing is copy trade bringing 3-5% returns every week which is no way possible even in my wild dreams so assuming the user took a loan of 20L to buy that 1 BTC gave the results but the future is highly unpredictable and never take such risky investment decisions will be my suggestion.

At last, how creative he went to plan his retirement too quickly... Grin

Why wasn't Rituraj Gaikwad not considered in place of Yashasvi Jaiswal? I was going through the stats of both batters in IPL 2024 and found out both played same number of innings, which is 9. Rituraj got 447 runs and Jaiswal got 249 runs, out of 249 runs he has only 1 century where as Gaikwad missed by 2 runs. For me Rohit Sharma was the reason why Jaiswal got a position in the squad.

The year 2024 has been very great for Jaiswal in all the formats especially the ENG tour when he stamped his name for the opening slot even though Rutu has been exceptional the number of players competing for opening slot is too much so they ignored Rutu but I expected him to be on the reserves in the place of Gill if the selection purely based on skills and recent form.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔥 BC.GAME IPL 2024 Participant’s Exclusive Discussion Thread on: May 01, 2024, 04:37:35 PM

I am surprised to see that there is suddenly a lot of comparison going on between Gaikwad and Jaiswal. In my opinion, Jaiswal is far superior to Gaikwad because he has proven himself to be a dominant player in all three formats of cricket. On the other hand, Gaikwad has only made a surprise comeback in the IPL. It is important to note that performing well in the IPL doesn't necessarily guarantee success in an ICC event.

I doubt Kohli will leave his position where he has batted so well. I think Jaiswal and Rohit will be the opening pair, but I am still skeptical about Rohit's performance after the defeat in the ODI World Cup. This will be his last World Cup as captain, and I feel he will somehow make a comeback. If not, it will go against him.

Gaikwad also performed well post WC loss, and we should not forget he score 120 runs against Australia and also he performed well inf AFG series, if I am not wrong and the debate is actually should be why he is not in reserves when Gill is there.

Kohli coming at no 3 will allow room for Jaiswal to open but it will disturb everyone else's batting order and Hardik coming at no 7 will not be effective at all so Jaiswal will not have chances to open unless Ro-Ko combination fails.

I was browsing through some recent posts on Reddit and I learned that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has given all respective boards until the 25th of this month to make any further changes to their respective squads. Is this true? If so, we may see some exclusions and a few new inclusions in the current squad. However, I still don't believe that Gaikwad will make it onto the team. If he does, he will be a lucky player. I still think that Rinku Singh should be included and Shivam Dubey should be part of the team. The BCCI should exclude a few bowlers such as Arshdeep Singh to include Rinku as he as a bowler and Aversh Khan are the worst that the team needs.

I don't see any news in the cricbuzz site about the extension of date to make changes in the squad but likely what you said is true cause PCB yet to announce their Squad and in X I can see they will be announced by May 23rd, so yeah that's good to correct the mistake of excluding Rinku, and extra spinner that should be occupied by one more pacer cause it's zero possibility that India will play any match with 3 spinners combination. Also Hardik should justify his selection with some performance.

All known names are in the squad for the upcoming World Cup. KL Rahul and Rinku Singh not getting a spot is a surprise. Already the team has two wicketkeepers therefore KL Rahul was removed but Rinku could play a significant role down the order. Most of the top tier players except Virat Kohli are out of form. I hope they regain their form before the big event starts in June.

Exclusion of KL Rahul is much expected since Pant is back but can't understand about Rinku Singh cause he clearly made impact on every given chance and he could be the player that can finish the games when needed, now who is going to be the finisher is big question.

Still the team is batting heavy but wrong combination can cause the tournaments and that we can witness from what happened to RCB and MI now the same might repeat for India in WC too.

Politics played a part in the selection.

Thank you all.

I bet you're not in the kindergarten to spoon feed everything. Internet is where you meet everything and bitcointalk is not an exception to it. I would say you will get used to that.

People here normally treat everyone in the way they deserve so if a random newbie asks what is Bitcoin the most common reply will be learn to use the search button cause it's been told million times already.
69  Local / India / Re: Using savings account for crypto trading can terminate your account! on: April 30, 2024, 05:42:48 PM
I don't find any difference between stock trading and crypto trading. So when we are allowed to continue stock trading using savings bank account, the same should apply for crypto trading as well. I don't see any issues in that.

But the entire crypto scenario is very confusing in India. So I won't be surprised if the bank deactivates anyone's account for cryptocurrency trading. But ideally they should not do that.

It's better to avoid disclosing that we are receiving funds from the crypto trading platforms to the banking employees, cause employees may not aware of everything and they could just do what they thing is right and making them to realize its their mistake is actually big task, so unless we stuck in the situation we need to tell them, just keeping the mouth shut is good for us.

^^ When the likes of Rohi, Kohli and Jadeja are in the lineup then you can't fit fresh faces in the squad.

Squad looks spin heavy and i am thinking about what would be playing XI. Jadeja and Axar won't play together, similarly, Chahal and Kuldeep won't feature together as well.

This might be the final run of those three veterans in ICC events.

Three of the MI players who expected to be in playing XI of WC got out cheaply.

Exclusion of Rinku can't be justified at all, BCCI made a big error in picking the finsiher role player and 4 men spin attack looks unnecessary.
71  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: April 30, 2024, 02:46:00 PM
BCCI announced the 15 men squad for T20 WC 2024

My first impression is why the fuck they missed Rinku, who is the best ever finsiher and BCCI made a big mistake in that part, still he is in the reserves of someone goes injured.

Samson finally banged the door with his IPL performances but 4 spinners and 3 pacers is again risky.

Do you think this is the team gonna win the trophy?
72  Local / India / Re: Using savings account for crypto trading can terminate your account! on: April 30, 2024, 01:39:58 PM
I think this depends on your country policy, if your country doesn't permit such, your account will be freeze.

This is Indian board, so basically anything we talk related to country India

In Indian crypto trading is not considered as a business. Nor, stock trading is considered as a business unless you are a broker.
.
I am not quite sure about this part because I made some quick search and IT department states that any activity that's done with the intention of making profit is considered as business.

I do not think there should be any issues related to saving bank account being used as a way to credit your profit through crypto trading. I think this guy might have been spooked due to largely bank accounts still getting frozen after P2P amount gets credited. He is trying to relate that issue with saving account being used for trading purposes. Which I don't think is relatable as P2P bank account freeze is a completely different issue.
.

AFAIK, the account didn't froze but the user transaction has been questioned by the banking side which is common though when we receive amount that's huge considering our average account balance and activity but the savings account can't be used is quite new to me.

I don't think crypto trading or making P2P transactions using savings account can be considered as a business.
In this case, banks cannot reserve the right to freeze our bank accounts. The only reason banks can freeze our account is when we are doing illicit activities using our bank account.
Money laundering, credit card fraud, scamming others etc... are some reasons why banks freeze our savings account and not merely for crypto trading.

I have been using my savings account ever since and I had no problem at all because I use the account for other TXs too, so the amount might get mized up and I always been keen on not to convert any huge amount even anything over 50K.

I noticed someone on reddit made a thread that his bank reached out the person regarding the transactions such as deposits and he said it's from his buy/sell crypto then the other person replied that usage of savings account is prohibited for any business related purpose and bank has the authority to freeze/terminate the account too.

Then I reached RBI guidelines of savings account where they actually mentioned it. Checkout the image below

Savings Bank Accounts Rules & Regulations

So my follow-up question is crypto trading is considered as business?
75  Local / India / Re: Breaking: Bitcoin Halving Event [2024] is over! on: April 28, 2024, 05:12:48 PM
I really don't think there is a loss to miners or drop in their rewards as long as Bitcoin's value is higher, I was not expecting any bullrun till the end of this year and I was amazed even by the surge we have seen in last 6-7 months which was not expected. My plan would be to continue with the existing DCA and keep a track of market trend because during bull timing matters the most as you could miss rally by minutes, In short I am accumulating Bitcoin to sell it during peak and reinvest a part of it in altcoins during bullrun.

Miner's rewards getting dropped will affect them for the next 4 years but if again the network is spammed by those shit coins then they will be making a good profit. That is the right strategy buy low & sell high to maximize the profit. The point is that we will see the next bull run is unpredictable everyone was expecting a bull run after ETF approval but, no one was expecting Bitcoin to create a new ATH. Accumulation is always a good strategy to generate good returns when the time is right to sell.

Miners know what will be their rewards after halving so they might be prepared for what's to come, the inscription spams on the mempool is just extra bonus for them to enjoy their bullish season.

Since it's not more profitable for solo miners to mine Bitcoin so they should have been a part of mining pools to get any rewards.

SRH needs to play agressively but not being over confident, what I witness in their last two games is they are being over confident in their batting and try to slog every balls irrespective of pitch condition. SRH really had the chance to Chase it down since dew is in the favour of them but they went too early which costed wickets than runs.

Nearing 10 over mark and only scored over 70 but lost 4 wickets. CSK might try to clean them out with an eye on NRR.

Which other teams do you think will be able to qualify for the play offs. I feel KKR has a good chance to qualify with thier top order batters playing very good as of now. The bowling and fielding is a concern but they can work with that to improve it.

Apart from RCB everyone has their own fate of getting into top 4 in their hands. And RCB might have an outside chance of they win their remaining 4 matches with great NRR and other team results might favour them.

My top 4 as of now, RR, SRH, KKR and CSK.

CSK vs SRH is live at the moment, probably the deciding match of their playoff chances.

CSK started slow, and I don't know why Rahane is still given chance when he is clearly not in the form not just in IPL ever since Ranchi.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🔥 BC.GAME IPL 2024 Participant’s Exclusive Discussion Thread on: April 28, 2024, 10:14:25 AM
There are too many runs that are being scored in this year of IPL. It now looks like any team can easily get to 250 or more runs, looks like the pitches are being created to help the batters. There should be some healthy competition between the batters and the bowlers. I liked the match between RR and LSG more than the first one as the bowlers were getting help in the second game from the pitch. It was the batters who had to play sensibly in that match to get those runs on the scoreboard. Sanju Samson has been in good form it seems as he has been batting well this year and is no longer afraid to play the risky shots. His team is at the top of the point table and they have lost only 1 match till now, they will surely make it to the playoffs.

Technically any team that win 8 matches will end up in top 4, so they are already qualified for it and now their Target will be no 1 or 2 in the points table that will give extra chance in case of losing one playoff.

Flat pitches,

Small boundaries.

Impact player rule

Which are turning this game into the favour of batters but for the longevity of game it should be fair for both or else IPL might lose its charm.

Seeing 250+ score can be entertaining but what can be the dramatic thriller is defending 160.

I do try to give back what merits I earn to this section of the forum. However getting merits in from the global sections everyday is tough and not having a merit source dedicated to the section sucks even hard.

Merits only awarded in certain boards on global section and possibly between the names that everyone is familiar with.

Currently, there is no merit source for Indian board, and I have been repeating on multiple threads someone who is reputed, legendary and been here longer can apply for the position. As I see you can be one of that contender, so if you are interested feel free to drop the application on Meta and I am sure everyone here will be supporting it.

80  Local / India / Re: India cricket Discussion and predictions [self-mod] on: April 27, 2024, 03:09:58 PM

What I think does not matter as BCCI will make its selection based on the way players perform this season of IPL. The biggest blunder the chief selector made was declaring Rohit as the captain before the IPL. As of now, he is not in the right state of mind to bat as he lost his MI captaincy to a shit player. He has clearly said in public that the T20WC squad will need Kohli. Two players who are not doing good are already reserved and they will play every game.

IMO, Rohit deserved to lead the team for one last time in the WC because we should not forget how he dominated the first 10 matches of ODI WC but one bad day costed the trophy.

About losing captaincy which is not in his hands cause owners decides who is going to be and they didn't hesitate to swap who brought championship for 5 times and regarding Virat he is doing what he can do but the team he is playing is not doing anything at all.

We should not only consider IPL performances for WC, since we are not going to play in Indian pitches so one who has experience in playing overseas conditions will likely to be preferable.
