Hi everyone, I just finished writing up another really solid Asiacoin post on the coming multipool (at least I've been working on it long enough that I hope it is). re: my last post - the asiacoin devs did eventually get back to me. I offered my marketing/PR services and to join the dev team. Their response was they would get back to me after POW ends. I will keep you updated if anything changes. Please share if you enjoy... https://medium.com/crypto-articles/134775819dd7Cheers, CB We should have a like button here Anyhow, nice post! Too bad I will be travelling for over 24h wednesday. Will be eager to see what happened once I arrive on my destination

Are you people blind, some down the price and you sell instead of buying I'm buying alright at the moment!

Last thing I heard the owners of that pool took off with the coins.. It's baffling how many sheep flock around premined coins like WC, while gems like AC remain relatively unrecognized.
True that, but I imagine they will come to senses sooner or later. For now it's a major buying opportunity for AC. Long term we need to get a clear plan though.
|
|
|
is it still profitable to mine AC after the halving?
why is the multipool still mining and dumping them?
Could be that it became profitable last night when ac.pool.mn went tits up after a DDoS attack. However ac.pool.mn recovered now and will probably slowly start gathering hashing power again

http://ac.pool.mn pool has been under massive DDoS attack, the server went down and after reboot wallet.dat file of the pool is not accessible, deamon gives the following error: terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error' what(): CDB() : can't open database file wallet.dat, error 12 If anyone can help restore private-keys from the file please write to me or to the pool's email. Reward for help! I was able to recover the wallet. If any of you guys end up with such a problem do the following: - check db.log file - if you see the following line: "unable to allocate memory for mutex; resize mutex region" - create DB_CONFIG file in datadir folder and set: mutex_set_max 100000 or something bigger Run deamon Excellent news, thanks for sharing!

My open letter to the AsiaCoin dev team: First off, I want to say great job so far! You've really nailed a near perfect launch and there is tons of interest in this coin. I'm very bullish long term as you can tell from my article ( https://medium.com/crypto-articles/7fce4b2279c7) but the purpose of this is not to pat ourselves on the back but openly discuss the work that needs to be done to take this coin to 100K. Before I get into that I just want to say it would be nice to receive a bounty for the work I've done already. I sent you an email via the contact form on the website 3 days ago and haven't heard back. No worries, I'm sure you are busy, but it does kinda irk me when I spend 6 hours researching and writing up a post that brings in hundreds more followers to this community only to not receive a bounty, but see you giving away 500AC to people who did jack shit. But I digress... There is so much attention on this coin right now and whispers of a pump coming next week. Whether we hit 3, 5, or 10K - the coin will crash hard and eventually fizzle out if you don't put out a detailed roadmap with transparency. Do you want to see AsiaCoin become like 90% of the other coins out there? What we need from you: 1) A calendar of major events. For example, POW expected to end on X/X/XXX. Multipool announcement to be given on X/XX/XXXX. Anouncement about traction with asian miners to be given sometime in May. You get the idea. Even for things that aren't set in stone it's okay to put out a date range. What this does is prevent this coin from rolling back to 8-10 after a big run because old and new investors have something to put their faith in. When designing this calendar of events you need to space everything 1-2 weeks apart to give enough time for the coin to cool off and consolidate before the next run up. I can help you design this if you'd like my help. 2) An innovative multipool announcement - not just another standard MP with a stupid twist like on fluttercoin. A TRULY different MP. For example, an AUTO arbitrage function... yes that would incredible and send this thing soaring. WE NEED TO BE DIFFERENT. Right now Asiacoin has great branding, great launch, and lot of other nice things going for it. But we need to define ourselves on something solid enough that people say - "yeah they brought that to the table" and all other coins will start copying us.. 3) Keep up the high level of branding - I don't know if I need to say this but please don't ever consider putting out some conspiracy theory document like the zetacoin nutjobs. It's very easy for anyone with intelligence to see that their manifesto is garbage and people are going to get shit on very soon. You have a great site, great marketing. When you announce things please make sure you continue with a high level of polish and professionalism. Again, I am offering my services to help you if needed. 4) PR is essential. We need to keep a solid stream of news up - from the number of asian miners around the world joining our cause to the new advancements you are making to the coin. Again, not to say you are going to sqrew this up, but it needs to be planned out WELL in advance so we don't have a community of people going well that kinda sucked... major selloff. Once a coin crashes hard like Fluttercoin or Blackcoin it's so much harder to climb back to the top. I'm a director of marketing and have been doing PR for years. I offered all of these services to you through the contact form on the website and haven't heard back so I'm taking this letter to the forums in hopes that you may see it here in case your inbox is flooded. To the community reading this - if you agree with this post please +1 it so the developer has a higher chance of seeing it. I know the moon pictures are bound to cover this up and I don't want it to be forgotten. Also, if you have other ideas for things you'd like to see improved please speak now and add to the list. Don't think I'm trying to troll - we are doing so fantastic right now. This coin is going to jump very soon. My goal is we get this to 100 so I can quit my job and get into trading full time. This coin isn't perfect, but it's the best thing out there right now that has the possibility of reaching 100. Let's all come together to see this thing succeed. Cheers CB Thank you for your suggestion.Btw,we will send the bounty to you ASAP. Do you plan to take crypto_bull on board or follow (any of) his suggestions?

Ive just created 300 articles and put them online, sent the dev a list of links this morning for 150. I did agree the bounty with the dev on day 1. I can only assume that the giveaway is causing them some stress. I did get both my bouties with no problem but I did need to wait for them.
Seems logic you had to wait a bit to receive bounties, there was no premine so Dev had to mine/buy whatever amount of coins needed for the bounties

BTW - most of the MP have already done their dumping Waffle has zero (they do have 3,000,000 WC though ) Coinshift has zero Hashcows has 25,000 Clevermining - Doubt they have any Where are you getting these numbers from?

We can discuss some technical development of the coin, can't we? Eg. nicer wallet, some new features, etc. I think, asia coin need mobile wallet I think it would be a real plus if we could get someting like this: http://www.blackcoincard.com/Noted at this stage this might be a bit too early, but if we ever want to put cryptocurrency to use in everyday situations then this for sure seems a very easy and direct way to do so. To offer this would be a plus for AC. Not sure how many other coins have followed the example already, but probably not that much.

Does anyone know what changes were made to wallet version 1.0.0.1? I'm on a Mac so I still have the original version. Any word on the Mac version being updated?
I recall there was an rare issue in the first few days with transfers not showing up. Dev addressed this issue, which is probably why the wallet software was updated after that.

The first one or two pictures were funny. Now it's too many.
Would appreciate a good discussion rather than a trashy looking thread. It will have a negative impact on the coin, not positive.
I agree, how about removing those posts Calme?

I did like the coin from the start and i did buy a LOT, i am not gonna sell as everything was perfect until now. The dev's deserve some trust and support. The POW will end and then we will see what is going on, right now its just waaaay to early. After all the coin is 1 week old ... come on, give it some time.
+1. To be honest it's also one of the few coins I trust to buy into. All the other coins don't seem to have anything going for them and just end up as pump 'n dump.

The two weeks of PoW is indeed a good thing. After that the coin should be a lot less prone to mining speculation and multipools. Multipool might be holding back some volume to dump later on, but honestly I don't think they'll bother keeping large volumes for the long run. They're in for the quick buck.

Has anyone been working on some promotion in Asia? Thinking tech sites, general media, fb, twitter? Asia loves technology most of times, I'm quite sure they'd be pleased with a coin representing them in the cryptoworld?

I'm buying as well. The negative comments come out when things are tough. This is when money is made. Be brave, the Asiacoin story is only a week old, and people already saying "it's over". Simply ridiculous. No doubt the same was said many many times about BTC too.
I remember back in the day when Bitcoin was being sold off on the markets at 9€/BTC here in Europe. Lots of people were laughing saying 'who are these morons willing to pay us fiat for some worthless electronic coin'. I'm quite sure the ones buying back then are the ones laughing now Had some friends back in the day mining a ton of BTC and selling off at these prices. Think they're looking back on a missed out opportunity now, hopefully they were smart and kept some aside

There are indeed a lot of good buying opportunities at the moment. If you look at the charts on mintpal you can still see quite some upwards pressure as well. The multipools have been selling off at bargain prices and yet still prices are holding with all the buyers gladly taking them off their hands.

Should I invest all in this coin? Always good to diversify. I would definitely invest some in this coin! Yeah. I mean, all my litecoins. I don't think they will rise in price in the following month so AsiaCoin might be a better investment. Depends on the risk you want to take. I'd say it's a good idea to invest in AsiaCoin, but there is also a higher risk involved compared to bagholding your LTC. As mentioned earlier also diversifying your portfolio would be a good idea.

We estimate 2-4hrs to launch, should there be no further problems. Again apologies for the lack of information and delay.
In that case why not reschudele till tomorrow morning so the British people (who are supposed to be the main target audience no?) can be at launch and not in the middle of the night.

Look guys, thinking up GB Coin was a great idea and we're all trying to stay positive but I've been refreshing until my fingers fallen off and I could really do with a working one right now to type this out. I've ignored the wife all night to be able to mine this coin, (so I've already invested a lot... no nooky or nothing)!!..... Now I'm sat downstairs in the cold too bloody afraid to go up!! She gonna kick off!! Please please please tell me that sitting here like a child waiting for his favorite comic to be delivered is going to pay off........ I'm feeling the same way!
