Is there a hard cap on the supply or is it inflationary? OP says 39-78 million PER YEAR

Who will mine, if there is a hard cap?

idk ask bitcoin

The people must know there will never be a hard cap in bitcoin, litecoin or any other altcoin.

"One-person-multi-votes" will be implemented, this is will  reduce dumping and preserve a good price and it will promote investment.

How many coins are in circulation r8  now?
Plz someone let me know..

IT's a bounty of 1000 TAC for the person than make a website that shows exactly how many coins are mined.

Whitout that is hard to know... But beetwen 2500000-2800000

It's planned te integrate this directly in the wallet. It will be simpler.

It will be redistributed in p2p games (in developpement).

Can you tell us more about the p2p games, please ?

It will be a P2P lottery/dice based on timestamp and some other parameters (totaly unpredictable and without cheating).

Certainly not all coins will be used for chatting and voting. Some are for holding and some are for trading.

asking (5.6.2014 21:23)

it would be cool if one part of this goes to the miners as a fee too?

Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:27)

Yeah, I'd like to see that too. It would be a good way to supplement miners' income during periods of low block reward.

Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:30)

Maybe as block reward gets lower, miners' share of chat and vote fees gets higher...?

Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:32)

Dev team could decide on a proper percentage so they can still be getting a good cut of the fees.

Bumberchute (5.6.2014 21:37)

I think making this one change could prevent a large wave of future negativity.

I think that ideas from above conversation should be implemented.

Chat is not free, it's not to make money, it's to limit spams/abuse, same thing with the voting system. There is no moderation, it's p2p.

It will be redistributed in p2p games (in developpement).

If you want to turn off sound, use the command line argument -nosound when you start the wallet  Smiley

Just because you think it is worth more doesn't make it worth more. There is zero infrastructure for this coin and it is still buggy. Also there is some very good competitior (Bitmessage).

Im not saying that TAC is to be valued like other shitcoins, but 3250 BTC for a coin that isn't traded or widespread is ludacrist...

Well, once it hits the first market and the first major dump proceeds, you will see.

- There is no bug in the actual core code of the wallet, just some visual appearance problems.

- Bitmessage != Talkcoin, it's not the same thing.

In bitmessage only a recipient of a message is capable of decrypting it. There is no public room with public messages, everything is hidden.

Bitmessage =  send encrypted messages to another person, or to multiple subscribers, it isn't "instant".

Talkcoin = chat with public rooms + instant messaging (in development).

In TalkCoin, "Talk" is more important than "Coin". That means it doesn't pretend to replace bitcoin, it's not the goal. Talkcoin is a software platform centred on a P2P communication network, there will be mutiple tools developped as a rpc api that sites could use to display the chat.

Hi

What are the features that you would like to see for Talkcoin?

So far I have collected these from the community:

Algorithm bug fixes (next release)
Private address-address chat
Talkcoin iPhone/Android app
Hypertext messages
Pre-vote (wallet auto-votes based on setting)
P2P Lottery
Quiz game

These ones, and
I would like to see a better designed wallet, with the NEW LOGO, and the correct chat size, look what happens when you maximize the window:

This will be fixed with the next release and Pre-vote too.

will you keep the same fee on voting and chatting always at the same level ?
Right now it is more or less okay as the coin is still easy to get, but once it will be on an exchange and assuming it does well, nobody will chat anymore...

Well, there is no price right now, so it's difficult to choose the good values, but let's say, it should be about $1 to vote and $0.10 to send a message and to limit spams. Do you agree?
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAC] TalkCoin | ★ NIST5 ★ | P2PChat & Secure Messaging | No Premine on: May 31, 2014, 01:15:10 AM
How many total coins will there be, or is it ever expanding year on year?

I've alrready responded in a smiliar question.

There is no hard cap because a hard cap is completly useless, with a hard cap on amount of coins, miners will stop mining when the block reward drop to zero, the fees are not enough to sustain the amount of miners.
That's why there is a voting system, it's better than a hard fork every month to change the block reward, and it is the community that decides, this is rightful.

At the bitcoin conference.
"As block rewards reduce in size, transaction payments may not be sufficient to support the ever-increasing mining costs. This could result in the need to resort to a constant block reward for perpetuity in order to compensate miners appropriately."

X11 is a chained hashing algorithm approach, taking 11 hashing algorithms from the sphlib. Created by Evan Duffield, X11 consists of blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein, luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, and echo.

NIST5 is more efficient than X11 with GPU. And for now is ASIC restirant, and X11 no.

This algo uses the 5 finalists of the NIST SHA-3 competition, the National Institute of Standards and Technologies (NIST) selectioned the 5 best algorithms for their performance and other hash functions did not pass to Final Round, it's not a good way to add all hash algorithms, some have flaws and some performance problems

This needs to be fixed first. Lost 10 hours of mining on just this one miner. I had 3 like that when I woke up. I have gone as far as leaving everything @ defualt except the intensity and TC... and still get this. It does not matter pool either. Tried 3 listed and all 3 end up leaving my rigs idle for unknown amount of time.

The one below quit for 10 hours. 9AM is when I found this one.

I have the same problem. Any idea how to fix this?

Have you tried other configurations (setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1  ...) ?

could please Dev team explain what's the next plan for this coin ?

There are many things planned, encrypted messaging will be the next task to do.

Hi guys, how's everyone controlling temps with talkcoin algo and sgminer? I'm worried there is no fan and/or temperature readings displayed in sgminer...

It's better to use a specific software for monitoring temps/performance for CPU/GPU.

A free open source software that monitors temperature sensors, fan speeds, voltages, load and clock speeds of a computer.

Cute idea. Looks very promising for sure and I woner how is it going to develope.

Any info about new wallet?

The next wallet will segment the chat by country and sound will be available (and maybe emoticons too), private encrypted messages will be in an another version not in this one.

More features are also planned for future, here's some ideas:

- P2P Lottery

- Decentralized Asset Exchange

very goog.what time?

Its always difficult to give an exact time frame, there is still much to do, but the next wallet should be available before the end of this month.

20 Second block time = 3 blocks per minute. 3 * 60 = 180 blocks per hour. 180 * 24 = 4,320 blocks per day.

4320 * 50 TAC = 216,000 TAC per day * 365 days = 78,840,000 TAC annually.

4320 * 25 TAC = 108,000 TAC per day * 365 days = 39,420,00 TAC annually.

4320 * 21.20 TAC = 91,584 TAC per day * 365 days = 33,428,160 TAC annually.

4320 * 1 TAC = 4320 TAC per day * 365 days = 1,576800 TAC annually.

Anyone know how long the voting window is open for?

Voting takes place twice per week during 2 hours.
