61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Weighing the Pros and Cons: Perpetual Trading on CEX & DEX on: June 18, 2024, 09:01:49 PM
CEXs offer leverage, user-friendly interfaces, and advanced tools, but DEXs provide security, decentralization, and control over funds. While CEXs have better liquidity, some DEXs like ZKX are catching up. Ultimately, it depends on personal priorities and trading styles. If leverage and UX matter most, CEXs might be the way. But if security and decentralization are key, a DEX like ZKX is the better choice.
What you called DEX are not decentralized at all. You can browse and read about how they work and see how centralized they also are but not completely centralized like those centralized exchanges but also they are not decentralized. If it is about security, those DEX can be hacked also. We have seen CEX that were hacked and also there have been DEX that were hacked.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What category would you classify such bettor? on: June 18, 2024, 04:54:48 PM
I wonder why everyone say risky bets or risk takers..
Because he can not win the bet even if he continues to bet it more than 1 million times.

If he's putting a combined 6 bets around 7/6 :1 odds we're looking at a multiplier of easily over 50k, so he will only need to place 1$ to win $50k, it would be far riskier for him to put 10k on a single bet at 5:1 odd and get the same sum.
The odd is almost 4 times more than 50000 as it is 192,971.6334.

So he is actually risking less but he has lower chances of this happening also, at the same time he will probably lose just pennies at the end of the day, much like playing the lottery.
I do not see that as risking less but like he just gave money to the casino. I believe the guy will know that he will lose the money before he even bet it.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling winnings should NOT be taxed on: June 18, 2024, 12:10:19 PM
People indirectly pay taxes without knowing it, when you enter a shop to buy something, you'll be paying value added tax on what you bought, also when you earn, the payee has deducted tax from the amount that you're entitled to receive and the government is the receiver of these taxes. I feel that in countries like Australia, where gambling is not taxed, their governments can still be collecting income taxes from the gambling companies, who will remit it from the percentages of gamblers bets. Tax is the major source of income of governments and they are therefore entitled to every income that is made in their country, whether directly or indirectly including gambling..
In countries like Australia where gambling is not taxed, not that the gambling platforms are not taxed. All gambling platforms that are operating legally in Australia are taxed by their government. The citizens are not taxed means if an Australian citizen won 200 Australian dollar, he will be given the whole 200 without deducting any tax. But as gamblers are losing and the gambling platform are able to continuing the progress of their platform, they also pay tax to the government. This is different from the value added tax that you are talking about.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What category would you classify such bettor? on: June 18, 2024, 11:48:23 AM
He could be staking a very small amount on the bet and testing out a new strategy, or he has done it previously and has had success with such strategies, there are so many possibilities on why a gambler made such a bet and we cannot reach any conclusion with a snapshot of a bet slip.
He can not have success in such strategy. If it is one match, the probability to win it is less than 10% but he chose more games. The probability that he will lose that game is higher than 99.99% although not 100%. What I think more about this is that someone might deceived him of fixed matches and he fall for the scam. I have seen someone that got scammed like this before but with two matches that I told him he will lose and he lost both but also on a single bet.
65  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What category would you classify such bettor? on: June 18, 2024, 10:58:13 AM
You cannot judge someones betting strategy from a single slip. This are very risky odds and he is not unlucky that they all were wrong, he would have been extremely lucky to win that, extremely lucky.

If he plays like this most of the time hoping that one will give him decent reward, that is bad strategy. But if it is a mix up or risky and expected results then it is not so bad, especially if they are not losing money.
It is true that we can not just use a single betting slip to judge someone but those games can not be won and he may believe in miracle than reality. What I think is that the person that bet it is greedy and only want to chase after money in gambling but which will not do him any good but bad if he continues. That is not small odds at all and he wants to become a multimillionaire just very easily and he might be thinking gambling he could win it. I can guess that the person may be new to betting and ignorant a little about what he chose.  The person has all the three characteristics because that is a not a good strategy, he is a risk taker and I will say he is greedy. You are right because if he changed and not bet like this again, we can not call him all these. But as of this discussion, he is greedy is all I could think.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever won any significant amount from free spins? on: June 17, 2024, 09:15:16 PM
Free spins suck balls most of the time. You have to get lucky as hell and land a bonus game for any shot at money and even then it's not gonna be thousands of dollars. A bonus game is usually going to pay 20-50x the bet and sometimes you'll get a 100x-1000x but very rare. Sites give free spins to hundreds, possibly thousands of players, so they're not going to make everyone an instant huge winner, that would just be site suicide so to speak. Most are going to win $1-3. It's just a little weekly bonus that some sites offer.
All the time that I won huge amount of money from free spin, they are all bonus games which can be the only huge winning among the free spins. All other ones that I have won are not up to $5 most of the time. To withdraw on the casinos, you will have at least $20. Some bonus game can even be in bitcoin which can have a minimum withdraw of 0.0005 BTC or more. This makes the low money won to be used to gamble and sometimes it can end in loss. Which simply means the casinos are collecting back what they give as free spins.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever won any significant amount from free spins? on: June 17, 2024, 07:50:27 PM
The free spins were from the $20 I deposited on coins.game. They have this promo every week where, once you deposit they give you free spins without any wagering requirements. They gave me 12 free spin worth 1 usd per spin for my current VIP level and I won 200 usd something. But right now, I don't recommend playing at that casino because of my experience.
I do not quite understand what you mean. You were given 12 free spins that each free spin is worth $1 and you won $200. And you later included that the gambling site is not recommended because of your experience. What is your experience with the gambling site? Never mind me, I just which to know in case.
68  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: newbie at Strike wallet on: June 17, 2024, 12:10:42 PM
I wanted to see how the wallet is and I downloaded it from Google Playstore. I was unable to go further as I saw signup and login in. I used an email and password but it is now showing 'begin verifying' which means I have to submit my identity documents but I can not do that.

That means it is not more than a custodial wallet or even an exchange that call its owners called it wallet. You should be able to see how you can contact their customer care on the app. Make use of it. Contact their customer care.
69  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto casino without investment on: June 17, 2024, 05:33:25 AM
Even running a faucet need some sort of funds to maintain the site. What more of a casino, as you need bankroll on this business. Otherwise, you will be running a fly-by-night casino and you won't sustain the business. It means, you are just probably wasting your resources to begin with. Better use your small funds in other ventures, which you think will only need small amount of money to operate with.
Some people just think that they can achieve something good like to start a business without much money and turn it to a multimillionaire business. This is possible but not with common businesses. Casinos and faucets are common businesses and there are many sites like them that are well marketed and needed better competitors and not what are inferior to it. If someone start these kind of businesses or almost all kind of businesses nowadays, the person really needs to spend money on a lot of things. There are money to run servers, money to pay many workers because you will need workers. Also money is needed for marketing. There are still some money which we have not even mentioned that would be needed for the existence and progress of the site.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why can't other pools do the same as solo.ckpool to not mine empty blocks? on: June 16, 2024, 02:09:33 PM
Is there something fundamentally different in how solo ckpool is run that cannot be replicated in these other pools?
The big mining pools really cares about the money (bitcoin). If you mine an empty block, you will not get the transaction fees reward but you will get the mining reward which is now 3.125 BTC.

So those big pools and most other pools will prefer to mine an empty block and earn 3.125 BTC than not to mine a block at all when they supposed to mine a block.
71  Economy / Gambling / Re: Crypto casino without investment on: June 16, 2024, 07:40:07 AM
Theoretically you can launch the website without the investment but don't you think you need advertising? If you do not have money to advertise the product then you will not receive any eye ball, and project will not make you any money at all. When a project or business will not make you money then it become a burden for you.
I learn something when I was reading about blockbuster movies like from Marvel when I was reading about their budgeting and how they make money. What I read was that they can use $150 million to make the movie and spend another or almost $150 million for the marketing. Just marketing takes almost half of the budget because they know how important marketing their movies is very important. Another thing is that someone needs to start a business with capital. Having capital is very important for a business startup. If capital is not important in a business, you will see almost everybody doing such business. Even people that are not rich at all will do it.
72  Economy / Gambling / Re: Warning DWC on 8bet.io , They Recently started limiting withdrawls on: June 16, 2024, 07:33:08 AM
He is probably looking at their longevity as he has been with them since 2021 with no issues. However,  the recently developments that he noticed are serious red flags that things are about to go south with that casinos. Introducing weekly withdrawal limits where there were none before and introducing other conditions like the OP said, will make me worried if I have my funds in that casino.
Longevity with fair to bad reputations. What a gambler should look for in a casino is reputation. What people should be expecting from the casino now is accounts restricted from withdrawing. It is possible that the casino misappropriated their customers money and not having enough money as before. But if the casino do not fall now and still has customers, the customers will gamble and lose and the casino will rise again. But I will prefer to just leave the casino. There are many better caisnos.
73  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one of those did you partake in? on: June 15, 2024, 07:33:32 PM
Whatever the amount is, your purpose to gamble may vary and we all have our own personal reason why we gamble.
The purpose for gambling should not be two as gambling should just be for fun. Another reason people gamble is to earn money but which is very wrong.

Losing is not fun actually but if you have a lot of extra money, then why not?
If you have a lot of money, it is better you channel it into something else that can be profitable and not use more amount of money to gamble.
74  Economy / Economics / Re: Saudi Arabia ends 80-year petrodollar deal with US. on: June 15, 2024, 08:08:55 AM
The US has been very centralized and sanctioned some countries which some countries do not like and it is leading to de-dollarization. Some decentralized money like bitcoin would have been better to be the world's dominant currency.

But most of this countries do not know the plan of China. I hope they will know that China is trying to have the world power and shift the power from the West to themselves. Countries like Russia and Iran also want that.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to resolve gambling related wallet issues on: June 15, 2024, 06:04:25 AM
Unfortunately I don't think there's much recourse for the customer. If funds deposited are locked by the exchange, he will need to complete a KYC procedure, if not he will need to mix his funds or to convert them into another cryptocurrency on another exchange before sending them to this exchange again, and from another address of course.
I do not really understand you. You mean that the coin might be seized or locked in which the customer of the exchange that his fund was locked because he deposited from a gambling site will need to complete a KYC verification. That might be true but I do  not know. What I am confused about is that you further said 'if not', which means if the coin is not seized. If the coin is not seized, how can the person know that he need not to send coins from gambling site when he does not know. Or what you mean is that to avoid the coin not to be sized? It is better for the person to send the coin to a noncustodial wallet instead and not an exchange, especially if it is bitcoin because bitcoin transaction fee is high on exchanges than usual and this exchanges like Coinbase make the gambling rules hidden in their ToS. You do not need to convert the coin to another coin. People have said they send the coin to noncustodial wallet before sending to the exchange and no problem after they send it to the exchange.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will ecommerce websites start accepting Bitcoin as payment soon? on: June 14, 2024, 08:37:11 AM
Bitcoin is easy to convert to fiat. If you are using a payment processor that is not accepting bitcoin, you can easily convert the coin to fiat. This has been what I am doing. I convert some bitcoin to fiat for spending.

There are many websites and e-commerce that are accepting bitcoin as payment. It may not be directly but indirectly through a payment processor. But I noticed that those sites may not offer bitcoin payment for people that wants to buy from another country.

If signature spam and shitposting is something that will keep this forum alive, then we should refrain from reports as often as possible - although realistically, compared to a few years ago, the number of reports is very low. It's not that there is no reason for reports, but it is obvious that many who actively did it got tired of the obvious fight with windmills.
There is nothing to get tired of. There are many people that are constantly reporting posts that are needed to be reported. What you can say is that some people were reporting the posts in the past but they are no more on this forum. But there are still some people that are still reporting posts that need to be reported. People that are reporting posts will likely keep doing that. If you have been reporting posts, do not be tired of it at all. It is exciting and makes this forum better.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often do you receive bonus bets/free spins? on: June 13, 2024, 04:43:26 PM
In slots it is quite common. It is what I play lately and it is not uncommon that you end up playing free spins from time to time. But at the end of the day you always have the HE against you, the only thing that can fix a bad session in a moment with a big win thanks to the free spins.
Yes I will say that also. In many sport betting sites that I am that are only having sports, their bonus is very low. I was thinking it is because they have many customers already. But there is one sport better site in my country that offers many bonuses to customers.

Congrats on your winning from the free bets, that's a decent amount of money but I'm wondering how much you have wagered before you get the free bets?
One more question, is the free bets you get come without wagering requirement?
What most people do not know is that they are losing much already until a gambling site will start giving them bonuses. They are giving them part of the money they have lost. Does time deposit bonus is not among.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC mining pool question on: June 13, 2024, 11:19:44 AM
It’s the kind of pool where you invest bitcoin and it generates returns. If you invest $100 you get up to $300, $1000 and get up to $3000. Not sure if it’s cloud mining?
It is a very common way that people are scammed. It is better you avoid something like it but that is if you want to avoid scam.

I told a friend of mine to avoid cloud mining a year or two years ago but he did not listen. He paid the money and he later told me that the profit were sent to him, but just like 2 or 3 times and no payment again. Out of 100% money that he payed the scammer, he lost more than 70%.

Some are even just from scammers that will not pay anything back at all. You will pay the scammers the money and you will not be given any profit in return and you will lose the whole 100% money that you paid the scammer. This is very common. I am wondering why there are still many sites that have cloud mining and not yet banned till now. I think this type of scam should have been forgotten but it is still common.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC mining pool question on: June 13, 2024, 10:46:58 AM
You know the person very well? Hope it is not cloud mining? If it is cloud mining, know that the person can be scammed or the person want to scam you.

If you want to join a mining pool, make research on these pools https://www.stelareum.io/en/mining/pool.html

You will need to buy your own miner (ASICs) and you will need to have cheap and good electricity. There are many mining reward calculators that you can use online to know if mining bitcoin can be profitable for you.

If you calculate it and it will not be profitable is what you found out, that means you do not need to mine bitcoin. There are other ways to earn like to invest in bitcoin at the right time.
