I am quite impressed with how many posters here still hold out such hope for DRM.  It indicates that DRM has a great community, and could've been successful had the dev not been in it purely to cash out at his first convenience.  If there is any chance for DRM going forward, it would be to get a proper dev on board, and I don't mean hiring a dev that will take the bounty and cash out at his first convenience.  DRM needs a dev that is in it for the long haul, that truly believes in the value of the coin a year, maybe 2 years from now.

I need someone that can create a website that Sync users can log in with their wallet address, see exclusive offers from retailers around world.

Is there a bounty on this?

Yes

Let me know what you need specifically.  I can get this done.

Well its a start to code. We can always use Darksend later

Yes, this is true, but so can everyone else which I fully expect will happen.  Once a method for anonymization is proven, nearly every coin will have to integrate it to remain competitive.

I loathe to belabor the point, but please think rationally about this.  If you are able to, look at the github for this coin and judge for yourself, please do so. Thus far, the so called Zerocoin integration is no further along than merely including the libzerocoin files in the project.  This means that DRM is starting literally from square one.  Assuming a dev actually has been hired, he has a mountain the size of Everest to climb, and the odds aren't very good.  There are many other well supported coins that are also after the Zerocoin prize, as well as several competing coin mixing technologies that achieve similar anonymity that are further along than we are.

None of this means DRM can't still prosper, but it does mean the whole Zerocoin thing is a charade.  If you are valuing this coin based on the hope that Zerocoin will materialize on the 24th, you may want to rethink the position.

One point about chinese developers and the chinese in general, I am an American of chinese descent and at one time was the director of off-shore operations for a software development company here in Seattle that out sources to China.  They are certainly very capable and well educated as developers, but by no means superhuman.  You may think $1200 USD would mean a lot to a developer in China because the exchange rate is approximately 6 CNY : 1 USD, but that is simply not the case.  The Chinese government artificially manipulates their currency to be weak against the USD in order to bolster exports, but domestically, the consumer price index reflects otherwise.  The bottom line is $1200 USD is a nice start, but not nearly enough for a project of this caliber.

I think YOU need to examine and realize it is him...

I am not sure how linking to the launch page of another of his scam coins disproves anything I've said, but I'll surmise that you believe launching a coin is so difficult that only a real dev can achieve it.  If so, let me point you to this as just ONE example of how easy it is:

really? scam for 3.5 btc? hard to imagine

According to his Fb, he works at a pretty low end job.  It's not too hard for me to imagine.

How many AT&T are there in Boise?  If this was a scam wouldn't he be worried and removed his employment in case people call up and look for him?  Wouldn't he remove his GF from his Facebook? Is this all worth 3.5BTC?  Dreamers. I am disappointed in you guys. This is weak.

I think you need to examine his Fb and realize that this is 1. not a dev, and 2. not a very responsible or rational person in general.  Let me refer you to a post he made less than 1 month ago: http://awesomescreenshot.com/05a2tie1ee

He makes $11.50/hr at his day job, and he is quite happy about it.  As a life long software engineer myself, I can tell you that our salary potential is just a bit higher.

How much money did he make from all this?

Not much in the grand scheme of things, but for someone that works as a sales rep at an AT&T, it probably seems like a lot of money to sell your soul for.

I'm not in this coin so I feel weird posting it but he seemingly scammed Hashcoin so I thought I would see what was up.  Turns out he was busy doing other things yesterday.

Sorry guys.  I've been there before so I know thoze feelz...

Edit for sauce - https://www.facebook.com/carsen.klock

I think this is it dreamers.
I wish I found his Fb before investing so much into this coin.  He is clearly not a dev.

Can someone fill me in on what happened?  I read through the last couple of pages, and all I found was that the dev transferred donations to a different address and that he hasn't posted in two days.

Actually nothing has really been substantiated.  It's all just speculation right now, but it's not looking very promising.

Balls of steel here hodling. Dev is not even required for this to be successful. I could have told you it was probably him emptying his wallet when the market tanked to 10k this morning on polo.

I think most people bought into this coin for the promise of Zerocoin integration.  Without a dev to implement that, this coin doesn't have much to distinguish itself besides a nice logo and a generally friendly community.

The whole zerocoin thing was always straight up BS.

At least he got the coin working flawlessly... I'll give him that.

I think now-a-days it's pretty easy to copy the source for another similar coin, modify the specs a bit, and release a "working" coin.  The rest all comes down to hype and marketing.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN][SYNC]X11 | POS| 1,000 Coins| |5 days mining only|Multi-Pool | on: May 16, 2014, 10:06:07 PM
Most coin die because the dev lack fund and only a fraction of community members donate to development fund. The premine is for development fund and i dont need anyone tracking who i am paying bounties to. Your concerns should be about the value of the coin and how you going to get the portion of the wealth not monitoring dev activities.

But we can do zero premine and start fund raising for the development fund but how long before we covered only promotion costs, multi-pool, web design so on

Yeah, I don't have a problem with your premine.  I agree there needs to be a bounty pool and development fund, but it would also be nice to have some transparency, and some proof that this coin is what you say it is.  I would contend most new coins die from lack of investor trust.  Once the coin is seen as just another PnD or scam, it is all but over as investors sell off and head for the exits.

I respect that you want privacy, but you've taken on a public role by releasing a a distributed coin into the public.  You are asking people to invest their money and time.  It would do a lot to bolster trust if you can reveal the premine address.  Again, I'm not here to question your decisions, only speaking from the stand point of me, as an investor planning on buying into this coin.

Been tied up with work all day and just got around to reading all the post since last night. I have been a supporter from day 1 but it doesn't look good to me. The dev has not communicated anything here for several days. He was online last night but no post from him. If you check the donation address for the 11000 coins we all donated for hiring a dev it is now empty. Please do not take that wrong, I am not accusing anyone of anything but it is not a good sign. No wonder the price is suffering, people need some positive news in order to keep the faith.  My guess is that we may be on our own.

Guess we should have known better. Collegestudent mentioned that he spoke with the dev and that the dev was having some real hard times. Then, trying to help out we put $1,200 U.S. right in his hands. My guess is he saw that and possibly was in way over his head on the zerocoin implementation and decided to do what has become way to normal in the crypto world. In hind sight we should have thought that through and used one of the more senior members to hold the funds in escrow until we saw some results. Live and learn.

With that said this coin is still a great value if we look at the basics. Extremely low number of coins, good but reasonable interest but need something to drive demand. I was looking forward to the multi-pool to do help but will be surprised if it shows up at this point. If it does it will still help some but until we have zerocoin or something to make this coin stand out it is just another PnD. Services would help at this poin tas without the dev and zerocoin we need something to help hold interest.

Anyone here willing to take over if he does not show? I just do not have time or the skill set. This train needs an engineer.

Dev now would be the time to speak up if you are working on things. If not your silence will let us know the community needs to take over.

Yes the basics are definitely great on this coin.  If we can create some real demand for the coin, it has serious potential.

I may consider offering to take this coin over if the dreamcoin dev is no longer interested, but I doubt it would help much in the near term.  I have a day job and a family, which means very little time for extracurricular activities.

Well the dropping price I must admit is scaring me. but I reckon it will recover. Holding and hoping...
i bought some DReaMs only to get over 1k mark.
good thing i have some NAUTs which is helping big time to balance my book...

Diversification is a smart, and fundamentally sound move.  Glad things are working well for you.

It starts with S and NO to the premine address because i am entitled to my privacy and as well as yourself.

What have you got to hide? Transparency is crucial for confidence in a coin, especially one with a premine.

There's absolutely nothing to hide but i am not releasing my address.

Hmm ok,  how about this:  what is the version byte of a valid SYNC address?

almost same price as XLB with 10x coin amount. Does XLB have working anonymity service ?

I think you are confusing rarity with demand.  For whatever reason, XLB has enough demand to cover their 10x of extra coin.  Maybe it's their marketing hype.   Rarity helps, but demand trumps all.

@MsCollec
Do you mind posting the address format for this coin?  Maybe post your premine address also?

I have no doubt that a multipool will eventually be ready for DRM.  What I'm not so clear on is if there is actually any demand for these coins where a multipool would make a difference.  The bottom line is there needs to be real demand to drive our price up.

The real value is Zerocoin integration, and as each day passes, that window of opportunity gets smaller with competition from other coin mixing technologies and the recent rise of DRK.  If the dreamcoin dev is serious and hasn't already cashed out his instamine, he needs to do whatever is necessary to get Zerocoin working in DRM.  Giving us a few updates would help too.
