All crypto is dependent financially on BTC, with the possible exception of ETH. I dont think many crypto projects would mind inheriting some of the BTC security. Might was well utilize all the electricity being used for BTC for all the cryptos.

If you dont want your coin to depend on BTC, that is fine. People will decide if a project that adds some BTC secured backstops is more secure than similar ones without. Let the market decide

Anyway, it says a lot about the scam brigade, how the desperate IOTA shills and sockpuppets attack CIYAM. CIYAM is a respected developer, but the shills and sockpuppets - to support the Belarusian's scam - bring up all kind of personal attacks to discredit him. Nothing, new here. We saw during the Moolah, Bitbay, etc. scams that the "investors" (and of course their sockpuppets) are getting desperate while trying to keep the scam going.

I've done business with the NXT team. I wouldn't rule them out yet -- in fact, plans include branding at least part of their platform as a fundraising tool for independent artists.

NXT is indeed a scam in which the dozen or so big holders have been systematically unloading millions of coins for almost 2 years -and continue relentlessly- to get out of Dodge as soon as possible  and with the most cash possible; that Jinn whatever thingy was simply another step on the scamy pyramid to distract and give time to the unloading.
