61  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 17, 2014, 10:01:39 PM
Okay, so reading from where i left of the other day.

1. If you have a "new idea", please start a new thread, perhaps under "Project Development" or "General Discussions", there is a reason we have such sections..
2. If you are using the thread to make the posts count for your signature, CONGRATULATIONS.
3. Still no comments from KLEE, after the lead of twitter messages, is he still gone for the day? with almost $700K stolen from him? and not to forget the community funds of 10Mil NXT, which did not belong to him in entirety?
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: URGENT rivalling an unconfirmed unauthorized transfer of 52 BTC on: July 16, 2014, 06:05:02 PM
Edit: Nevermind, I see that blockchain.info has an out of date database.  Looking at blockr.io I see that the transaction actually already has 12 confirmations. It is too late to do anything about it.

Thank you for the info. We were about to use this; http://www.bitundo.com/ but to no avail now.

A little too late.
But nice find.
63  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BitPool] Mesh networks to bypass ISPs on: July 16, 2014, 05:50:57 PM
----Very Very Expensive----
Something similar to the mesh network offered by the concept of Google Drones.
there will be a need for Antennas with good range, and Satellite Uplink and Downlink To cover the whole world with the mesh.

Instead, if we find a way to mask the data, under the packets which will not face The control from the ISP's would be easily the best, cost effective way to accomplish what we desire.
I maybe blunt and naive in this, but with the right minds working on it, it is very likely to be possible.

Thoughts?

Try the steps and approach used by Klee in this post
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=686275.new#new

he faced a similar ordeal lately.
But, yes, BTC transactions once made, can only be acquired back, if the person who received those BTC transfers it back. Undecided
65  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 16, 2014, 05:31:04 PM
where do you get a lie detector test from ?
Is bestbuy or alda having a sale on them ?

i actually believe that you believe you would really do that if you were in Klee's shoes.

seems like a great way to lose all ya friends.

I suspect someone put a keylogger in yoour machine somehow with an attachment or manually.  you should give all people in ur circle a lie detector test, this is one way, that you will get ur btc back fast.  If they are not willing to take, the ones that understand will take the test as this is alot of money, if they are defensive then you will know who are the cultprits.

If my freind asked me too, I would love to take it to find out in our groups who betrayed, who, I have no problem being asked to take one and its not hard to find a lie detector professional if you have the money to do it.

Well, if it would be only you in KLee's group, then yes.
But, there will always be individuals who take it the wrong way when someone dont trust them.
Life is that complicated at times
66  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Android app to show best coins to mine and new innovating coins on: July 16, 2014, 05:02:26 PM
Just need your comments on it... would you be interested in an android application that will show new crypto-coins by date (what they offer, current value, difficulty, has it hit the market or not, trending) and also best coin to mine at current rate.

It will use data from the forum and other places to show new coins with innovating ideas, also coins that are profitable to mine and will update in real time.

would anyone be interested in something like this?

would like your input. If there is something out there like this, please provide me a link:)

There was a need for something like this for a longgggggggggg time.
Do this ASAP, its getting hard to keep a track of the alt coins being released every moment.
67  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 16, 2014, 04:58:52 PM
I'd like to understand how this man got back around 500btc... Huh Or did i misread something

The hacker went cold feet, and wanted Klee to stop the manhunt. So hacker reckoned to make do with 500 BTC to save his back.
68  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 16, 2014, 04:50:18 PM
@klee look at your Twitter private messages  Wink

I've sent a message to you some days ago and maybe there's the key of everything.

Does anyone have a followup on what happened with this post?
Maybe this is the new lead?
69  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 16, 2014, 04:38:23 PM
Bitcoin are easier to move and easier to hide, that's why they are better than gold.

Say that to KLee, i feel sorry for him, he lost 1170 BTC lately. He recovered a fraction of it though.
70  Economy / Services / Re: I was hacked (1170btc stolen) - 500btc max BOUNTY on: July 15, 2014, 10:39:54 PM

This probably should be the link to take you there.

Interesting project. Would love to see more campaigns to be inducted.
72  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 15, 2014, 08:47:16 PM
If given a choice to walk away with either Bitcoin or gold of equivalent value, what would you pick?

Asians and Westerners were asked in Taipei in Chinese and English if they would take Bitcoin or gold home with them that day, and the answer might surprise you...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6GiC8dqN9A

We just shot a video outside the Taipei 101 skyscraper area here and gave people a chance to answer if they would walk away with either Bitcoin or gold- and why.

If you were approached and were offered the same deal, would you walk away with Bitcoin or gold in your pocket, and why???

I would rather walk away with both.
As only limited number of bitcoins can be mined (21million approx.) Gold is limited to. It has been the source of spending power for a nation, where its currencies value is drived by the amount of gold the country holds.(this is one factor of many other contributing to the currency value.)
So yes, walk away with both, stash your gold far away from prying eyes, and bitcoins a little farther then that.
73  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bit451 - "decentralized YouTube" (distributed anonymous p2p media network) on: July 14, 2014, 10:26:22 PM
This sounds like a very interesting idea.
I'll be sure to read through the white paper soon and get back with my thoughts.

Have you guys heard of MediaGoblin, who are/were more-or-less wanting to make something similar (but I believe development ceased or is very slow at this time at least)?

I do not know about media goblin, but i heard PirateBay was working on something similar (that is if they are still free), i believe they were planing on launching their browser for their torrent media?
74  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] First Actual Android Bitcoin Faucet! on: July 14, 2014, 10:23:40 PM
has anyone tried this yet...how much is the payout?

Haven't tried it yet because I don't know much about android security but if it is legit I think it will be the same as most faucets.

possible malware in the app is whats holding me back. Even the owner of this thread have not made any comments on it yet.
75  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook accepts Bitcoin? on: July 14, 2014, 09:58:36 PM
Facebook accepting bitcoins, is maybe the last piece of the puzzle the BTC community needs.
A company which has approximately a billion users, will definitely tip the scale towards BTC.

but, at the same time, if facebook instead launches facebookcoin, i would not trust it. as facebook might have a strong(and unfair) lead on the currency.
76  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] First Actual Android Bitcoin Faucet! on: July 14, 2014, 05:01:46 PM
is this open source?

I like that question. If it is open source, would be more trust worthy to test it. Considering how Android is very notorious when it comes to malware.
77  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bit451 - "decentralized YouTube" (distributed anonymous p2p media network) on: July 14, 2014, 04:20:30 PM
Hopefully this UML of the Bit451 technology stack will give a better idea of the architecture and how it all fits together:

Ah yes, this clarifies it to the core. Wonderful idea!.

79  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bit451 - "decentralized YouTube" (distributed anonymous p2p media network) on: July 13, 2014, 10:10:23 PM
This seems like a good project.

I believe you have already done your research on Youtube's CDN and its algorithm of distributing videos based on popularity? (will be very very helpful in reducing the network overhead, and transmission delays.)

If not, you should research a little bit about Youtube CDN network on how it realizes pseudo-decentralized architecture (from the infrastructure's point of view). Might help you push your development a little further.

Apart from that,  i am overly curious and interested on how are you going to overcome the very-very-very-high network bandwidth such a project will demand. There are ISP's out there who are actively throttling Video Streaming service speeds. (this will be your biggest challenge.)
80  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 1Zerobit: Signup Successfully, and get $50 on: July 11, 2014, 09:51:57 PM
is it working?
It is working, but there are some issues the development team is working to fix. You can always signup Smiley or keep watching this space to see when we update?
