overclock or better would be to sell it and buy a low range amd card, My 6670 is doing 121Mhash/s

Id be worried about fire's as well.
Such as a rat gets up there chews cables shorts it out computer goes off rat dies.
Youv set it up to turn back on so it does, brings rat back to life and lights it on fire.
Flaming rat runs around spreading fire.

lower heat, less power for sure
Also possible it does something with the timings.

Could just put the PC in the fridge but then you would need something to prevent the condensation.
Such as a damp rid or de-humidifier.

Or in my case I can just leave my door open since out side its 3C and my rooms not much better at 8C

Mining = my heater.

Thats good thinking. Maybe put the PC in a sealed plastic bag and then in the freezer.

One of those insulated bags would be better.  I think the large ones are under $10 USD

If it keeps the condensation out it would also keep the heat in which makes it pointless.
A damp rid would be the best thing to use but it would only last 2-3 days before its soaked up as much as it can.
De-humidifier would be next best but it would be adding to the heat.

Watercooling and sticking the radiator in the fridge/freezer would be most cost effective tho.
65  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Measured at the wall, what's your Watt/MHps on: July 21, 2011, 01:24:23 AM
280-290W at the wall.
530W PSU
Old 939 Duel Core Opteron overclocked at 3GHZ
4 HDDs
2 DVD burners
HD6850 overclocked at 1010mhz.
281Mhash as I speak.

For 1BTC I would be interested.

68  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Can you share your experience with a failing PSU? on: July 20, 2011, 10:43:23 PM
Havnt had one fail since I was back on XP.
But what happened were random blue screens under high load.
Then it started freezing on desktop randomly (thought it was ram at first so changed that)
Worked for a few more weeks that started BSOD at start up.
Then just didnt turn back on.

Had another one fail where the fan stopped then it released the white smoke and turned off.

And back in the win 98 days had one go pop, And it electrocuted me when I touched the case.
Wasnt serous voltage was more like those zap toys you can get.
69  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do not over-volt your video cards... Here is why. on: July 20, 2011, 09:52:29 PM
Was expecting to see blown up cards lol.
Iv been measuring mine with my kill-a-watt Idle power has been subtracted which was 129W, Full load with just CPU 203W.

6850 (775mhz stock)
all stock 153W 202Mhash/s
960mhz core 155W 266Mhash/s
1.22V 1000mhz core 158W 272Mhash/s
1.22V 1000mhzh core. 350mhz mem 155W 278Mhash/s
Temp change wasnt much.
Stock 67C
OC 70C
Voltmod 73C
Voltmod with mem uc 72-73C
Using CGMiner all the other ones use 100% cpu on 1 core but they get 4-5Mhash more but its not worth the heat and power the cpu uses when CGMiner uses 0-1% cpu.

Still going to push for a higher OC but stability testing this clock and voltage at the moment.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [BTC bounty] Help me with Sapphire Trixx and voltage control on: July 20, 2011, 08:19:42 PM
have you tried clocktweak to change the voltage?
71  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: = ClockTweak = win32 command line clock/voltage tweaking tool on: July 20, 2011, 08:47:30 AM
Finally got the voltage changing to work altho it still wont work with any other app.
Had to remove all the drivers then install 10.12 then updated to 11.5
Just going straight to 11.5 wouldnt work no changes would take effect. And 11.6 doesnt work ether way and kills my Mhash speed.

Also noticed that in the help there a small error. Says to change voltage then the example has -c instead of -v.
72  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Im hashing at 1.1Ghash but im only getting .6 btc a day am I in the right pool on: July 20, 2011, 03:30:50 AM
Try BTCGuild you can choice to pay feels and get confirmed instantly or pay no fees but wait 17 hours per block.
Im getting 0.31 a day on 288 mhash/s with a few hours with my 6670 joining in adding an extra 121mhash/s
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: [BTC bounty] Help me with Sapphire Trixx and voltage control on: July 19, 2011, 07:29:12 PM
new catylst stops it working, Well it did for me.
Also dropped my mhash right down while making the card run hotter.
11.6 = rubbish.
74  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BTC Guild vs Slush vs Deepbit thoughts? on: July 18, 2011, 11:20:12 PM
btcguild as my main since you can pick what fees you pay and they payout everything in your account instead of rounding it to 0.01
deepbit is my backup
75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why cant someone just "copy" my wallet address? (real newb question - soz) on: July 16, 2011, 05:25:29 AM
Because the wallet address is made from a private key generated at random by the program.

To get the same address would take 10 million years using a program like vanitygen which trys 1000s of keys a second to generate the address your after.
76  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Official CGMINER thread - CPU/GPU miner in C for linux/windows on: July 14, 2011, 03:25:19 AM
Nice,Think I found my new default miner Wink

First try letting it use all default settings it would only get 209 mhash/s

Then using -n -w 128 -I 9 options got it up to 263 mhash/s
Then replacing poclbm and phatk110711 with the modded phatk brang the speed back up to where phoenix was with spikes going 2mhash/s faster.
77  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Multiple 5830's now overvolt/overclock with Sapphire Trixx on: July 14, 2011, 03:06:15 AM
Still doesn't allow voltage adjustment on my sapphire 6850 Sad
78  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining with semi-defective cards? on: July 13, 2011, 12:22:43 AM
Getting a little blow torch and carefully heating up the chip would be better since you wouldnt be baking all the caps which dont like being over 105C

Or the heat gun method used on xboxs.
79  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin addresses FAST! [v0.11] on: July 13, 2011, 12:12:31 AM
V0.10 is big improvement for me.
Went from finding 1 address per day to find 4.
Just using a LE sempron since running vanitygen takes the cpu from 18c idle to 29c full load and power useage went up by 10w.
My desktop's way quicker finds an address every 2-3 hours but dont like running it full speed since temp goes up to 58C and uses 130W more lol.

Still would love to see what its like on a GPU.
80  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [PULL] private key and wallet export/import on: July 12, 2011, 12:48:23 AM
Just dont put removekey in the gui. That will be enough to stop noobs from losing there keys.
Importkey and Dump wallet should be in the gui tho since no harm can come from them.
