61  Economy / Economics / Re: The End of Credit/Debit Cards on: May 17, 2024, 01:50:19 PM
Do you think credit/debit cards will still be a thing after the launch of CBDCs? If not, why? Will payment processors like PayPal, Visa, and Mastercard survive? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

Already the use of credit/debit cards have already reduced since mobile apps banking platforms have been put in place such that everyone can use their mobile phones to makes purchases of goods and other items but there are still payments that requires this credit/debit cards to authenticate payments however this medium of payments have a credit and debit limit which can be frustrating when you want to make large payments or withdrawal that is why Bitcoin will be the end of this debit/credit card because it has not credit limit or withdrawal limit.
62  Economy / Economics / Re: Debt Management. on: May 17, 2024, 10:55:59 AM
For some people, they are in debt and unable to pay it because they don't manage their finances in productive activities, so in the end it will be difficult for themselves. However, it would be better if in this life we did not get into debt, especially for unproductive purposes. It's better to live as we are so that without debt, our lives will be safest from various negative things that we ourselves cannot handle.
Debt is very bad, it only takes someone that took a loan an is unable to pay back due to some financial constraints that will understand what am saying because the pressure alone that your lender will place on you can make you run into emotional trauma and feel like a failure that is why we should be contented with what we have and work hard, earn money of your own and open business and investment with your personal money so that you don't get depressed when you take a loan and not able to pay back.
63  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Do Not Pressure Anyone Around You To Invest In Bitcoin. on: May 17, 2024, 09:27:18 AM
People don't understand that introducing someone into  something is a very big risk because if they are unable to make it just like you preached to them you are in problem because they will blame you for their failures. Investment is full of risks and we all know how risky cryptocurrency is due to their volatility because a some point you are gaining the next minute you are losing, if not that Bitcoin has been different from other cryptocurrency no one would have been so confident investing in Bitcoin.
Never try to persuade anyone to get involved in anything even if you feel you are doing good to them because when you introduce people into something and it didn't work as expected you can even become their enemy in the sense that they will tag you as someone who is against their success in life even when your intentions for them are genuine. You can just tell them what you do that works for you, if they develop interests you teach them but if they don't never pressurize them no matter how friendly and close you people are.
64  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If you can invest in btc then trust it and just hodl for future betterment on: May 17, 2024, 08:53:00 AM
Hodling is just the key to a better success in the industry of bitcoin investment.

Apparently hodling is the key for a better life in the future and it can only be Bitcoin investment which has proven most times that with hodling a wealthy life can be created in the long run. When we consider how the price of Bitcoin have been moving sluggishly in the past week and to see it experience an increase in the last 24 hours is to tell us that you can never be at a loss with bitcoin especially for those who hodl for long term.
65  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Make you no leave very small Satoshi, for wallet during bear run. on: May 16, 2024, 11:23:23 PM
OP the price of Bitcoin doesn't affect the amount of Bitcoins you have in your wallet so no matter how extreme a dip may occur your coin cannot completely vanish except that cryptocurrency vanishes which is very impossible for Bitcoin to vanish so there is nothing that will make the price of Bitcoin to become so low to an extent that the amount of it that you have hodl will now disappear and that is why it is advisable to store your coins in non custodial wallets but if you keep them in an exchange it may likely disappear.
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Swap crypto or sell first then buy? on: May 16, 2024, 10:15:55 PM
Anyway it is your choice if you want to swap the coin to the one you want but since you want to still buy more altcoins there is no need of converting it to fiat just do direct swapping but i would have advised you that since you were lucky to make some profits from the altcoin you invested on, it would have been better for you to convert the coin to USDT and store it in your Spot wallet that is if you are using an exchange but if you still insist on gambling on other altcoins, the decision is yours to swap it.
67  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Bitcoin A Safe Haven Asset For Investment? on: May 16, 2024, 09:54:57 PM
My fellow Nigerians let's discuss, what's your take on Bitcoin as a safe haven asset.
Yes Bitcoin is a safe haven asset in the sense that you can decide to make any amount of transactions without limit and interference by any third party organization and the government (decentralized), you can choose to invest in it by hodling for long term profits so Bitcoin have proven to be a volatile asset that is worth investing on and since it has been able to clear the doubt of those that were thinking and making speculation that it will crash but it has become more reliable and sustainable so anyone who invest in Bitcoin is surely on the safer side perhaps Bitcoin is a safe haven asset.
68  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 16, 2024, 09:32:28 PM
I was just having this thought just within myself (more of an opinion) about some comments have read in the gambling board and complains from gamblers outside the forum, that ever since they have been gambling they have never won a bet amounting to a thousand dollars for it has always been below, while some others say that no matter how much high or low amount they have constantly be using to stake in order to win millions it has never favoured them that it has only been a few thousand bucks they had been lucky to win.

There's nothing like destiny in gambling, no one is destined to win or have a limit of winning neither is anyone destined to lose in gambling but it is just pure luck because majority of gamblers that claims they are experts do lose in gambling so for the fact that someone is lucky enough to win more than other people doesn't mean they are destined to win. Every one have different areas that they are destined for that is why what works for me may not really work for you and you can do very well in a particular area of life so I am too, we should not see those that are always fortunate to win more than others as people who are destined for gambling.
69  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Borrowing without investment to regenerate the fund on: May 16, 2024, 08:38:58 PM
I wonder why the government keeps on borrowing money all in the name of funding projects and paying workers but yet have not proffered any means of paying back those funds they borrowed. Since I was little till now that I am grown up I have always been hearing about the government borrowing money from world Bank and China but I have never heard any day that they have made steps to repay back those funds and that is how different government have been engaging in this borrowing of money to fund projects and other things to keep the country running i begin to imagine what they are doing with the internally generated revenues across the country, it is a shame our government have failed.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin proven many times holders won't regret on: May 16, 2024, 07:39:33 PM
If i were some other people, the first thing i will do is to go on learning and make some findings about bitcoin history on its performance through the chart, speculate on it and have an understanding of how this same coin has been performing over the years and still have its investors trust at hand, this will then give me more confidence on how i can also have an opportunity from where I've seen it to the future expectation i have in it, that if i invest now in bitcoin, the future is clear and bright over my investment without any fear of missing out.
Basically, we make speculation on the price of Bitcoin based on previous analysis and just like you said Bitcoin need thorough research and study to know how the price is being influenced so that we can have a complete understanding of how the price fluctuations works but even if you bought at a high price making a huge profit in the long term can be achieved but let it be that you have a lot of stash in your portfolio because you can't expect high profits when your investment is little.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 16, 2024, 10:19:30 AM
Some people are so addicted to gambling such that they don't even have a conscience about something that belongs to another and if you ask me I will say this is a form of stealing by tricks and anyone who mismanaged others people's funds to play gamble should be punished severely. Back in the days when I was steal in the village, a man from my community was arrested for a crime he didn't commit and was charged to court and the family of the man gave the man's cousin some money to give to a lawyer that wanted to perfect the man's bail terms only for this his cousin to divert the money into gambling and he lost all the money in the process, when the family found out that was what he did the beat him up severely ever since then he has never entered a gambling hall again.

Gambling is a game of risks so you have to only risk what belongs to you and not to use other people's money to play gamble because if you lose it the consequences awaits you so if you don't have means of raising money to gamble just forget about it at that time till you have money of your own.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: May 16, 2024, 09:32:43 AM
I can't say Man U played better than Newcastle, but I guess the home field factor played a major role... They were lucky in this match and to be honest their game was much better than the previous ones... Now Newcastle and Devils have the same number of points in the standings and there is a small chance to get into the Conference League if Chelsea lose to Bournemouth, which I doubt...
I was surprise Manchester United won the game last night against Newcastle United, there win against Newcastle United has given them a chance to qualify for the conference league if Chelsea losses to Bournemouth which I doubt just as you, but football can funny and unpredictable anything can happen Bournemouth can shock the world by winning Chelsea puting Manchester United in a better position to qualify for the conference league.

Bournemouth have sluttered Chelsea in the past before so if will not be a new thing if they win Chelsea and since the season is almost coming to an end some drama may occur so Manchester United may be the favourite to qualify for the Europa conference league though even as Manchester united won Newcastle yesterday, they have to put more effort in their next match if they want to end the season well.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Road to 100k? on: May 16, 2024, 08:48:41 AM
We have seen Bitcoin reach 70k USD and it even reached a point of 71k briefly. We are seeing history being made right here with the new all time high being set once again and it is happening even before halving.

I have high expectations that bitcoin will reach 100k but will it reach 100k without any major decline in price? Does it seem realistic that from 70k, bitcoin will continuously rise up?
that is why we condemn exaggeration and the speculation whenever bitcoin is increasing in the market many people will start the analysis whereby they have not make a proper research to know the exact increment of Bitcoin within the year but speculation will be circulating due to a road side information obtain from people, so from my our perspective, it is known that bitcoin price will increase based on the determinant of the market not to by exaggeration by people who have not make a proper research of Bitcoin
Basically this section of the forum is about speculation of the price of Bitcoin that is why it looks like a lot of users are exaggerating about it's price but even though our speculations may not be accurate but it helps to boost our confidence morale to be hopeful that the price of Bitcoin reach the speculated ATH of $100 and all this speculation we do here works some times. Okay just take a look at the price of Bitcoin now and some days back that the price was dipping so Bitcoin is a volatile asset which the price tends to go forward and backwards and it is what keeps the market balanced so speculation continues.
74  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: What if an exchange refuse? on: May 16, 2024, 07:01:02 AM
Normally make we just talk the truth all this exchanges operating without license and regulations by the country is illegal more because it is something that involves money such that as they are also benefiting from the citizens of that particular country, they also needs to pay matching ground to the government because on a norm Dem no suppose bypass the government go dey do business for their country so even as all of us they blame the government for bringing down exchanges but yet make we see truth talk am.

As all of us dey like this make we assume say oil dey your land and company wan enter to drill the oil, will they just start drilling the oil without paying homage to you wey get the land or the community wey Dem find the oil? So my people even though say the decisions of the government dey affect everybody but yet e no make sense at all the only place wey me I dey frown for government na as Dem say na all these exchanges dey make the naira to dey depreciate like say na today wey naira wahala start.
75  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Global Bitcoin influence. on: May 16, 2024, 06:19:05 AM
With its feature of decentralisation Bitcoin is taking the world Closer to a single economy
Basically Bitcoin will monopolize the world economy in the sense that everyone across the globe can actually transact with each other without having to exchange it unlike Fiat that every country currency varies from one another and some countries feels superior than the other in the sense that their currency have more value but with Bitcoin no one or country will feel superior over another and it will make monetization easy for everyone. The only difference is only that some will acquire it more than others which is normal because there is no way all fingers can be equal.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is going to happen Biden orders remove of Chinese-owned crypto Miner? on: May 15, 2024, 11:27:09 PM
United States President Joe Biden has signed an order preventing a China-linked crypto mining firm, to see more of this News you can click in the link below
Stop spreading propaganda, the news says
Quote
United States President Joe Biden has signed an order preventing a China-linked crypto mining firm from continuing to use land near a Wyoming nuclear missile base.

It is related to national security and does not specifically target mining farms, and the same will apply to all investments, so whether you think the decision is right or not, it is not related to cryptocurrencies.
I was surprised as well to see this in bitcoin discussion, this is more of security related matters instead of cryptocurrency however Biden reasons for signing the order was for security reasons because America doesn't joke with anything about security concerns that is why Biden signed the order. So bad some people don't read the real content of a news before they give their opinion. SMH

78  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If we had higher magnitude of Crypto adoptors and Literates in our society. on: May 15, 2024, 10:14:51 PM
Lets go decentralized, make we abandon anything wey get to do with centralized because the governments can always come after them. If no be Binance wey stand strong by now the government for dun get details of people wey dey trade from the exchange but dem no fit do that one with decentralized exchange and wallets. If you no dey use non custodial wallets today start now before it's too late because after the governments succeed for this one wey dem dey do, dem fit do another one just to crack down on cryptocurrency entirely.

Saying let's go decentralized like how wey we go fit achieve decentralized exchange platform because the system fit dey porous unto say e no go involve KYC so people no go too reason am and talking about non custodial wallets, na person wey chop belle full na in dey hodl or keep yin Crypto for non custodial wallets no be say I dey discourage people wey dey use non custodial wallets but you reason am na e no dey easy for people in the country at all to come dey tell person say make him dey hold coin for non custodial wallets.

In other hand too wetin you dey yarn na the koko be dat because anyhow e be people go still survive so e better say you get hope for somewhere so e go good to just dey accumulate dey go but fear and lack of patience na another thing wey dey worry us for dis country because any small tin na so our body go dey shake.

Is there a measure to conquer this government with our decisions over cryptocurrencies?
Having higher crypto adopters or not no body dey fit challenge government o no matter who you be so even if we have people wey plenty wey get the eye of cryptocurrency well well for we country e no go fit change anything so make we just relax because nothing wey we go fit do.
79  Other / Off-topic / Re: What is the best piece of advice you've ever received? on: May 15, 2024, 09:34:02 PM
My dad didn't send me my allowance for a month when I was in the university not that he didn't have the money but he told me that he want me to understand that nothing good comes easy so I should plan well for a better future by studying hard and told me not to be too dependent on anyone because they may not be available when I need them most and I should learn to survive without anyone not even him my father. Those words means a lot to me and helped me to acquire skills that made me became independent after I graduated and I am doing everything on my own now even though my Dad sends me money at times though I am not yet married.
80  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is procreation really necessary? on: May 15, 2024, 08:54:32 PM
And on the subject of climate change, Procreation in humans is not necessary for
the world and the natural world, if we stopped reproducing the natural world would only
flourish and thrive!

Basically am not saying that procreation should be discarded totally but just a way to reduce the world population and vulnerable children in the society I know that mankind is meant to reproduce their kind but since the world economy is still in a deplorable state now requires birth control, or stop procreation for now till when everything returns back to normalcy that is if it will because with the way things are going across the globe things may get worst than this.
