61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stay away from crypto influencers on: April 30, 2023, 05:08:03 PM
Some influencers are paid by cryptocurrency projects to promote or shill them despite having a lack of knowledge. If you're an investor or newbie, never consider their financial advice or any recommendation from them. It's better to conduct your own research regarding the project to determine if it's legit or not.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Shiba Inu still worth it? on: April 30, 2023, 02:50:37 PM
The price of Shiba Inu is still at $0.00001023, a stagnant movement, but we don't know when the price will skyrocket again. The highest price was on 10/28/21 at the price of $0.000079 if I'm not mistaken. It's a choice if you will let go and buy other altcoins or hold until it multiplies. If not, why not buy some Shiba Inu shitcoins or meme tokens for fast profit.
63  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fight against corruption on: April 29, 2023, 02:31:16 PM
No, a president, even if they are genuine in their intentions, cannot easily fight corruption that has seeped into every crevice of government and society that it was institutionalized and normalized. To really stop corruption, the system itself needs to be overhauled - either by removing everything that is touched by corruption or by revolution.

Even if the system is overhauled, there would always be opportunists who would take advantage of the temporary power vacuum to destroy any semblance of honest governance. Why? Because nothing could be gained from a corrupt-free government. History has shown us again and again, even on smaller scales, that there would always be people who thrive in chaos and corruption because there is money to be made from it and they would fight progress itself if it means getting more money.
64  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin overshadowed by economic lie on: April 29, 2023, 02:22:10 PM
I mean, you have said it yourself, the public does not buy into Bitcoin even if it has good price history because it was involved in many scams. These past few months alone, many rug-pulls and scam coins have been exposed and brought into the mainstream and many people associate cryptocurrency with Bitcoin, they would have assumed that Bitcoin may also be another crypto scam.

Bitcoin really needs a mass-friendly PR strategy launch to distinguish itself from fraudsters. Spread awareness and information that can be easily understood even by the most computer-illiterate, maybe even publish real experiences of people who gained something out of Bitcoin. But that would be really difficult since Bitcoin is not really a company so it must really to its users to uphold its image.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advise to a friend on: April 29, 2023, 01:56:14 PM
Ordinarily, I don't like asking questions like this because I feel they're personal questions that should be answered by myself alone but it has been on my mind for a very long time and I have not gotten a solution for it.

I have a friend that works hard. He does two jobs and he makes a lot of money. Most of his money is in a savings bank account where he saves them. He doesn't have any use for it right now so the money is just sitting pretty in that account. Lately, I've been having the urge to advise him to buy Bitcoin with like 40% of his savings and HODL. Holding won't be an issue for him because he has the patience of an old man. He has left the savings in his account for over two years without touching it. Now imagine him transferring that energy to Bitcoin.

The problem is, someone has convinced him to buy altcoins before now, I think in late 2021 or thereabout. He bought three different altcoins for about $500 and now two out of the three coins he bought are worthless. one is worth about $0.045. The price ain't the issue, the issue is these coins are not like Bitcoin that will rise again.
I have explained all he needs to know about Bitcoin to him and he understands. He understands how Bitcoin is not a get-rich-quick scheme, the risk, and the patience involved.
He buys into the idea but I'm still having doubts. I don't want to look like a fraud when things don't work out. I mean, I can speculate about the market all I want, but I can't be sure what tomorrow brings.

So should I go ahead and advise him to buy Bitcoin or I should leave him to come to me himself? Because he will buy it if I ask him to.

If he would buy Bitcoin if you asked him to, that is not already advising but convincing and urging him to buy Bitcoin. You have already explained to him what he needs to know about Bitcoin and he understands that it is not a scheme or a scam - then let that be enough. If he did buy Bitcoin with almost half of his savings because you asked him to and by some act of God, Bitcoin crashed in the near future - would you be able to bear for being the cause of your friend losing half his savings?

Tell him that if have questions or clarifications that he can always come to you or you can lead him to more resources where he can learn more. Also, don't dictate him how much of his savings he should use to BTC, that ain't your hard-earned money, you are not the one working two jobs. Let the final decision be upon him.

66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any Bitcoiners here who are living offgrid? on: April 29, 2023, 01:22:14 PM
So, is there anyone else here that is questioning the current political and banking changes, and moving to an independent offgrid lifestyle?

Moving to an independent off-grid lifestyle would be very difficult, especially if you adhere to the general meaning of being "off-grid"- not dependent on any public utilities such as water, sewage, gas, and electrical power grid. You are relying on yourself to provide for yourself, mining Bitcoin would be the last thing on your mind. In your current experience, you are a digital nomad, not someone off-grid.

Even if I question the current political and banking changes, moving to an off-grid lifestyle seems like a nuclear option lol People have become reliant on the conveniences of modern life and people will fight for it to progress, or if not, protect their status quo. But in reading your experience, being a digital nomad also has its perks.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Pi coin on: April 28, 2023, 08:24:27 AM
Actually, you can trade PI Coin with other people who are interested in buying it, but first your account must be verified (KYC) so you can send and receive the coin. I think you will get a notification e-mail from Picoin if your account is eligible for the KYC or if you must be a pioneer to access the KYC. If you're looking for a legit buyer, it's better to mine and wait for the official release of the mainnet. I would like to know for those people who mine Picoin when the official release of the mainnet?
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: April 28, 2023, 07:52:48 AM
The Atlanta Hawks had a chance in the fourth quarter, but unlucky for them, the Boston Celtics had their lucky clover. Props to Trae Young with 30 points, 10 assists, and 3 rebounds, but it's not enough to keep them in the series. Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for advancing to the Eastern Conference semi finals, they will face the Philadelphia 76ers. Who you got?
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Nghitumbwa (May 13) on: April 27, 2023, 11:19:28 AM
I didn't know that John Riel "Quadro Alas"Casimero has an upcoming fight in the Philippines against Fillipus Nghitumbwa. I searched for information about his opponent, who is from Windhoek, Namibia, with a professional record of 12 wins and 1 loss. I don't think Nghitumbwa will have the chance against Casimero with his past background, but who knows, maybe just a lucky punch will turn around the fight. It's better if Casimero will knock him out just to please the fans.

Jimmy Butler on his 2020 form! He hits an insane shot in the last second of the game to force overtime, what a play. Congratulations to the Miami Heat for eliminating the 1st seed of the Easter Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks, they are now advancing to the second round of the playoffs.

New York Knicks eliminate the Cleveland Cavaliers to advance in the second round of the playoffs.

Golden State Warriors leading the series to 3-2 from 0-2.

The Memphis Grizzlies beat the Lakes to force a game 6.

Trae Young had 38 points, 13 assists, and an ice cold game winner (3 points) as the Atlanta Hawks beat the Boston Celtics! People keep on saying Trae Young is overrated, but he did a good job forcing a game 6.

Today's Game: Denver Nuggets eliminate the Los Angeles Clippers, and the Phoenix Suns eliminate the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Congratulations to the Phoenix Suns and Denver Nuggets for advancing to the second round. Which team do you think will advance in the next round of the playoffs?

Lebron James had another achievement with 20 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2 blocks as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Memphis Grizzlies. Do you think there will be a comeback by the Grizzlies despite they are 0-3 against to Lakers? And shout out to Jimmy Butler with his career high 56 points and 9 rebounds as they defeated Milwuakee Bucks to take a 3-1 series lead.

Also Jimmy Butler is the 4th (56 points) Most Points Scored in a Playoff Game, All time Leaders.

1st Michael Jordan with 63 points
2nd Elgin Baylor with 61 points
3rd Donovan Mitchell with 57 points
4th Jimmy Butler with 56 points
74  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: April 25, 2023, 11:52:03 AM
I'm still waiting for the official statements of both sides on whether this fight will be continued or just a dream match. I just saw yesterday a tweet on twitter that possibly the fight will be announced this week. I hope they got inspired by Tank Davis and Ryan Garcia risking their zeros to entertain the boxing fans. It's time to build up the negotiation again and stop ducking each other.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: April 24, 2023, 10:56:11 AM
Congratulations to Gervonta "Tank" Davis on winning against Ryan Garcia, that was a thrilling performance. I thought Tank would knock out Garcia instead he gave him a brutal body shot in the seventh round. And also, props to Ryan Garcia for his all out and aggressive performance. There is no need to feel shame for losing once, but make it your aspiration to continue your journey in boxing. I hope whoever wins the match between Daven Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko will face Davis.

77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: April 11, 2023, 10:02:08 AM
He really took that kid's mocking personal. Indeed he gave Pereira the fast track to get a title shot even when he only has a few fights in UFC. But this time Pereira will really take the hard road going up which if he goes up to LHW, a losing streak awaits.

1 loss out of 5. is a good winning week for me. Next week will be Max Holloway vs Arnold Allen. The most exciting fight in this card is Clay Guida vs Rafa Garcia.  Grin

Perhaps Alex Periera will have a really hard time competing in the light heavyweight division, but don't forget that he was a Glory Light Heavyweight Champion (2-1). Definitely, Dana White will give Pereira a fast track to compete for the title shot in the Light Heavyweight because he's already established his name, he just needs to win one against someone in the top 5.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [UFC] Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira 2 on: April 11, 2023, 09:05:51 AM
What a display of violence by Israel Adensanya! that was one of the best cold-blooded knockouts in the UFC. I hope there will be a trilogy, but as Adesanya said, he's not interested because he already got his redemption. I don't know if Alex Pereira will stay in the middleweight division or move up to the lightweight division. If they are planning to move up, that would be great, and I would love to watch him compete against Jiri Prohazka and Jamahal Hill for the championship belt.
