Hehe.. yeah.. its not that active to be honest ^^....

i do have a plan to fill the room very soon :-)

I would love to not only the channel was filled with people, but our thread, exchanges with large volumes and many people which interested in EMC2.
Now we have 63M EMC2 total supply with 0.003201$ price for 1EMC2. Not too much coins has been mined, but slow growth, it is much better than the explosion and subsequent falling from a cliff (i mean latest bad news about Blackcoin)  Wink

Dennis, what news can bring to us bunch of people?

It's closer to 69 million. I let coin market cap know of the issue.
http://chain.einsteinium.org/chain/Einsteinium

Also we will be having the vote up very soon. Our web developer is working on getting it up and running.

Slight correction, the other adviser is Sander Blok, not block.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: April 16, 2014, 12:20:35 AM
It should be happening very soon. Waiting to hear back from the other adviser.

Oh in other news Moolah and Experiment.com are talking to each other, Experiment may soon take cryptocurrency (they are definitely interested).  Grin Hopefully, things progress, but it is out of our hands now.

Our prices tend to oscilate in a specific range with a pretty heavy trading cycle, but not radically so, and there is a degree of gradual increase. Even before this was mentioned. Price oscilations are kind of in the realm of coins.

Onto the nonprofit, it is more important at this stage for viability than most people understand, in fact it is an absolutely necessary step to move forward as an organization and has been in the works since we launched. Considering we are one of the few coins with an a clearly stated mission, incoming revenue, and an identifiable funding goal with a real world benefit. This incoming revenue for charitable purposes though is why this was critical.  In an era when there are heavily pre-mined coins with questionable goals, establishing both our mission, but also formalizing our organization is important early in our lifecycle rather than later. There are far to many scams right now, as such transparency becomes a critical factor in sustaining not just our mission but the coin in general. There have been far to many coins designed around short term gains of the developers and questionable motives. Formalizing the organization and identifying it's participants should be something in the checklist. Part of the reason it is even "news" is far too few make this effort, even though in some ways it should be seen as a necessity. Building something real and beneficial is something that is often not something even thought about.  It is often just a poorly constructed webpage, and nothing identifiably beneficial that would come from what is being created. What we are putting forth is a new model, a new model that takes work, but we believe is not only beneficial, but necessary.

I think no matter what we announced somebody would have been disappointed, the nature of the market. There is a certain irrationality to the market and expectations. How people are going to take it depends on if they are in it for the short or long term.
I also think people keep forgetting we are announcing our finalists tomorrow, there will be voting, a winner, and at the end of voting we will be going through our first halving.
68  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: April 15, 2014, 12:07:02 AM
For those that do not know, with the legal formalization means we are dead serious in our mission of funding science and maintaining the coin, it took over a month to make this happen, and we are one of the few coins with an active nonprofit. This means that there is a dedicated organization making this happen for the long run.

On Simon, he fell ill and had to step aside regarding the organization. We really do wish him well and a smooth recovery.
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: April 14, 2014, 02:42:21 AM
is there still going to be emc2 news this week? Saw a dev of emc2 in the poloniex chat saying something big is happening this week.

Yes, there will be several bits of Emc2 news coming this week. Stay tuned..

The voting, and the coming halving are the obvious news. But there are other elements as well.

Just a PSA for my old dev team, I worked hard to get you something most coins would pay dearly for, getting you on Moolah. EMC2 is going to lose their services if volume doesn't change.
https://twitter.com/moolah_io/status/455390339340468225

With all due respect, I saw the tweet as well, It was soon after deleted. We have been trying to get moolah to work with us and experiment.com for a few weeks. They seem to be dropping the ball here. Experiment.com would be huge for moolah yet we cat get around jenna. If you have pull there maybe you can reach out.

PSA..

Cryptsy daily volume =7.50 BTC
Poloniex daily volume =13.08 BTC
Mintpal daily volume =11.35 BTC

I think our coins is doing just fine personally.

In reality this was just the past week that things have happened. Discussions with Moolah, they seemed to be open to being a payment processor for crypto for experiment, so we approached experiment after this discussion, and experiment was open. The last few days moolah has been a little flakey though. We do not know why, but I think that our POC is lost in the weeds.

It should be noted, emc2 is not the only crypto we are looking to get supported either for experiment, just one of them, we are trying get general support for cryptos through moolah (doge, btc, ltc, emc2, etc). We opened the door for moolah and experiment because we feel this is an ideal use case, and because both dogecoin and us has had success with experiment. We think it would be good in general if this were to happen. The one request experiment has made is a payment processor, which moolah is.

We have had steadily growing volume, just not on prelude, which is their exchange. But prelude is a small exchange that just got started, and exchanges take time to grow, probably more so then coins. Mintpal is a big exception to that rule. While I can see them dropping octocoin which is close to dying, we have retained healthy volume. Prelude.io gets decent volume with dogecoin, but as an exchange it's struggled to gain beyond that. It would be nice if people traded our coin there, and our general growth showed up there as well. We welcome people to trade there.

The reality though is our coin is on a number of exchanges, some were we get more volume then others. The thing is the big exchanges brought in big volume for our coin.

With that being said, we will keep trying to make this happen, we believe it is important. We have a good relationship with experiment, we will likely fund more projects posted there, so this will continue to grow. I would love this to go forward so people can make cryptocurrency donations there regularly, not just as some specific fundraising effort like Walter or Unidan, so if anybody knows how to escalate this with moolah it would be great, not just for us, but in general.

Please submit it through the website! I am looking at the nominations there.

Thanks for letting us the pool is down.
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: April 11, 2014, 10:02:38 PM
I think we need to remove voting for mintpal and cryptsy, and list them on our exchange list.

Also...remove cryptorush voting. We rather not have our coin holders and traders exposed to that risk.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: April 11, 2014, 09:26:22 PM

Added to cryptsy and price went UP instead of down in the first 6 hours! That tells you that you're on the right track.

I think the last few days cleared many of the dumpers not interested in the coin or the success of the foundation in the long term who had larger stakes off the table. As painful as yesterday was, it may have helped. It seems we are back to a steady growth cycle.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: April 11, 2014, 08:34:12 PM
atomic trade bigger than Poloniex and Mintpal?
Nope and certianly not bigger than Cryptsy, which we just got added too. With that being said, broad exchange support is important. Even the smaller ones can grow larger in time.

Christine-Praxiscat
David- Einsteinium Wisdom

That came out of nowhere. We were not even that high in voting, which means we are listed because we are doing the right things.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EMC2] Einsteinium | Funding the future with the future of currency on: April 10, 2014, 06:21:47 PM
It might be a little early in the coin's life cycle, but I don't think it would hurt to start thinking about this: What can we do as a community to build merchant support for EMC2? I believe this coin has a very unique hook in that accepting EMC2 could be seen as supporting science,.. or will be when our donations rise and word gets out.

Let's start building the EMConomy. Grin I'd love to see places to spend my EMC2's, even if it starts small.

I would do web development for EMC2's! (my profession)

The other thing I was thinking is that people don't already have to be into crypto to see the massive potential of EMC2. Most other newer coins are basically marketing to existing crypto-investors. They're trying to convince them to invest in X coin instead of Y coin. That's fine, but EMC2 has a stronger base than that. We can market to the entire scientific community. We must let all of our brothers and sisters in science know about what we're trying to do here.

FOR SCIENCE!  Grin

Great question! It's not to early either, we are already reaching out to people on this matter.

We are talking to some merchants and Moohlah. This is in addition to experiment.com.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins with active devs, per Heartbleed bug example on: April 10, 2014, 04:30:52 PM
Not every coin is effected by the bug, it really depends if the coin uses TLS in public operations, this is something bitcoin does use. If it does, it's vulnerable to the heartbleed bug. But not every coin uses this functionality, and those coins which do not are not vulnerable to the bug. Our developer has already looked into this for us,  Einsteinium (EMC2) does not use the functionality which is in question with the heartbleed bug. However, to be on the safe side we will be implimenting the fix in the next wallet. We actually have a pretty active dev, they implimented a hard fork to fix the KGW issue and replaced it with digishield over the weekend.

Not every scrypt coin uses this functionality, many are implimenting the fix for PR than actual need. If your developer is active, they will clearly express how the vulnerability effects the coin, if it does at all.

Right now Im on Panic buy mode with this price !! My btc are stock on blockchain  Angry

edit: debug,TIME TO BUY AT DIRTY PRICE MUAHAH  Grin

There were some big dumpers. Right now it's a value again. My own stash grew as a result of this drop.
The dumpers are suckers.

In other news, our POC with experiment was on vacation, we are still in talks with them, and they got back to us recently. While the market price fluctuates, those of us at Einsteinium are churning forward.

There may be other big news for the organization soon as well. We are not slacking off.
