I have no money in my wallet. Basically all of my payments are made online now. I have an ID card in my wallet, a photo of my girlfriend, etc. The strangest thing is that there is a coupon for a closed store

I think there is a problem with the recharge of all online games, but this will indeed bring us happiness and also make game developers more advanced

I think a good study habit is to think more, only in this way can we develop our divergent thinking.

I wouldn't say there is anything wrong with it at all. Everyone needs time to themselves, just because you have a family doesn't change that. I finish work around midnight and I enjoy being able to come home and do my own thing for a couple of hours before going to sleep.
Yes, I very much agree with you. I often wake up in the middle of the night to look at my phone and drink some coffee. This is really so happy

I did that, medical leave for 6 months... the first month was great, after a while, without the rhythm of work, I fell into a mess. I didn't take care of my personal hygiene, laundry piled up, dishes were constantly in the sink... if everyday is a Saturday then there was always time to do it 'later'.

I got a preview of what I thought my dream retirement would be and it turned out to be a nightmare. It was so bad, I went back to school.

Now I make 2x what I used to 5 years ago and I have a better idea of what I actually want for myself.

I think it's totally normal to want to be responsibility free, but the responsibilities that we have often are what push in a direction in life.
I'm completely the opposite. Whenever I've been unemployed my apartment is spotless, I work out, engage in hobbies, see my friends etc. Obviously I don't go to bars or spend as much money, but in general my life is more fulfilling and I get adequate sleep, I'm able to devote time to studying what I want to in between job applications.

It's completely the opposite when I have a job. I often go days without shower or brushing my teeth. Dishes pile up, actually more often than not I don't cook, I'm so tired after work I usually just get fast food or microwave something. I don't get up early and have coffee, I sleep until the absolute last second before I have to get up in order to get as close to 8 hours of sleep as possible.

Whereas when I work I think, well I don't need to do laundry I sit in a call center all day I guess I can make it to the weekend then do it. Whereas if I'm unemployed I'll do it when the need arises. While employed I push it off to the last minute to enjoy the downtime more.

I don't think It's weird in the slightest. I always try to get up before my family, it's lovely to have a cup of tea, read the paper and just generally gather my thoughts before the day takes over. In fact I can get a bit grumpy if I'm not able to have this alone time.
67  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are subtle red flags at a job interview that say "working here would suck"? on: February 01, 2021, 06:39:24 AM
If you can see the floor before the interview, you can sometimes get a vibe about the place. I once went to interview for a sales position. Aside from the interviewer being 30 mins late, it did allow me to sit and observe the situation. I realized pretty quickly this was not going to be the place for me. Very quiet except a handful of people on the phones cold calling. Many reps trying to push for contacts on the other end, just painful to listen to. And when they’d hang up there wasn’t really any interaction with co workers. Just quiet, and then another call. It all seemed very tense. I noped out of their real quick after the five minutes the interview took. Dodged a bullet.

I had interviewed for a call center job at another place that’s as a complete 180 from that. Yes it’s a call center job so it is what it is, but there was laughter on the floor, people talking to floor managers, just a completely different vibe that was more inviting.
I remember going in for an interview, I waited in a small area on the job floor (open plan) and things seemed buzzing, people were getting up to talk to each other, the person who was supposed to interview me just finished a small meeting with an employee, giving them feedback on their last customer interaction (it was by their desk so I could overhear). It was a small office at a startup, but it was telling me it was a fun little place to work in. Unfortunately I didn't pass the interview, but I had a good time at the interview as I got asked interesting questions and the interviewer later called me to tell me I didn't make it and why, and added me on LinkedIn as well. I got some good experience and later got a job more fit for me.
68  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is your job and what does your day in the life look like? on: February 01, 2021, 03:40:40 AM
Senior software engineer. I spend most of my day in meetings planning future projects and explaining to stakeholders that we don't have their project done because I spend most of my time in meetings.

When I'm not in meetings, I'm researching various technologies and APIs, peer reviewing my teammates' code changes, writing unit tests, handling end-user questions and maybe spending 5% of my week actually writing code to implement features.

It's one job where being the most experienced person on the team means you get to do less of what you're experienced in.

Podcasts, online chess, and working out are the best ways I have kept my mind sharp through all this and tbh while I am quite anxious and bored and can’t wait for the world to open up, I do still feel as cognitively sharp as I’ve ever been. Also take your vitamins.
70  Other / Off-topic / Re: What are some of the worst business practices you’ve seen? on: January 31, 2021, 02:34:31 AM
I heard this one from a friend: She worked at a dog kennelling business that would tour prospective clients through the front of the building and show off how each dog would get its own indoor/outdoor run area and specialized attention, etc. Then when Thanksgiving and Christmas came and they got more bookings then they could accommodate, they set up cages and stacked kennels in a back room and people were paying big dollars thinking that their dogs were in a nice roomy pen while the business crammed as many dogs as they could into these basic cages. It was shameful.
Reminds me of when we kenneled our two dogs we had about 10 years ago or so at an animal hospital. They’d take the two pups and head into where the others were and we’d leave for the 3-4 days we needed. Was infrequent. We couldn’t figure out why it seemed so pricey but being new to kenneling instead of just taking them with us, we didn’t know better. The Bill never said anything except for some unknown fee that they claimed was standard. We boarded them maybe three more times then the fourth time they had a new person handling billing and such. Hands us the invoice and wouldn’t you know it, the pups were being kept in the medical part of the hospital with all the sick dogs for no actual reasons. SO went ballistic on them. Vet tried some bs excuse but even she couldn’t cover the price gouging practice. Too long story shortened, many calls to their main office and going up the chain of command, they refunded every single stay. They closed down maybe a year later due to shady stuff like that that the community didn’t tolerate. Fun times.

Not a teacher but I’m from a small town and one day like half of my high school was late because a senior decided on his last day he was going to ride his ride on lawn mower to school (in cut off daisy dukes and a cowboy hat). There’s one main access road to the school... he backed shit up for like half an hour between busses and cars.

You won’t be surprised to know that he goes by the nickname bubba.
My school bus was late one day because a flock of peacocks wouldn't move out of the way.

They used to live on a farm, but the people moved away and left their peacocks behind. They became feral peacocks, and sometimes they'd just parade around in the street like assholes. You cannot effectively shoo away a flock of peacocks. I'm not sure if they're still there, but every time I visit my folks, I slow down around that curve in case there's a flock of peacocks in the road.
All peacocks are assholes. Dumb as bricks and stare at themselves in any reflective surface. I've actually been late to work because they won't move off the drive. Never ever feed them or they will never go home. I'm pretty sure humans taking care of them is the only reason they haven't died out yet.

I spent $3000 for my wife to meet the backstreet boys and get front row seats. It is the best thing that has ever happened to her and the smile on her face after the show and look of pure bliss in someone who suffers often from anxiety was worth every cent.

I lost 65k in the last 3 weeks trading altcoins and bitcoins.. take the "only put in what you can lose" seriously..
sorry dude, but many of us first make losses until they realize hodling is superior. i hope you have a high net worth so that the 65k won't be an existential threat...
Thanks! It will not kill me but it whiped out all my savings. I started with 50k and was on Stellar when it went to the moon.. and back, so had the feeling doubling it was possible I sold with 20k profit, put another 50k in and started revenge trading.. going in and out, always too late and it seemed to turn once I was in. So lots of buy highs and sell lows as I was scared to lose more. Then started on more risky coins and there we go.. a very expensive lesson. Am very ashamed but still want to warn people. use money you do not need, do not get greedy and leave it in there for a long period. Just like you said..
Very sorry to hear! Hope it goes better moving forward, I believe trading successfully is quite hard and I've already taken enough losses to do it again, put in more money than I should or buying random coins. Cheers!
