Looks like Bitmain might have accidentally released the new firmware for S19 Hydro models, a few days early. The currently listed firmware for hydro models on their firmware page is from Dec 15th, 2022. https://imgur.com/a/0vVM401I don't have any hydros, but those who do might be able to provide more details on efficiency improvements.

This is probably just an undervolting firmware that will run at lower hashrate but higher efficiency.

Solar almost never makes sense. Why do you want to do this? Coal is basically solar energy, that was converted into plant matter through photosynthesis. Nothing wrong with using hydrocarbons.

You can buy a s19 and undervolt it with aftermarket firmware to use around 1300 watts to stay under your monthly 1000 kwh target. You will probably get 50Th or so on a s19 with that undervolting.

I compiled a lot of information that was floating on the interwebs, along with my own engineering and design experience to draft a comprehensive guide on bitcoin mining farm design. Part 1 is focused on airflow handling. It also includes a handy calculator for sizing exhaust and intake area. https://altairtech.io/designing-a-bitcoin-mining-facility-airflow-management/Comments and feedback are welcome.

Did you set up some type of active cooling to cool the heatsink? Its pretty much required with these devices.

At AltairTech.io we recently started carrying GekkoScience products. You can find them here https://altairtech.io/product-category/miners/gekkoscience/Right now we have limited stock purchased from sidehack, but we plan to purchase more of these for retail sales as they become available. The pictures shown are of the actual product. Everything ships from our St. Louis, MO location within 24 hours of order.

I'm mining with ViaBTC Pool. This is a hardware issue that i don't think is related to the pool. I have to remove the one problematic hashboard to make the miner work on the remaining hashboards.

About 30% of the new whatsminers we've purchased over the last few months are DOA on one hashboard (typically error 540, 541 and 542). We started purchasing whatsminer in 2020 after the Antminer S17 series reliability issues, but it appears that whatsminers are having the same issues now. Anyone else notice a drop in quality from MicroBT?

We carry repair and replacement parts for most Antminer and Whatsminer models. We manage our own megawatt scale mining farm and understand how critical it is to minimize downtime for bitcoin miners. We carry all our inventory in the US and orders typically ship the same day. Bulk discounts are available and 5% discount for paying with Bitcoin. https://altairtech.io/product-category/parts/#WeMineBitcoin

The key to stress free operation is minimizing your operating cost. A lot of the operating cost is power, so getting cheap power is critical. If you are a low cost producer of bitcoin due to cheap power and efficient mine management, you are not all that affected by price fluctuations. Difficulty adjusts with price and when price goes down, its usually the high cost producers of bitcoin that are forced to stop mining.

So we have multiple m30s units that have a problem with one hashboard. Something like 'error 542- Slot 2 loss balance'. Miners with this type of issue, seems to get into a never ending, restart loop and don't hash on any hashboard, even though the problem is with just one board. We realized that we can physically remove the problem hashboard from the miner, and then the unit starts hashing on the remaining 2 hashboards. However physically removing hashboards takes time, and messes up the air flow dynamics inside the unit.
Anyone know if there's an easier way to 'disable' one problem hashboard on whatsminers without having to physically remove the hashboard.

Intel doesn't have a good mobile phone chip either. They are just behind in everything that's now datacenter or PCs.

Apparently asic.to has released a beta version of Antminer S19 firmware that gives its it a 40% boost without immersion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZs9RhDGP0ECan't wait for this firmware to release, so we can get our hands on it.
