Is the world economy dependent on the American economy?
To an extent, some countries are more influenced than others by the US depending on who their biggest trade partners are. If they barely trade with them no one really cares unless it influences a partner who trades with them signifcantly as well which is the ripple effect. In general terms yes but the extent varies if your DPRK who gives a damn you care about China

I didn't know that the Cambridge unit went offline my last newsfeed for it was in 2014 The main problem with BTM's is that they have costs and people need to make the appropriate markups the best locations cost a lot and advertising as well.
I agree with Neal location and promotion makes a big difference and the regulatory environment and uses for it locally.
Neal Conner, customer service manager for Lamassu, said the company has 138 machines currently operating around the world, with customers in “over 40 countries.” He said the firm that owned the Boston-area machines, including one in South Station that received considerable publicity because it was one of the first anywhere, had “pivoted” their business plan away from high-traffic locations to more targeted business “nationwide via cards in convenience stores.”
“We are waiting for the right person to come along and make a splash,” he said, noting that in some locations, including New York City, “they are doing very well.”
“It comes down to promotion and location,” he said.

It's nice to see the 8... did not think I would say that. But seeing it go down from 10 is good hopefully we can lose one or two more before change.
I'm hoping for a stubborn block or two before the difficulty adjusts similar to the round a few games back where it literally was won by the skin of its teeth.

That is a tight spread you can't even get smaller than pennys unless it was a tenth of a penny then ... Either way its an interesting trading range.

So this is shaping up to be the monster diff adjustment period that we've been predicting for the last several jumps. I wonder if this is just a burn in test for a massive amount of hardware? In which case we'll see it spike, then drop back down a bit, then gradually increase as the machines make their ways to their new owners. Or are new facilities being brought online that no one is reporting?
+8 Please and Thanks It could be part of the difficulty adjustment that we were expecting, those miners from Bitmain took a while to ship and get sent out so some units may be coming online, that and the recent price increases set price stability in this price range so old miners are now being added to the network that were previously left offline. Combine the two factors and the present difficulty increase is not that bad considering the external factors involved.

Payfirma is launching a Bitcoin API. The API allows businesses to accept Bitcoin along with other traditional payment methods. Consumer preference and payment methods are changing, the Vancouver payments company says, so it’s important for businesses to quickly adapt and offer payment options: in-store, online, via mobile, and with alternative currencies. Through a partnership with BitPay, Payfirma’s Bitcoin API allows beta users to accept bitcoin as a payment method with an integration directly connected to their Payfirma account. With the ability to embed it into the eCommerce checkout experience, users can see purchases and refunds made with Bitcoin that are automatically exchanged into dollars (USD or CAD) at a verified exchange rate. “Today’s consumers are adopting new payment technologies, like Bitcoin, at a rapid pace,” says Payfirma CEO, Michael Gokturk. “We’re always iterating and innovating at Payfirma." Payfirma helps you accept credit card payments online, in your store, and on your mobile device. Our cloud platform processes your payments and puts all your transaction data in one place. With you data in one place, you can use your numbers to make smarter business decisions about your customers, products, and employees. http://www.techvibes.com/blog/payfirma-announces-beta-for-bitcoin-api-2015-11-06

Why in the title of this thread is written "Longest Running Signature Campaign"?
After all, it's not even manipulation! It's a lie!
Please tell me which Fixed-Pay Signature Campaign is running longer than this ? Here you are: LuckyBit - Start: June 30, 2014, 07:49:32 PM https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=671689.0 Yours: January 07, 2015, 02:50:24 PM Seems you are right. OP may change his title. This may seem a bit strange but Luckybit just ended their campaign so that title might be accurate again Would need to check all the overview but think it sounds about right.

is this news legit? i cant find any other source to prove that expect cryptocoinnews article.
To my knowledge it is, the informaton seems to have spread from the cryptocommunity blogs and has not been picked up by the mainstream media. Either because they are confirming or denying it themselves or it was somehow missed on the radar. No sourcing that I could see besides the focus taiwan article so perhaps it is a hoax. This is the source http://focustaiwan.tw/news/aeco/201511020025.aspx

Can I make a prediction that a few campaign's will end at the end of this week with a final payment to their signature carriers or even worse somehow 'encounter issues' that means they aren't able to complete payment this week (the big price increase would obviously have nothing to do with it ) Edit - Coinut have already started by the looks of it tut tut Very predictable. That is one reason that fixed pay campaigns with an escrow help to ensure the reliability of the service as it ensures that their is a budget for that month set in advance regardless of what Bitcoin does. And on the off chance that a campaign manager defaults someone will pay it out.

I have read around some and cant find much that isnt a few years old.
Im new to BTC and was going to keep a few hundred $ worth on blockchain.info to spend and then invest in a few thousand $ in an offline manner. Is a paper wallet the best bet? I am not very tech savvy. Also where is the best exchange to buy from? Thanks in advance.
For convinience a backup wallet.dat and Bitcoin Core would be very secure and my recommended method to keep them safe. Of course you can also use cold storage options like a paper wallet or download wallets that provide those capabilities such as Armory.
