This is a 72 hrs notice for final coin swaps.



If you require a coin-swap (which i urge you to do so ASAP!)

Please send me a PM with the following information:

1) The number/amount of AERO coins you wish to have swapped.
2) Your Personal AM Wallet address where you would like your swapped AERO > AM coins sent to.
3) The Transaction ID of your sent AERO *after* you have received the address (from myself) where to send me your AERO.

** I will provide you with the address where to send me your AERO coins (on an individual basis) as i do not wish to be inundated with a sudden
influx of community members sending AERO coins as it make my life a heck of a lot more complicated to keep track. **

So, please submit your requests and I will deal with them in an orderly fashion

As such i will deal with manual swap requests on a individual basis. All of which will be processed within a "firm" 24hr (maximum) time frame window from start to end of the process..
The current lead time is about 2hrs backlog

Confirmation about cryptsy wallets are still online and working!

AERO coins are NOT stuck on cryptsy exchange the AERO wallets is still free to move OUT.
The Cryptsy Exchange were kind enough to allow their wallets to stay running for the duration of the swap to help facilitate their customer interests
and also to enable me to be more fluid in processing manual coin-swaps.
This arrangement can change at anytime so be warned. The sooner you swap the better!

This however, cannot go on indefinitely.

FYI: I had just "received" coins which were just sent to a Cryptsy account!
yep, leveldb needs to be built separate detect_build_platform. its in the make file TARGET_OS='uname -s' is the issue (for win toolchain). for UNIX its a matter of +x

humm.. well a small thing about minor issues.. its the minor issues which if left unchecked can quite easily cause a cascading effect and snow ball out of control. your correct in the fact about this issue being shared across *most* cryptos (but not all) as if you checked Aero-qt-anon-rev2 build this issue was fixed and thus, my previous point about being able to nail down the exact dependency and methods in the code which is the crux of this problem a much easier proposition to tackle as i know how to reproduce and how to test against it.

Unfortunately AM uses a different codebase from AERO codebase not quite its sibling from the pull request of the main AERO branch but very close to the private MASTER branch which is on my machine. This fix never made it into this initial AM release but will find its way in during the next iteration of the AM build. After which point, once confirmed as "fixed" i will submit to the leveldb project as an "issue" have it confirmed as an issue and then apply the fix to the public MASTER AM branch. SO, if this fix is accepted and resolves the issue no more cryptos based of the latest leveldb deps will have this problem well most that exploit leveldb for that matter.

This issue also goes deeper than a simple dependency issue it also has the makings of problematic compile time issues, meaning some of the library's used in the build process do not play nice with gcc 4.2 this is something which again is the result of many inter-processes reliant on shared library resources at compile time built with linux binaries are that are also created using gcc 4.2.. like i said its more than a minor issue. The work-around to this issue may indeed be minor/simple however the issue is not minor nor will be the fix.

FYI: The closest race condition i can reproduce is found in the following git issue tracker which most closely resembles this issue.  https://github.com/google/leveldb/issues/203
It all steams from how the deps use fcntl F_FULLFSYNC when fsync() maybe a better approach.

italeffect, yes, i agree with the apparent effect of the issue it presents, however i kind of know where the issue really steams from in the way which leveldb is instantiated during the calls. I can repeat in QT5.3.2 (this wallet QT lib build) and in earlier version of QT build platform independent tests it will take some detective work to nail it down.  QT is now a dying technology for wallet related stuff imho and should be phased out in favor of modern node-gyp toolchain build processes for hybrid native HTML5 apps in due course then soon to be replaced with pure JSX based alternatives.

But in the meantime QT wallets more than provide a flexible and stable, solid platform for cross-platform networked clients..  Who knows maybe soon we will have some kind of "firm" spec. framework setup by a crypto-working group for crypto-related tech developments beyond those of BIP provide to date.. maybe wishful thinking

1) reboot OS
2) run AeroME-qt.dmg again
3) ** these two steps maybe enough to resolve the issue.

Failing that, can you backup your wallet.dat (if you have one with any coins in) attempt to remove wallet-qt client and install it *fresh* again.

its a known issue with leveldb/ BerkleyDB, As suggested in this answer to remove the blkindex.dat there will be no point as the AM Blockchain is small (16849blks so far) and is no real point to issue a -rescan command so may as well try clean install and fresh sync.


FYI: this build has been tested on Mavericks (Version 10.9), however with the latest OSX Yosemite (version 10.10) security policy changes and the way in which kernel drivers are called and proc escalation managed in the later OSX builds there maybe some deeper issues which may need looking into.

I maybe jumping the gun a bit here BUT If this problem persists I will delve in deeper to rectify any possible bugs with the QT. Before all this please PM me your system spec. and basic info plus debug.log *first* so i can take a look at whats going on with this problem.

make sure that the app folder for the wallet has the read/write/execute for group/user set correctly. this maybe another possible cause for the above issue, please test anyway to see if the wallet-client can access the directory's and files under its install path.

Good, yes i thought it would rectify itself after second attempt, only now i'm seeing it fixed itself.. and yes this is a common issue.. something which needs to be patched with leveldb source repo itself, so that other projects dont suffer with this problem, tbh im surprised its been left like this for so long now "unpatched"..

Anyway, when i have the time i will submit a bug-fix and commit to the leveldb project repo.

I have not had a proper chance ask if you have all had a enjoyable festive period. I hope you all enjoyed time with family and friends.

Quite obviously you may have guess that the coin-swap process took longer than anticipated. And indeed from your perspectives happened
without problems however there were significant issues which required attention in order to ensure the process went as smoothly as possible.
 The network was safe to use as soon as it went live however we did have some teething troubles with some of the back end systems erroneous
 conflicts occured which required attention but were resolved quickly once identified.

There were several issues which occurred during this swap which added significant complexity to this swap process which was handled and
managed without us having to taking down the network.

There is still observation work ongoing which needs some coordination to ensure everything has fully been resolved, but you are safe to use
the AM network and also safe to transfer AM.

In total there were 6389401.26321756 AERO which Bittrex team Swapped over to AM.

12000000 AM (Total) - 600000 AM (Dev fund)  = 11400000 AM (Used to swap)

Out of the 11.4M AM we have remaining 1283448.02120354 AM as the community fund.
This fund is to be used to carry out the final manual AERO > AM swaps.
Any AM remaining before the 16th Jan 2015 final cut off date will be used for good causes which the community will decide of its usage.

yes, that's correct your holdings will have to be moved from Cryptsy Exchange over to Bittrex. Its an unfortunate necessity. however as Idol pointed out the TX fee is very low in comparison to the value this change will bring to your overall investment IMHO.

The parties involved in the coin-swap process, like exchange operators, etc we have all been brought up to speed. We are all ready to start the coin-swap process.
The coin swap process is automated. meaning, you must have all AERO coins up in bittrex account on the 25th December 2014 ready for the swap on the 26th December.

We will begin the swap phase on the 26 Dec 2014  (Midnight PST) so another word the 27th of December the AERO > AM Coin-swap will be over.



Steps to follow

1) Sign up to Bittrex and create an account (if you have not already done so)
2) Send your AERO coins TO your Bittrex wallet BEFORE the start of the coin-swap.
 
3) During the coin swap phase you will have your AERO coins (which are in your Bittrex account) swapped over to AeroME (AM) "automatically" as set out prior based on the following ratio set at:

4) AERO Blockchain and nodes will remain up and active for 30 days AFTER the END of the coin-swap which is on (Sat 16th Jan 2015) After this time period the AERO BC will die !

5) It won't get converted until 26th @ (23:59:59 PST) and all they will do is run a script that checks Aero balance and determines amount of AM and places that balance into accounts

6) The AERO Market will remain open until the START of the coin-swap [26th December 2014 (midnight PST)]

Ok, these has been several ongoing discussions with regards to the ipo market being closed and things restored back to how they were pre IPO announcement.

The Bittrex team have been working on this as several issues which required their attention to ensure everything went according to our plans.

Now, the market has almost been closed and are carrying out final portion of this clean up task.


Coin-Swap.

To ENSURE things are completely clear and EVERYONE understands what is required and how things will work i urge you all to ask me questions.

This is the basic formula/calculation for the coin-swap phase

Coins Swapped

7.2mil are the total max number of AERO coins in circulation
11.4Mil is what is left from the 12Mil New AM coins MINUS the 600k AM coins for dev work and future expansion projects.


Ratio

so 1 AERO to every 1.58333333 AM

Details

The actual time and date for the swap to begin is still a bit vague for a firm target window at the moment. I will however ensure you all have plenty of notice and nothing will come as a surprise.
All you have to do is have your Aero coins in a Bittrex account and swap over.


Remaining coins

During the coin-swap phase there will be some coins which will be left  remaining (un-swapped) These remaining coins will be held in a PUBLIC address which i will have access to.

These remaining coins will be held for late comers, for example for people who missed the swap date.

This is a fund, which depending on its size, we can all VOTE on its usage for projects outside of the scope of what the community can raise.

To be clear This is NOT my personal account this it the community fund.
For community goals which is decided by consensus after a thorough debate and period of discussion. A cooling off period can also be enforced if this is what we so agree to.

We can impliment any safe guards you guys can come up with to make you feel safe about any misuse or abuse of these funds

Transparency is key and I am open of suggestions on whats best but to burn these coins just doesn't make sense when they can be put to good use for any future problems.

Any coins which have matured whilst held in the community fund will also be made public and used in accordance with the community's wishes.

But to be even more clear I will not accept this fund to be used for any "Direct" market stimulation ideas or something which gives an unfair advantage over natural market forces.

I was thinking in terms of PR/Tipbot/Marketing/etc. AND NOT in terms of price manipulation etc.  

This is your fund and is to be used on future work which you see fit and will not be spent without following the proper procedures mentioned previously.  


Important Notes

After the coin-swap cut-off date has passed we will leave the Aero chain running for 30 days.. After that 30-day period we kill the Aero blockchain

I see you have all had a bit of time to think through the coin-swap and poll. Again, thank you for taking the time to vote with your fingers!
It seems that the majority have kindly decided that the maximum number of coins should be "rewarded" (if that's the correct word) to myself in the amount of 1 Million AM coins.
I am flattered and deeply moved despite the issues and controversies which I brought about to you all.

Obviously, 1 million coins, no matter what the current market price, is a large number to be holding. In light of that, I will gladly accept 600k AM, with the remaining 400k to be given
back to you guys during the coin-swap phase.
This will be a REAL help to myself and also to my family who rely on me to make ends meet. I hope to repay you all X10 fold when my work is complete


(All of which I will outline in detail, consult with you the community before making a final decision (if any) to make sure we all agree!)

mikerutch, have i done something to you in a previous life? Why do you call me a scammer when you do not know me? If your thoughts are based on the issues I caused this past week,
 then I can only say sorry to you. And considering this is almost the first post I have seen you make in all of 200 odd pages, then I'm assuming this is the reason why you are calling me
a scammer. If my actions from this date forward cannot persuade you to change your opinion of me, I would greatly appreciate it if you could give me the benefit of the doubt.

I admittedly made a series of errors which lead up to this whole fiasco, but please know that I am doing something to make it right.

As it has been pointed out several times in the past there are many, many ways if one was so inclined to "scam" cryptos/community's. However I am able to earn an honest living without

I am fully committed to this community. Admittedly I did have a good old "kick in the nuts" with this poor decision and poorly timed ipo. However, I have picked myself back up,
dusted myself off and resumed to continue my work with renewed vigor, purpose and a semi-clear consequences.

I still have a lot of making up to do towards this community and also the crypto community as a whole, but you will all see that I mean what I say.

I have seen first hand the power of a strong community in action right here and when the community said no, I listened. Is this not atypical scammer behavior?

Yes, this is exactly the reason why i asked for a date/time. Bittrex team have been great and the guys have been holding for directions from myself, whilst i consult with the Community.
Its only fair we don't keep them holding on forever kind of thing. Bittrex also need to make preparations but im sure if i can giv them a solid date and time it will be a great help.

I do not want this process to be "pressured" into an outcome. It will take as long as it takes, but im sure now I have explained my reasoning why we need a time you guys will do right thing.

wow! this is something else completely from what i expected to see this morning when i logged on. I admit it has put a smile on my face to see you guys care about me and this project as much as I do.

As you can imagine its been a real battle to pick myself up and "keep at it.." but none the less its what i do. This counter proposal put forward in whatever amount or way in which its finally agreed upon
its not the amounts which makes me smile but its the thought that you guys care Its humbling to see people i have never meet before but somehow i feel like i have known them my whole life to see past their frustrations and anger and still make an offer like this. really, its blown me away!


I guess i will leave this decision to wiser minds than my own but remember I care a great deal about you guys and the Aero project as a whole

On a side note:
I hold very little in regards to personal wealth in cryptos as a whole.
Aero project has swallowed a large chunk of my personal wealth, excluding time etc. (yes, nobody asked me to, I do this because i love doing so).

Again we must reach a consensus!!!
