61  Other / Meta / Re: Why is the activity of my account still 14? on: July 23, 2021, 01:44:02 AM
if you made 14 post for 2 weeks be sure that you will be on active status on 14th or 15th day starting from the  day you're registered and  the posts will be added to your Activity number. I'm just stupid  Grin Grin Grin don't mind this reply.
If you post once in each 14-day period, you will mark that period of activity with that single post and have a potential 14 activity points. You will only get that 14 activity points whenever you make enough 14 posts.

Why do I say it is potential point? You can make 13 other posts one month, two month later in order to fill that lack of 13 posts for 13 potential activity point in that 14 days.

If you notice, for users who currently have total posts exceed total activity points, after the activity recount of the forum, if they make only one post (to mark a new 14-day period), their activity will be updated with 14 more points (usually 1 hour after the post publishing time). Because their abundant posts in the past will be counted for the new 14-day period as well.

It's a bit confusing to newcomers, I get it.  I don't know if I can explain it any simpler than anyone else here has, but it'll make more sense as time goes on and you keep posting.

Basically as I understand it, when you first register you get 1 activity point for every day that you post up until an activity of 14.  After that, if you post at least once in every 2-week period, you'll get 14 activity points.  So if, at a minimum, you post once every two weeks from here on out, you'll increase your activity by 14 points--no more, no less--every two weeks when the activity period changes, usually on Tues-Wed, depending on your time zone.

Hope that was helpful and not more confusing.  I'd read the activity description when I was new, but it took more than a day for me to really understand how it works.  Then once I understood, it was simple.

Thank you very much for your reminder, I will read the rules carefully. You explained it very clearly, I understand now. Grin

<...>
All your posts are from the 15/07/2021 onwards.

According to the Activity calendar, last calculus was performed on the 14/07/2021, and the next will be on the 28/07/2021, so all your posts counts towards the current Activity window, and it is maxed at 14 Activity points per window, regardless of the number of posts you make above that mark within the current Activity window.
I’m not 100% positive, but I believe you may not see an activity increase on the 28th, but rather have to wait for the following Activity cycle.
Thank you for your answers, let me understand the key to the problem---It is based on the first post, not the registration time.
63  Other / Meta / Why is the activity of my account still 14? on: July 22, 2021, 07:28:15 AM

My registration time has been half a year and I posted 26 posts.

Code:
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

According to this rule, my activity should be more than 14.

Can anyone tell me if it is because of my network or because of a bug in the forum?Thank you.

Do you have anything to add?
https://blockchair.com/bitcoin
u can  find out a lot of data of the project party on this website.Transaction volume, currency holding address, amount of funds in the mining pool, etc.

Don't you consider how big the community behind it? Remember that if the hype was coming from the community that was spreading the word about the project. The potential or big project will always have a very big community behind it. The communicy was also playing a very important role to make the project became a successful project. This already proven by so many major crypto projects.
A new potential coin will always have a solid community behind it
The key is that even if the community has a strong project, few people know it in the initial stage.
How do we judge the value of a project when few people know and participate?
When it develops into a strong community, there is no need to judge, at least it proves that it has been recognized by many people.

Some small exchanges will issue several high-growth altcoins to attract new users to register and recharge.
When you make money, the exchange will reject your request for withdrawal;
But the end result is that the currency price suddenly dropped a lot.
The disadvantages of unknown exchanges are small trading volume and insecure assets.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the basic difference bitcoin and ethereum? on: July 22, 2021, 03:18:56 AM

The two are not comparable.
Bitcoin established the status of cryptocurrency and is the king of cryptocurrency.
Ethereum is the king of altcoin and focuses on application.

I admire the hacker's technology. Technology is a double-edged sword. Used in the good way is to help people improve technology, and used in the bad place is a crime.

By the way, do hackers have to be talented? How is a hacker trained?lol
I think hackers are very smart people, some are just, some are hateful.
69  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you buy this book for your kids? on: July 22, 2021, 01:10:10 AM
Obviously, if they are learning the alphabet the following doesn't really apply; However generally, kids should choose their own path i.e pursue their own interests. As a parent all you can do is guide them, but they ultimately should choose what they enjoy doing. So, I don't think that Bitcoin should be forced on kids, just the same as anything else shouldn't.

As for this particular book, it just doesn't seem appropriate for all of the reasons listed above. You want to make sure that your kid is going to have as easy time as possible in school, and the alphabet isn't something that should be taught with Bitcoin.

Yes, children’s interests are determined by themselves, and adults should not forcefully interfere. In fact, I did not force him to learn Bitcoin because he was too young to understand what consensus is. I think consensus is the essence of Bitcoin. If it is not understood, it will be difficult to continue to explain.
If the child is learning the alphabet, it is better to use the things around the child than Bitcoin. It seems that you are a father who knows children well. Wink
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will become the most decentralized cryptocurrency? on: July 21, 2021, 09:45:42 AM
The Bitcoin network is a zero-sum system in equilibrium: transaction fees plus the rewards for mining blocks must pay for the total cost of running the Bitcoin network.
When the block reward is zero, the transaction fee must pay all fees. The design of Bitcoin is that a miner receives transaction fees, but each miner must pay the fees for transmitting, verifying, and storing transactions.

In the absence of a tight supply of transactions, this unbalanced cost-return relationship prevents Bitcoin from being in a safe and decentralized balance.

If the cost is less, the less efficient miners cannot make more money than they cost, and then they are forced to close their mining areas and then withdraw. As a result, security will be reduced and it will become more centralized.

The only way to ensure that transaction fees are sufficient to pay for security and decentralization is to let the block size limit act as a transaction supply constraint.

Without a sufficiently small block size limit, miners will mine transactions where the transaction cost exceeds its marginal cost but is less than the total cost.

In contrast, if there is a block size limit, miners can only mine transactions that pay the highest fees. This ensures a sound balance between transaction volume and transaction fees.

In the end, we just want to figure out how to make adjustments to help Bitcoin grow. The block size limit should be adjusted very carefully, as it may undermine the security and decentralization of Bitcoin.

Therefore, the decentralization of Bitcoin has limitations, and the decentralization of nodes cannot be proved by the decentralization of nodes.

I also agree with your point of view. First of all, I think it depends on how old the child is. I think it’s better to understand it at an appropriate age. It may be better when the child grows up and the blockchain technology is more mature. There was a particularly funny thing. My niece gave a speech at school. The topic was: "My Aunt" When she talked about her aunt’s career, she said that my aunt bought Bitcoin. She faced the computer every day and looked at K-line. When the bitcoin rose, she would buy me pizza and milk tea, and she would kiss me tenderly. When my aunt was in a bad mood, I couldn't get close to my aunt. The teacher at the school thought it was incredible. This is enough to prevent me from going to school to pick her up from school this year.

The blockchain industry is not the same as the cryptocurrency market. It is not just buying and selling, but also has many application scenarios.

I also join in the denial of such an acquaintance with bitcoin for my child. I will seem old-fashioned, but everything related to the Internet, gadgets, computer games is strictly controlled in my family, knowing how easily a child's psyche is changeable. Likewise, I believe that everything has its time. At some point, knowledge of bitcoin will come in handy, but I don't think children need it.
Strictly controlling the time that children play online games is necessary for children's growth to prevent them from indulging in it.
I will talk about Bitcoin with my children, and imagine that in the future, cash is not necessarily required. Some countries can use Bitcoin. In the future, when robots serve people, they may only be able to pay with Bitcoin.

Personally, no. Because to be honest, I really don't get the obsession with shoving Bitcoin down your kids throat so early on. There's simply just a lot more things that should be prioritized for kids than Bitcoin. At least at the right age I'd introduce programming first.

In fact, my son started learning Scratch when he was six years old. I didn't force it into his head. When my colleague and I called, I would mention Bitcoin blockchain and the like. After he heard it, he would ask me what a blockchain is. I briefly introduced it, just like introducing an asteroid in the universe.

I believe that if Bitcoin spread evenly then there is no institutions who can manipulate bitcoin price.

Bitcoin is evenly distributed, which is impossible. I don't know how many years it will take to wash away the whale's large amount of Bitcoin.

Today I want to order a children's book online. A book called /B is for Bitcoin/ caught my interest, and I searched the author.

The author Graeme Moore, Canadian, born in the 90s, has always been annoyed that he missed the Internet wave, so he paid attention to the blockchain very early. He said: "I have been paying attention to blockchain and Bitcoin for a long time, probably in 2014, and I particularly hope to do something in this field. He is thinking about what else blockchain can do besides cryptocurrency? I was inspired by seeing a one and a half year old niece reading a picture book. I have been thinking about making the book "B is the B of Bitcoin" for a long time, and finally I decided to make it. Because I don't know which projects can be directly compared To contribute to the Bitcoin community, I don’t know how to program to optimize Bitcoin’s core protocol. I can only write this book."

Moore intends to let children learn literacy while learning blockchain related knowledge.

A for apple, replaced by A for Altcoin,
B for banana, replaced by B for Bitcoin,
C for cat, replaced by C for Consensus,
D for dog, replaced by D for Decentralize

In the past, I hesitated whether to tell my child about blockchain, but I decided to give him a brief introduction.
Because blockchain is a technology, its applications will be very extensive in the future, and there is no harm in knowing more about it.

Will you let your children learn about Bitcoin and the concept of decentralization from an early age?

77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to use BTC and USD for pricing at the same time? on: July 21, 2021, 05:26:25 AM
Currently, Bitcoin pricing is more difficult to achieve because of too much volatility.

I'm afraid now is not a good time to buy.

The overall market sentiment is low and it is not suitable for entry.

Free is the most expensive. Because you have to spend precious time and energy in exchange for it.
