i dont much know about litghtning network, how much transcation per second can lightning do?
this is hard to measure - a similar question is: how many transactions per second can the internet do? (of course both networks are not at the same scale at the moment, but the internet started somewhere too)this would be great if big centralized exchange join this, i mean as you can see when we transfering bitcoin to exchange wallet the exchanger still need to transfer to their hot wallet vice versa when withdrawing, they can cut cost if implementing this right

today i saw a new development in the lightning space: https://lightningaddress.com/tldr: send sats to the known email address format it is a combination of lnurl and a http server. some people who use letsencrypt might know the .well-known/acme-challenge endpoint to get certificates for your website. lightningaddress uses the .well-known/lnurlp/username endpoint to generate lnurl invoices i am looking forward to provide such functionality to my friends and family - this is exciting. what do you think? i am a little bit afraid that it will be centralised like email is today, that is why running your own lightning node seems a good thing to do |

I opened this thread a little bit more than a month ago and in the meantime LN capacity grew more than 500 BTC:  a little under 400btc.. but who's counting.. seems LN fangirls are always exaggerating to the point of appearing as 125%+ of actual truth in regards to LN 2272.51 - 1730.94 = 541.57 it is more than 500btc - but who is checking the actual numbers right?  |

That's exactly what we are trying to do. Why would c-lightning not support it, though? I can't find any information that states so. according to this issue on github it is not possible - i read it somewhere else too, but can't find the source atm |

I wonder if you could open a channel to me if I closed my channel. Would you mind if we give it a try? I would close my channel. Then, you would open a 100k-120k satoshi channel to me and I would try opening back a channel with the same value.
Why a 100k-120k channel? In case I am not able to open a channel to you, I could receive ~50k-60k satoshi through your channel and refund you via an on-chain transaction. This way, we would have a perfectly balanced channel even if we fail to open another channel. I am also open to other suggestions.

Lohnen tut sich das nur wenn du einen Block findest.
Es ist also mehr als "Lotto" gemeint.
Im Pool minen usw. lohnt sich ebenfalls nicht mit 2GH - 150GH.
Darum ging es hier ja auch nicht.
mir geht es in erster linie hier um den background Bitcoin zu minen um halt das ganze noch mehr/besser zu verstehen und auch irgendwann mal sagen zu können, ich hab BTC gemint wenn ein BTC-block gefunden werden sollte (wovon ich nicht ausgehe), um so schöner  ahja - danke ihr zwei, ich habe nicht ans "lotto" gedacht - coole sache stimmt, könnte ich eigentlich auch mal machen |

hmm, lohnt sich denn dieses usb-minen überhaupt? oder ist es eher ein "spassprojekt"? also wäre es nicht "klüger" einfach mit den paar € direkt bitcoin zu kaufen? natürlich gibt es da viele faktoren zu beachten, aber kann mir irgendwie nicht vorstellen, dass usb-minen profitabel (oder mehr bringt) als direkt kaufen. aber bin ein absoluter noob was minen angeht, vielleicht liege ich auch komplett daneben

It depends on what the things are. Something like lightning network is not far from everything else you put in a regular wallet, the cryptography for example or all the script semantics are pretty much the same as you would have in a wallet so adding it to the same wallet is not adding a completely new thing. hmm, i get your point, but i have the feeling that it always starts like that: it is close enough. but sure, in the end it is a decision someone has to make. and just in my humble experience, most of the time it doesn't make the live of developers easier. but maybe that isn't the goal... |

ich bin fast immer "out of merits" - die sind doch da um sie zu verteilen oder?  Das ist/war mal der Grundgedanke bzw. die Idee hinter dem System. Allerdings scheinen das einige User missverstanden haben und horten sie stattdessen.  hmm, die laufen also nicht aus? das wäre doch eine gute idee, dass wenn die smerit nicht verteilt werden, diese dann mit der zeit auslaufen, d.h. horten bringt nichts. wobei das tut demjenigen dann auch nicht weh und dann laufen die halt aus... hmm direkt mal abonniert - finde so statistiken und auswertungen immer spannend - danke! |
