61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Watching the games you bet on is meant to be a part of the fun. (2) on: September 23, 2024, 10:30:02 AM
This discussion is mostly about sporting events, for instance, football.

Do you consider gamblers who bet on fewer games that they can watch to be gambling more for fun than to make money?

My answer
It is a yes for me, because fun is not just in betting on these games, but following up with these games by watching them contributes to the fun you intend to have. If you bet on so many games across many leagues that have kick-off times clashing, then you are obviously betting with more intention to make money than have fun because there is no way you are going to watch all these games at the same time.

What do you think? Is it possible for a gambler with a long bet slip to be gambling for fun?

The thing is that if you are watching a game that you are betting on, it could be a good strategy to bet on the team that you don't like.

Basically at the end of the match you will either be happy because your team won, or you will be happy because you won some money.

It's a simple yet interesting strategy that always makes you happy, for one reason or another.

Why would a team that once ruled the entire football world falter without one player? This is now the question of thousands of football fans? The history of the Brazilian football team is probably known to everyone who understands football well. Comparing their past performance and current performance shows a stark difference. We all know and accept that Brazil produces the most star players in the world of football.

Yet why would they perform poorly year after year without just Neymar, they need a replacement for Neymar who will be able to lead the team forward properly. Currently Brazil team has many talented players but they are not ready to give their best for the sake of their country. For example, Vinicius Jr. is currently rocking the field for Real Madrid, his playing skills are very high, yet we have not seen him perform so brilliantly in the national team. He is one of the worthy contenders to win this year's Ballon d'Or for his good performance at the club level. If any team in the world depends entirely on one player, it may not be possible for that team to progress, as is currently happening with the Brazilian team.

Brazil is still a solid team, it's just that it is hard to keep always the first spot, forever.

Also the other teams are getting better as well. Brazil will no doubt qualify for this world cup.

In this world cup there are also more spots available so it makes it even easier for Brazil to qualify even if they are not performing at their best this time around.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA method on: September 23, 2024, 10:25:49 AM
~snip~
That's decent advice, especially for those holding in non-custodial wallets (as they are supposed to) and DCAing often, i.e. every week. Assuming such investors would want to sell eventually, ideally at the peak of the bull run, that's exactly when the probability of a clogged blockchain and transaction bottleneck (aka high fees) is high. It's hard to predict how bad it can get, so consolidating from time to time during quiet time sounds like a good idea and doesn't require much effort.

The thing is that if you think that Bitcoin will continue to rise, then there's no such thing as a selling event in a bull run, because it will be worth more later on.

If you DCA for a long time, decades even, and then use it whenever you need it, you will probably be earning a lot of money, without needing to follow any markets.

As they say, it is time in the market instead of timing the market.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Presidential Debate Funny Markets:Will Harris say Weird? Will Trump say Bitcoin? on: September 23, 2024, 10:24:01 AM

that's correct
we can even say that is untraceable if done correctly
that's why I think these markets shouldn't be up
much easier to manipulate than election results, rate cuts, etc...

Election results, rate cuts, and other events like that are almost impossible to know because it depends on multiple people. So those are actually random.

But yeah, small things like the color of the tie that someone will wear on TV should probably not be allowed.

There can be so many people earning so much money in those kinds of "gambling" events that it opens up the probability of rigging it, and as you mention, it is hard to actually catch someone doing it.

I was surprised when I read the title of this tropic. Because I never knew about any such sex game before. But when I saw the matter, what seemed natural to me was whether it is possible to create such a competition? If possible, can everyone participate in those games? How is that possible, whether a player or a spectator? I can definitely say that even if such competition is organized it will definitely stop. Also, when I searched online on the subject, I found on Wikipedia that the game we discussed was a lie false.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden_sex_competition_hoax

That's exactly how fake news travel. One person makes something up, it gets posted somewhere, then somewhere else, and then it ends up at a place where you have a higher credibility so you don't fact check.

It's basically impossible to fact check everything you see on the internet, and most people don't do any kind of fact checking, so I guess fake news are here to stay.

But in this particular case, I think it's OK because it simply appears as an idea of something that potentially could happen. I think it's good to keep your mind open for new things.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Long-term profitable strategies on: September 19, 2024, 10:36:13 AM
Ah, but you know, I'm not very expert in these things... but you're right about this casino issue.
The one that always wins is the casino, I have never seen the owner of a casino cry in poverty.
Casinos need to keep their work straight too, not cheat its users and continue to market the product with new promotions every months and so on.

If done properly, that is the only long term profitable strategy to "make money from a casino".

Who knows, most of the casino owners have been addicted gamblers previously and they eventually understood their folly of wasting money in playing. Now they are making money every single day and can play for free on their own casino.

Its a long term thought and comes with its own problems but is a full time job and a fruitful one too.

Yeah, the thing is that casinos can already make so much money from gamblers that it does not really make too much sense to me that they would scam people.

If anything, casinos want gamblers to come back, so they juat provide a good service and they will become rich.

It is a crazy business really.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Harris Vs Trump - Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election on: September 19, 2024, 10:33:37 AM
Harris Vs Trump - Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election as a person who lived in foreign country for now I will vote for trump hahah this because his recent approach to cryptocurrency  I mean his approach to crypto and want to make crypto-friendly country is a good move in my opinion.

For now as a crypto user we also need a good government to support us and the United States is become a leader for other country in terms of economic we can see like ETF for btc when the SEC is finally agree than there is other country who started adapting bitcoin etf now Europe Canada and Australia has its own Bitcoin ETF

I think at the end of the day it does nit matter what any single country thinks or does about Bitcoin.

Bitcoin does nit care about any of this. You can still use it.

And there will be another block in about ten minutes.

Just like the sun rises, a new block will be found.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: European Sex Championship 😳, Will you Bet? on: September 19, 2024, 10:31:17 AM

Well you do got a point but we do know that this is something that shouldnt really be that exposed publicly yet these are intimate times or moments on a certain couple should really be having.
Making it as a sport doesnt really have any sense on which it would really be that recommended to be seen even if we do say that they would really be organizing it for it to be done in
private on which its true that there are countries on which are really that liberated and there are those places on which are really that conservative. This is why we do see
these type of possible happenings just because it is really that getting in line into their culture and thats why they've decided to have one.

Well, I guess it could be adapted to different cultures....

For example beach volleyball is usually played in a bikini, but some girls from I think Egypt competed with a full swimsuit covering all their skin.

I guess we could have the same here where people are somehow having sex but you can't see any skin.

Nit sure if that would also not be ok though

I'm sure that if we can think about it it happened at least some times
trump could simply tell a friend he would say the word and tell the friend to bet big on the word "Chinese" or whatever...

not random at all

number of tweets is another one that is always on polymarket and makes no sense.

Yeah, exactly that is what I'm talking about.

Specially given that Trump has been endorsing commercial products while he was the President.

Also recently I think he was endorsing some kind of shitcoin....

Wouldn't surprise me if they rig something like this type of betting.

But in the event they rigged a bet like the ones mentioned, wouldn't it be subject to criminal sanctions? in my country it would, and I think that we discussed something similar when we talked recently about a professional american football player who got fired and fined because of such practices.

In any case, maybe it's not considered a crime in the USA, but it would have a political cost if it were discovered that they did so.

Maybe, but it would be extremely difficult to catch the person.

Imagine your friend is Trump, he tells you he will do what the bet says.

Then you can even ask someone else to place the bet.

That would be so difficult to trace, especially if you keep the amount relatively low every time

At the end of the day it is a 50% chance, or similar, you could just be lucky
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why buying a home is usually a terrible investment (vs buying bitcoin). on: September 19, 2024, 10:25:14 AM
If you don't owning a house, you will saving your money to buy that house. But if you already have it, you can buy another thing for the investment. It is not be a problem if you buy a house as your investment but you must think that a house needs maintain and the cost sometimes will be higher if no one live in that house. You need to think about the inflation that will need money to pay. Maybe you can think to have the other investment such as Bitcoin or gold so you can allocate your money in the right thing. If you buy a house because you want to rent that house, that can be your additional income because you can earn more from that house.

The most important thing about this that many people seem to forget, is that you are going to save so much money once you own it.

You will not have to pay either rent or mortgage, and because that is usually the largest expense it means you will have so much more money to invest.

If you are rich already you might get away with renting, as long as you already own some other property that you can move to if needed.
71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA method on: September 18, 2024, 09:53:36 AM
~snip~
DCA is a very popular strategy among all investors these days. By adopting this strategy we can buy bitcoin consistently at a fixed price in any market situation. The bottom line is that investing in this method means you don't have to worry about any market conditions as you can buy bitcoins at any moment with the funds you have. DCAing is easy for everyone to invest in as you can make bitcoins in small chunks weekly or monthly as per your ability. Since In this system, investors invest in small amounts of Bitcoins so that if held for a long time, it will grow in size, meaning you will have a lot of Bitcoins.

Sure, but what if you instead of simply buying a small amount many times buy a large chunk right now?

You would be saving in fees that exchanges make at least, that's a win.

And the thing is that no one knows what the future price will be so you can win more or less the same anyway compared to DCA.

I guess putting a name to it, DCA, makes it sound scientific or something. It's just buying a bit frequently. That's all.

just hearing the name of this competition makes me think hard, how can the relatives of the participants allow their relatives to join a competition like this, sex should be taboo because children will definitely hear about this competition, it will interfere with the growth and development of those who are underage.

btw a competition like this is not worth betting on, the issue of endurance in sex is not something that can be measured, the bettors and participants are only fulfilling their fantasies.

But at the end of the day it's simply how humans reproduce. There's nothing bad about it. It's just how life continues.

I think different countries see sex in such different ways that is fascinating.

Some cultures are comfortably naked and having sex while others are completely covered and never talk about sex.

But in every culture people still are having sex.

It would really be just that depending into someones approach or wish in life. Who wouldnt be wanting on having their own house? Even myself had been long time on wanting up a house
but i cant really just that able to sustain on paying up that mortgage on which it do usually last 20-30 years contract and this is something that i cant be able to confident assure myself that i could finish it of.
If we do really tend to make out some calculations then we could be able to save up on paying up some rent even for the rest of our lives and basing up on what you have elaborated about getting kicked or lost up that rental house then in todays availability of such rental houses then there's no worries about getting one but of course prices would vary or the rate on which it will really be giving out some hindrance.

In regarding about in torn between investment or making a house then it would really be just that according into your own preference and risks taking. Some people are really that risks takers on which they do have planned on establishing themselves on dealing up with some business or investment before they would be planning on creating their own house on which this one isnt really that a bad idea either. It is really just
that only a few who would really be considerate on taking up such step just because they cant be able to bare up with the risks involved.

Yeah, I guess it also depends on the country that you are living.

Some countries have a huge home ownership like China, at 96%, whereas Nigeria is at 25%.

Here's the data: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_home_ownership_rate

I think it's important to quantify also the amounts involved, because it might be extremely expensive and therefore you would be pretty much in the same situation as renting.

Kamala is getting ahead more and more, the debate took a while to show up on polls and the polls done after the debate is showing Kamala getting to nearly +2 difference and that's going to be something that will be getting a lot better. I believe that we are going to see Kamala win this one if there isn't anything else shocking happening as well.

Trump got a lifeline again with "shooting" done on the golf course, we should be realizing that just random shooting during the same place doesn't mean a death or threat or anything like that, I am not even sure if any democrat would even do something like that and I think it is just a fake thing.

I think we should be doing something that will be done anything like that. We can't really consider Trump do something like this and they will do fine. I think it has to be important for them to just realize that Kamala is just way too far ahead right now. Of course anything could change with time of course.

There's still a lot of time until we get to the election day.

Many things can happen from today until that day.

I mean, we just saw another assassination attempt against Trump, who knows what else will happen.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why buying a home is usually a terrible investment (vs buying bitcoin). on: September 17, 2024, 10:44:31 AM

I think that the reasons that you've given here for owning a home is good enough to see it as a good investment, that is asset that you can hold and pass on to your other people. Taxes and mortgages on homes varies depending on the location and country but for most places mortgages are not meant to tear your pocket, even when you pay the tenament rates to the government the house still belongs to you. Remember that if you don't live in your own house you'll still need to pay rent which is not cheap compared to taxes and mortgages. Having a house as an asset doesn't stop the person from investing in Bitcoin, you can decide to use huge amount of money or the amount that you can afford to loose to DCA and hodl Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a volatile asset and that means that it has a season when you can sale and make profits but real estate always appreciates in value no matter the season.

It clearly depends for each person, but I think that owning your own home makes a huge difference when you are older.

Sure, while young you can do anything, rent, move around, couch surf, do whatever. But good luck after you are being kicked out of your rental at say, 70. That would suck.

Also, the amount of money you would be saving by not paying rent after you finish paying your mortgage is massive. Night and day.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Presidential Debate Funny Markets:Will Harris say Weird? Will Trump say Bitcoin? on: September 17, 2024, 10:41:59 AM
To be honest, your questions are confusing. I got the first question correctly in terms of the person who asked it it is linked with 1.05 odds. But I can't say the same of the subsequent ones, are you the one asking the additional questions and needing answers from people or is it part of the betting questions from the sportsbook/casino?

Either way, this is not the kind of bet I can risk my money on. The risk is high and the casino/sportbooks has the opportunity to argue against the truth which makes it more risky.

I always think about these kinds of bets...

Basically, it is not a random event, really. I mean, yeah, for most of the people, buy clearly a public figure will have a group of friends and connections, and they will be able to bet on this, and even influence what the person will say.

I don't think this should be considered as random, because clearly people can disturb the outcome of the bet.

I wonder if many people have done this already.

Now we are in 2024, the World Cup will be held in 2026, they still have a long time to prepare the team well, yes, although 1+ years will feel very short. The most important thing now is that they must focus on being able to be in the 2026 World Cup, while they complete or improve the shortcomings they are currently experiencing. You are right, Brazilian players are good when they appear at their clubs, but when defending the national team I see them not being so optimal. Could this be because most of them have big names so that egos are created which affect teamwork? or maybe there are other things such as the coach's strategy is not suitable for Brazil's playing style.

One big incentive is probably going to be money.

I don't think the national team in Brazil will pay close to what these world class players get paid in their leagues.

It's probably mostly just for a national pride. So, if they actually have financial issues for example, they might not really be that motivated to play for the national team.

I giggled at your last words, it's outrightly not a new thing indeed, but for the sake of younger generations it shouldn't be scored Grin The moderated patterns (having it behind closed doors) is better although, the adult niche is growing rapidly, adding it to the list of approved sports, would affect how schools consider sex. What do you think of students training ahead of a competition like that?

Your comment made me remember something. Long time ago, when photography was just starting, many people didn't really know how other people's places look.

Sure, you might have seen your family and friend's house, but nothing like a mansion, etc.

Over time, a whole industry of interior design started to emerge, getting more and more popular thanks to photography.

In a way, making something public that was private before might even create completely new industries... let's see what new industry is created with the Sex Championship!

There is still enough time for everything to change, there have already been many things that have changed opinions for one candidate or another. From assassination attempts to public debates, I think that this is not all that will happen that will radically change opinions, because there is still a lot of time, a whole month and a half. Nevertheless, I just now went in and looked at the probabilities of victory, and they are almost equal. Of course, it may be that with such probabilities the voting will begin and in that case I think every vote will be decisive, perhaps we will witness the thinnest margin between candidates in the history of elections in the USA.

Absolutely.

I think people already had forgotten about the initial shooting against Trump, and he just got a second scare.

There will definitely be more ups and downs to this story.

It's far from over, even after the votes are counted I am sure there will be more things happening.
