I drop my phone a lot so, every few months I will need a replacement.
63  Other / Off-topic / Re: Answer the question above with a question. on: August 06, 2014, 03:55:51 AM
Are you really talking about this guy?

Are you really asking how to get your hair as good as his?
How did he get his hair to look like that?
Do you know where the barber shop on main street is?

I like red bull. It has just the right amount of caffeane.
65  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: POLL: How do you think government regulation will effect bitcoin? on: August 06, 2014, 03:46:22 AM
The more they regulate it the more attention Bitcoin gets.  Consider it free advertisement when people already don't trust the government.  The people paying attention will likely do what is in their best interest and Bitcoin is in everybody's best interest generally speaking.
This is only true to a point. It bitcoin becomes so regulated that people need to jump through 12 hoops to buy or sell it then the amount of press that it gets will not matter - people will not want to use it or buy it.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ross Ulbricht: FBI Didn't Have Search Warrant, Violated Fourth Amendment on: August 06, 2014, 03:44:42 AM
That is not 100% true. Constitutional rights only apply to US citizens regardless of where in the world they are. The constitution does not grant any rights to anyone who is not a US citizen.

Absolute twaddle. There is no such thing as 'Constitutional Rights', as the rights enumerated in the BoR predate the Constitution. This makes them superior to any governmental division or jurisdiction. As explained in the DoI, they are inalienable, and exist as granted by the creator.
What are you on, because I want some?

The constitution is the law of the land and is superior then any other laws in the US.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are SD Cards Subject to Vulnerability Similar to USB? on: August 06, 2014, 03:43:09 AM
USB flash drive and SD cards are both storage devices and I think they are prone to malicious malware and viruses so we better be careful of what files we are storing on them.

if you are now worried about USB devices this week.. then you need to realise that its been around for 6 years. so why suddenly think that you now this week are at any more risk compared to yesterday, last week, last year, 5 years ago???

the truth is that unless your on a government watch list for a particular reason. then your more likely worrying over nothing
The vulnerabilities have always been there, it is just that there has been little reason in the past to worry about them because there would be little reason to exploit the vulnerabilities.
68  Other / Off-topic / Re: VPNs - do you use it on: July 27, 2014, 06:56:56 AM
Also if you are ever using a public network (school, library, public wifi, hotel internet) then it would be easy for someone to "listen" to your internet traffic and get credentials to any site that you login to or potentially steal cookies that are sent to you, allowing them to stay logged in to your accounts.

Is/isn't simply using HTTPS on a public wi-fi hotspot secure enough? I thought HTTPS would encrypt all the data between the client and server.
Not all sites offer HTTPS and HTTPS could potentially be vulnerable to a 0 day attack.
69  Other / Off-topic / Re: FREE Hugs on: July 27, 2014, 06:28:09 AM
There is a user with -400 reputation with this name( FREE HUGs). Thought the thread would be about him, or created by him.

(Aren't you the user free hugs, are you?)

Hi, want a hug? ♥

I'm a little confused, I read somewhere the TF sold his account? Are you actually TF? Or somebody who just bought his account?
I am almost certain that he is the person who purchased the TF account.
70  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dell : Possible plans to enter mining sector on: July 27, 2014, 06:10:57 AM
I think most of the money that can be made in crypto related mining has already been made. Dell may have profited somewhat when GPU mining was profitable from probably increased sales in gaming related machines.
71  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: investing in cex.io on: July 27, 2014, 06:04:53 AM
Is that just me, but investing in cloud mining is dead, unless you are hosting and selling those gh/s by yourself ?
Not only you. It is either they charge the price of the GH too high or the maintainence fees too high. There isn't any reason for them to sell GH if they can actually mine themselves and profit.
Their maintenance fees are way too high. They do not actually set the prices on their GHs, the market does, however it is very difficult to tell when the price is overvalued or when it is undervalued due to the uncertain amount of future difficulty.
72  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Green Dot is discontinuing the issuance of MoneyPak PIN Reloads on: July 25, 2014, 01:21:16 AM
Not that suprise as many scammers use the service to cash out their ill gotten gain.
I think it was less scammers and more people moving money around the world without reporting it
73  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Indacoin - buy bitcoins & litecoins with a credit card from all over the world on: July 25, 2014, 01:07:35 AM
How much of a premium over bit stamp would you charge for buying?
74  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Ive been scammed, someone please help me. on: July 25, 2014, 12:59:20 AM
These are his details and IP address:

http://www.ip-tracker.org/locator/ip-lookup.php?ip=1.47.40.201

I hope bitcointalk can block his IP
This would be pointless as he can easily hide his IP via a VPN and his ISP will eventually assign him a new IP
75  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you earn money online? on: July 22, 2014, 05:36:34 PM
You can go on cam and earn tokens on cam sites. That is if you are willing to whore yourself.
76  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Banking 101 on: July 22, 2014, 05:18:41 PM
This is not exactly what happens. Everything that a central bank does is done in the name of the stability of the economy it is supporting.
77  Economy / Economics / Re: If a 2nd Financial Crisis is looming, how are you preparing? on: July 22, 2014, 04:55:12 PM

Yes, I plan on buying more silver, gold and Bitcoins over the coming year before the next crisis hits the economy which I expect to happen in 1-2 years time. Only then will I use my cash reserves and possibly PMs to buy up property.

I actually still see the potential for Bitcoin to correct all the way down to $150 or lower. I know most people would find that laughable but I'm pretty confident that the corrective wave of the $2 to $1200 rise isn't complete. Time will tell.

Converting fiat to BTC at regular intervals will help average out the volatility. So you would be fine if bitcoin corrects (temporarily) to $2 or $2,000.
Dollar cost averaging is not good for investments that go straight up, it is only good for investments that have peaks and troughs.
78  Economy / Economics / Re: What Type of Investor are You? (and Why?) on: July 22, 2014, 04:24:46 PM
I like to speculate with my money. It allows me to have the potential of very high returns.
79  Economy / Economics / Re: How profitable are exchanges? on: July 22, 2014, 04:12:58 PM
I think that most exchanges need to have a lot of AML employees to verify their customers' identities and to monitor accounts for suspicious activity.
That may not be a big item in the budget of that particular exchange, I suppose.  Wink

Are there companies that offer customer identity verification services for other businesses?

There probably are but the exchanges still need to pay for this if they outsource it or if they do it in house.
80  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: How to prevent Bitcoins being seized? on: July 19, 2014, 03:41:26 PM
Use a brain wallet.

Store your wallet on the cloud that allows access via TOR exit nodes and use TOR to access the cloud provider.
