61  Economy / Speculation / Re: today's price drop related to OKcoin futures? on: August 12, 2014, 04:06:03 AM

62  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What do you think about the actual world conflicts? on: August 12, 2014, 04:04:02 AM
This wars/conflicts that we are witnessing today could be a prelude to a World War. Just look at the nations aligning themselves. The biggest war on History is on the horrizon.

The core of the warfare will be done via currency and economic. And lesser countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Georgia and Ukraine suffer conventional gun and bullet method.
I don't think this is very true. Few countries other then the US are big enough trading partners to other countries to make economic warfare effective.

Oil and gas export from Russia is big enough to threaten Euro Zone. Diverting all the energy resources to China will have huge ramification for US and USD.

64  Economy / Speculation / Re: Am I the only one who wants bitcoin to tank? on: August 10, 2014, 10:21:41 PM
Miners who are hodling their mining results are hoping for a low or relatively no rise BTC at this time. This keeps the difficulty from rising like crazy and better results off of the same hardware. The last 2 difficulty rise have been reasonable thanks to the stable BTC price.

That is an interesting perspective. Why wouldn't they sell to make price drop and possibly more miners quit so difficulty drops or slows further?

I guess many miners just hold on long enough to their coins in order to make a better price. But at a certain point they just can't wait any longer and have to take the price the market currently offers them. Why would they stop mining? It's the only thing their machines can do. They need to mine while the difficulty is still 'low', man!
I don't think many miners do this today. Several years ago, this was more common as miners had to pay much less for electricity and for their equipment (the amount of electricity was less and the cost of equipment was less), but today a high portion of a miners costs is going to be electricity and this bill needs to be paid somehow.

The equipment cost is high also as all the "revenue" from ASIC miners are in the first 3 months and it will become obsolete after 4-5 months.

The reason why bitcoin price can not tank a lot lower from here. If it does, most miners will shut down the machine right away and the network will be vulnerable for attack.

Price correction will weed out weak hand and put them into the strong hand. In that sense, price "tank" is a good thing for the fundamental of bitcoin.

As the fundamental for bitcoin improves over time, so will the price.

Quote
While it may be true that certain jobs get boosted because of technology. Facts remain as technology get more advance, there will be more surplus of labor that has to go somewhere.

Technology is a tree, everytimes technologies are appearing, several specialization and combination of them of it appears.
Computing gives rise to AI, cloud computing, web design, photoshop expert, mobile designer, SEO, community managers, developers, embedded device developers, system developers, designers.
The more we know the more there is to know, the more specialization appear and merge of knowledge between seemingly disparate fields. (Nano technology, bio technology)

Human knowledge is a fractal, the more you zoom, the more branches appears, and the perimeter increase to infinity.
And the farther we go the faster it zooms.

Sure we'll need at one point to be life long learners (as a developer, I am), and it will be hard to adapt for some people... And it is already hard, as a trainer, I can tell you that old developers have a hard time following what is going on.

This is an amazing time, truly amazing, but adaptation is becoming even more important than before.

Specialization has its own downfall. The cost of replacement is high and training workers to do certain tasks are not easy.
67  Economy / Economics / Re: Will Bitcoin be Blamed for the Coming Economic Collapse? on: August 07, 2014, 06:39:07 PM
Definitely. People will blame the well off and everyone else but themselves.

The interesting question will be, will there be another next generation coin that can replace bitcoin or will bitcoin continue to rein supreme.

Have not seen any good games for a while. All the game producers still producing games that were "good" in the past.

No innovation and same old mechanic.

You can earn bitocoin the same way you earn a living.

Start a business or offer a service and accept the payment in bitcoin.

78  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Fox News viewers are uninformed. NPR listeners are not. on: July 31, 2014, 08:38:07 AM
FYI, i watch both the colbert report and the daily show.. and i've also been watching last week tonight with john oliver. i think it's actually better than the daily show, and almost as funny as the colbert report.. and overall, i find it to be more substantive in bringing the topics to the audience.
I'm convinced the daily show and colbert are nothing but propaganda machines, as well as most any other TV media productions.

Stewart and Colbert are comedians and not news anchors. Viewers watching the shows know these guys are jokers.

Fox News, on the other hand, advertises themselves as "fair and balance".

See the difference?

American, with the exception of internet savvy type, are generally misinformed.

But essentially you're saying that those with the ability to conquer have the right to shape the future of a country and the people within it. I suppose that has happened a lot historically.

Those with the ability to conquer have the social, economic and technology advantage on their side. They have earn the right to shape other future.

Those who are being conquered should learn their mistake adopt to new way of doing things. Should they correct their mistakse, they too have the right to do the same to their enemies.

And if someone robes or rapes you on the street one day, will you also blame yourself for it?

The social advantage include having law abiding citizens which contribute positively to the country they are residing in.

Raping and robbing happen often in the conquered nations as you often read on the news in Muslim and Hindu countries. Do you think such countries "earn" their right to exists? What surprise me the most is the west often accept these cultures into their country with open arm and invite the same kind of problems with bring down the immigrants own country.

Your argumentation is totally wrong/false, simply because, crimes will always flourish in poor countries/regions no matter what confession they are, and it's not about the culture per say, you mentions Muslim countries for example then lets do a comparison shall we, the amount of crimes in the UAE or Qatar, is much lower than most western countries you are talking about, yet on the other hand, if you take an example of a poor country such as Somalia or Sudan you'll find a lot of problem. it's the circumstances and living conditions, that push people to do such crimes in general not their culture or origin and saying otherwise is just stupid

Do you see this kind of crimes in Japan, South Korea and Singapore when these countries were as pissed poor as Somalia and Sudan? They were in bad position, learn their mistakes and decided to correct their mistakes.

You can also compare it to US before the industry revolution and Germany after WWII and see how quickly the countries recovered from extremely bad position to where they are right now.
