61  Economy / Economics / Re: How will the BRICS currency influence Bitcoin? on: January 13, 2024, 08:51:13 PM
The "fight" that you guys have about UK or USA or basically just lets say "west" to nations the in the east, such as Russia and China, is lovely to see by people who are not from any of those nations. I suggest you keep that up, we love it when West fights East, and vice versa, it benefits us the most.

I do hope that USA economy crashes, I also hope Chinese one too, and UK too and Russia too, when that happens, it always benefits us from smaller nations, at least nations that are not that big. We benefit from the crumbs when the cake is gone, and if it is like this, I am all for it. I believe that the reality is that crypto will be getting greater and greater, we are going to keep seeing people invest a lot more to it.

Yes, let all the major power's economies crash and all the smaller nations start fighting with each other which will lead to World War 3. Great idea after all i must say. This will also help to reduce the over population problem of the earth. A powerful nation is essential to keep stability in the world because just think what North Korean would do if the USA didn't exist. south Korea would be no more and japan would also be in danger do you think little kim would stop there?

If the USA economy crashes it will create such instability in worldwide economy that we don't know its aftermath. Crypto will also be affected because there is so much USD inflow in crypto than other currencies.

Update for Telegram and Discord participants:

1. Those who have joined the Discord and telegram campaigns need to join the discussion in the server. If we haven't found any messages from you every week in the project server and telegram group, you won't get any stake.

2. After the start of a week we will stop allowing new participants for that week, and their entries will start counting from next week.

3. If you are rejected in the Telegram campaign, fill out the form again by following the rules we will start counting your stake from the next week. It is not allowed to remove your avatar or personal text. If caught we will reject your approval for that week.

11/12/2023: Edit: Change of rule 1:

1. The team is not happy about the spamming happening in the project telegram group and discord server. So there is a small change of rules: Join discussions in other active crypto-related telegram groups and on the Discord server. Copy that message link and submit it through google doc. For week 1 those who are approved in the spreadsheet will get their stake. From week 2, new rules will be applied.

19/12/2023: Edit: Due to the spamming in the main projects telegram and discord group the team got bad impression from the project investors and decided to discontinue the telegram and discord campaign from week 2. All the participants who got stake in week 1 will get their token but the allocation will be 1/4 and 3/4 of the allocation for the telegram and discord campaign will evenly distributed to twitter, article and video campaign. All the participants can now remove their avatar and personal text from their profile.
64  Other / Meta / Re: Is this quality of life idea? on: December 05, 2023, 09:08:42 PM
Whenever someone mentions coin ticker with prefix $, site automatically hyperlinks it to coin tracking site (cmc/cg). For example, $BTC, will be automatically hyperlinked like this $BTC.

It's just idea I had in mind, it could be useless but I wouldn't know, second person can judge better.

What if someone says a word and a token exists by that name? That can be a scam token and lead an innocent person to lose his money. This is a good idea for a place like twitter. Can we search a topic directly from google by using the forum or by adding the topic URL from google to the forum with just one click? It can be useful for some people and only a waste of time for a few.
65  Other / Meta / Re: Is it accepted to call member criminal in a thread - no proof, no context... on: December 05, 2023, 09:04:17 PM
Political debates usually consist of trash-talking each other. This is not moderated

You are right and there is even an off-topic political board for discussion. So it will be better to keep other boards clean.
66  Other / Meta / Re: Live my life as a mod on: December 05, 2023, 09:33:08 AM
OMG, why are you hesitant? Why are you even asking? You should ban them both, is that really so hard man? Do you need permission to do the right thing? Ban them and let them come here for appeal, THEY WON'T. believe me because the community will scar them for life if they appeal.

This is not about free speech, this is encouraging violence and is actually a serious crime, please don't let criminals roam this forum that easily.
I agree, it's definitely not free speech if you're intending to hurt someone over stuff that you're passionate about, that's probably the most deplorable thing someone with a belief can do, to try and see those outside of their beliefs as uncouth and evil that can never have a different opinion, inciting violence is such a Twitter thing and I don't think anyone in this forum even likes Twitter. It's admirable that OP is hesitant about this because he respects the person behind those stuff and why they're saying is second only to his concern because OP believes in absolute freedom of speech which isn't the best one albeit the ideal one, so I think helping in and weighing in would help OP and at the same time let's us see a glimpse in what they're dealing with all day.

For me, if someone were to start threatening me or using their faith as a shield against their beration or slander just because I didn't share their faith or that I somehow disagreed with their beliefs, I automatically lose respect for them and either I tell them that the faith they're in is just a leash that let's them act in an unnatural way.

Isn't this the practice of the west where you can mock anyone or hurt anyone in the name of free speech? Our criticism should be based on facts and respective words not only by using foul words to defame someone.

I found it after a few years but it was fun to read. Not sure after how long i have read a massive post like this.
68  Other / Meta / Re: Two ways of develop the forum! The time has come to decide the fate of the forum on: December 05, 2023, 09:18:14 AM
Going with the 2nd option will remove so many problems and inconveniences at once. We are not doing anything illegal here so why look for option number one and i think if it is possible to evade govt restriction with number one then the forum can be a hub for illegal trade.
69  Other / Meta / Re: Mixers Signatures : A challenge or Respect on: December 04, 2023, 07:26:33 PM
Thymos gave us a chance to wear it till 31 dec and the rules will be implemented from 1jan for no one is violating any rules here. If wearing the signature until 31dec let you think that its a challenge and if not wearing it respect then it is up to you. Many people depend on the signature so they are not thinking about any challenges or respect here.
70  Other / Meta / Re: Extensions on firefox with Smart phones [Guide] on: December 04, 2023, 07:15:51 PM
It is not a good idea to use a smartphone with an extension to use bitcointalk, especially if your crypto wallet is logged in there. Also i think the developer of that extension is not online anymore so if anything bad happens you will have no one to blame or the owner will not be able to provide you with any support.

If I hear anything from Sinbad management then I may share any info which everyone should know.

I will count the posts after I wake up tomorrow and pay everyone for the eligible posts.

It was a pleasure working with everyone in this project.

Cheers,

I am removing my avatar and personal text as instructed by the CM.
74  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gold vs Btc on: November 29, 2023, 09:21:22 PM
Who told you BTC is preferred over gold? This is a bitcoin forum so it is obvious that this community will vote for btc but if you go to a gold investor community they will vote for gold. The number of people who like to invest in BTC is higher because the risk it carries is considered an uninvestable asset by many traders. I do like BTC and gold at the same time and i think gold is also a very good option for someone who is trying to save their money from being lost in value due to inflation.
75  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A lesson from other people's mistake can go a long way on: November 29, 2023, 09:17:04 PM
This is a good way to educate ourselves from other peoples mistake but are you sure that only listening to others can help you to avoid those? You can be conscious but without experiencing them by yourself it can still be difficult because there are so many different story and it is not that easy to remember each one of them. Perhaps you can open a self-moderated thread managed by you to share the mistakes you have made in your life. There can be more in the future so you can keep adding them individually so that others can learn from them.
76  Economy / Economics / Re: Luxury and spending lifestyle fastest way to poverty rich kids on: November 29, 2023, 08:56:00 PM
If that rich kid has a business whose revenue can sustain a life like that then i don't see any problem here. We should maintain our lifestyle in such a way that it doesn't cost us our financial ability. If someone's spending is greater than their earning then this can be a problem for him. So we need to appoint someone for our financial management if our financial ability allows us to do that. This will not only minimize our costs but also maximize our investment strategy as that person can enlighten us on new business opportunities.
77  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: November 29, 2023, 08:49:48 PM
It is not as simple as OP mentioned. To create a new job position, at first we need to find out a problem that needs a human being to solve. This can be related to anything like a production, service or something that needs human interference. If you are planning to open a business and give some people jobs there it won't be inventing. Investing means totally new type of job that didn't exist at that time. As an example before the development of AI there wasn't a job called AI instructor where a job position would be opened for someone who knew how to command AI to do something. This is totally new job position.
78  Other / Meta / Re: Has Bitcointalk lost it's appeal for projects to announce themselves on? on: November 29, 2023, 07:50:36 AM
Observed lately that not many crypto projects announce themselves on bitcointalk these days. Currently successful projects like Ethereum, MANA, AAVE (back then ETHLEND), NEM have anns here, but as years passed we see projects stopped bothering with bitcointalk.

What do you think is the reason? Has bitcointalk lost it's charm?

There are projects that made announcements in the forum but the market is bearish and those new projects haven't gotten much hype in the market which is why you are seeing them this way. Another possible explanation is that there are so many marketing options available right now that new project don't want to spend their time designing an announcement thread for their project. Whichever case there is bitcointalk is not only an announcement thread for a new project. There are other useful aspects of this forum that should not be overshadowed.
79  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano X Wallet Types ? on: November 28, 2023, 10:43:04 PM
I thought that was only for the bitcoins legacy network. I wasn't aware that it was for segwit work because its not written in there as other types of network. I will try that next time. Good findings by the way. I should have looked at their blog site to learn about it. That network will send bitcoin to the legacy network if i put any legacy addresses in there. I think I have withdrawn bitcoin to a legacy address before from binance but i have never tried to withdraw to Segwit before.

I think you're confused between deposit and withdrawal.
If you are going to deposit on the Binance app you should be able to see different networks just like this

As you can see it includes the Bitcoin (segwit) network but if you are going to withdraw BTC from Binance the segwit option is no longer there same as the image you provided above, if you choose the Bitcoin network it should support legacy and segwit type addresses(native and nested) I never tested this on the taproot so I don't know if the withdrawal to taproot will work but according to them all types of Bitcoin addresses on mainnet withdrawal should be working.

I wasn't aware of the fact that they are using a general BTC name for all types of addresses. When i tried to deposit i saw that segwit and Legacy deposit addresses were being separated and i know why but i thought it would be something similar in the withdraw option too. The type of address will be visible differently, which isn't why I misunderstood it. I need to make a withdrawal with the segwit address to test this and remove my confusion. BTW it was great to be clear about this small topic that i was unaware of all these times.
