61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: stellar going up on: August 13, 2014, 03:24:09 AM
Stellar is really a phenomenom. So many people are talking about it suddenly. Really scary!

Because they are giving it away freely. Some people make a quick few hundred dollars from the campaign.

Which exchange let people buy stellar? Do they have a working wallet yet?
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Black Tuesday for altcoins! on: August 12, 2014, 04:13:42 AM
Bitcoin is going down also.

If all alt coins are denominated in bitcoin, shouldn't this be considered normal?
64  Other / Politics & Society / Re: US health care mandate (Obamacare) on: August 10, 2014, 10:47:25 PM
The path to hell is paved with good intentions.  Obama espoused his good intentions of having everybody covered for a low cost.  The reality is this cannot happen, especially when all other insurance in the US is for catastrophes - not day to day expenses.  Health insurance shouldn't cover well child visits or annual checkups - those the patient should be paying for.... but that would require the patient be responsible for their own fricking body - something I see in less than 20% of my patients now.
I don't think it was so much a good intention, but rather a way to spread his liberal ideals of having a big government. He knew that people would not be able to keep their health plan, yet he promised that people would be able to do so. He raised taxes on everyone in order to pay for this new social program.
He said the average family would save $2500.

They didn't.

My plan more than doubled in cost.

I really hope that Obamacare program will eventually succeed in USA, in the present or modified form, now or later in the future.
I have many friends in uSA and their biggest concern is what will happen if they become sick because they can't afford health care.
You call this universal health care socialism but for us, in Europe, this is perfectly normal, that government provide basic health care for everyone.
If you want better health service, you pay.

You should look to the reasons health care is so expensive to begin with. Hint: it's got a little to do with regulation and lobbying.

In Europe it is normal, but is total shit for the who genuinely need health care. It can't last in its current form.

Enlighten those who are new to health care why it is so expensive?

The downtrend for dollar chart dated as far as 100 years old.

Many institutions and whole political system have to change for the trend to reverse.
68  Economy / Economics / Re: Is 1 bitcoin a decent and good investment? on: August 07, 2014, 06:51:31 PM
Buying 1 bitcoin should be considered insurance rather than investment. Same with gold.

It is a way to insure against total economic collapse.

71  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The easiest and cheapest way to buy bitcoins in the US on: August 06, 2014, 07:45:24 PM
Safest is to use coinbase.

Bitstamp is only cheap if you buy large volume. For small volume, coinbase is cheap also.

Bitcoin is not a get-rich scheme, many people in this community has less than 1 BTC.
It takes hard work, either by trading, working, developing etc to earn bitcoins.

Many still expecting bitcoin to go up to 100k per coin. Check out the speculation section.

76  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you really earn more money because you went to college? on: August 01, 2014, 02:58:35 PM

The data during recessions shows that the college educated people have low unemployment, and high school graduates have higher unemployment.

Presumably the college educated move to lower jobs, and the less educated people become unemployed.  So keep in mind that competition is a complex phenomenon, and the degree is still worthwhile.

A lot of jobs are starting to not care about a degree as much as experience....

That being said, a lot of "Business" degree jobs just require any degree, they don't care.

Where I went to school for Computer Science and am finding it tough to get a job at programming.  Everywhere I look everyone wants 3-5 years of experience coding with no degree required...

I have an IT job at a help desk but I wouldn't mind trying programming out for a living..

If you like coding job, join a few open source projects. You will get noticed fast if you are good at what you are doing.

In most cases yes since diploma is needed in applying for a better paying job. But it is not always the case since even you are not a college graduate, you can earn more money by being hardworking, skilled and wise.

There are over supply of college educated kids, MBA and lawyers.

Law of supply and demand will mean wages have to go down for the "elite" due to competition.

What good is one nuke? US has over 1000 nukes.

79  Other / Politics & Society / Re: All illegals deserve to be deported. on: July 31, 2014, 08:44:02 AM
Even the notion of "illegals" is a bit misinformed to me.  Many people are within the arbitrary boundaries of a political entity without documents through no fault of their own (for example, the borders of the country have changed, or the parents brought a minor child who is now an adult).  Sweeping all folks without documents into the class of "illegals" borders on xenophobia, for me.
You mean, we can't call people without passports "illegal"?  Why?

Obviously you can.  My point is that it's a dehumanizing way to look at someone caught in an unfortunate situation with respect to turbulent and changing political winds.  I personally don't like the implication that is given by saying "you are an illegal" to a person.  It sounds like their existence is illegal.  For that reason, I prefer the term "undocumented".  It refers to the person's status as having no documents without dehumanizing.  My opinion.

Immigrants should try to make their own country a better place. US didn't become successful over night and had to fight a civil war and face multiple economic depression to make it happen.

80  Other / Politics & Society / Re: All illegals deserve to be deported. on: July 29, 2014, 11:18:48 AM
Illegals exist all over the world, why only americans can vote?

For me all illegals that are not political refugees are liable to be deported, because most of them are linked to crime.
because this issue you find it more in USA than in other countries.....i will change the poll so you can vote too .

Of course there are more illegal in US than anywhere else. The local population refuse to work in the field and "low" paying job.
