Bitcoin Wallet

Have you guys had transactions that have not gone thru? or Unconfirmed?

If so, how do you fix it?

I did a google search and it says to close the wallet and reopen, but i have done that a few time already.

Thanks.

Can't see why one would bail: Luck is luck, if the pool has some time without blocks there will be time with blocks. This is the same for Slush, Eclipse, Eligius, BTC50, and whatever other pool you decide to use. It's basic statistics, you will not get a better deal anywhere else because there *is* no better deal.

There are however worse deals :-)

P2Pool is distributed, with no central place that a govt can choke. That's why I like it and why I'll stick with it as is.

Mine on!

I've only been using it for backup for a while now. My node has been running regardless but I am seriously considering not even bothering and just run a bitcoin node on it for the networks sake.

I've been thinking about this for a while with decentralized and trust-less at the top of my list.

I think a solution based on serial micro-payments (or similar) makes more sense and will protect the trust-less decentralized nature of P2Pool.

Today I saw this video, it's "Lecture 3 - Mechanics of Bitcoin" from the Princeton University course, the link starts at 34:30 where he starts to talk about serial micro-payments.

His example is for by the minute telephone billing, it's not the actual solution for P2Pool, but pretty close (I hope)

If you watch, in his example, replace Alice with P2Pool and Bob with a miner...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3hJsFpPmXs&feature=youtu.be&t=34m30s

I guess my first question is can anyone tell me why something like this would not work?

Good info. Thanks.

Spondoolies vs Antminers???

Who is the best for P2pool?

So Good News & Bad News....

Good News - P2Pool finally broke through the drought and found a block. We got paid!!!

Bad News - The block that was found and valid/paid from bitcoind was an orphaned/dead P2Pool share so it won't show on your Nodes.  So kids, let this be a reminder to always have your miners set to submit all otherwise we could be missing more Bitcoin valid shares that are dead on the pseudoshare chain.

Fantastic.. Back on the game.....

Now that Chupacabras, literarily meaning Goat's sucker is back, it is understandable why p2pool does not find a single block.
Get the f**ck out Chupacabras and suck your ass.
I am out until Goat's sucker sucks his ass!
Get out Chupacabras f***cker! Go suck your ass! Chupafucker!

This is uncalled for. Creating an account purely to insult people - reported to moderators & ignored, I suggest everyone else do the same.

Let's not degenerate this thread & p2pool's reputation to that of "other" pool threads.

Wow someone came off their meds! IYFTech I agree with you!
He just angry that he wanted my name and it was taken. Then he did not know what his name mean, on till someone told him. LMAO.

Will I leave P2Pool probably not.  I will run a node because it does not cost a thing to do it.  I just look at bitcoin like a investment and with this luck rate one must be multi diversified.  Not all hashing power on one site.  Yes I am still hashing on p2pool just enough to keep making $$$ when blocks are found.

But bills have to be paid, So yes I mine on other sites as well.

And will move hash power around as i see the most efficient at the time.

Correction, 8 days and on going.

But you don't know how long bad luck will last going forward only afterwards. Even the large pools have a bad luck streak with little to no pay, so that leaves you with PPS to get an even payout and must pay a fee. But you lose out on any good luck and payouts that come with it, which sometimes is the only fun part out of this whole mining adventure.
I know, and for all of you, i never said that this is not the best pool or paying pool there is. All i did it make a suggestion and i got fire from the best hoppers here, and again this pool is not hop proof. If you get people to stay, we be rolling on money as we were a few months ago. I still have my node on, some of my miners here and ill be honest not all of them and not the fastest ones. I made a bigger investment to make more money in P2pool cause i saw the potential. But the way its going i will not have money to pay my light bill if i continue here in p2pool. im praying that the luck get better or the dev does something to keep miners here like a suggested.

You are right. But i rather get paid something then nothing for 5 day or more in a row.

I could not of said that better Jonnie

Ok one question.  What are other people seeing the efficiency for share on there node?  Mine runs between 15-20% mostly staled shares and every once and a while a single orphaned share.  Was just curious if that's the average most have been seeing lately, the longer the node is running the numbers get better. Was thinking about going to a SSD drive but that's down time and cost.

Pear shape looser. that what all you are.. Im making money at the other sites, wile you guys wait for block.. By the way guys have you notice that the pool is under 1phs... lmao
75  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [3500 TH] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: February 12, 2015, 01:42:22 PM
Greed, impatience & lust for profit can often temporarily blind people to reality, causing them to wander around from pool to pool in search of faster & greater profits, until eventually their vision has cleared & it becomes clear that not only are there no fast profits to be made in mining, but also that p2pool is the highest paying pool there is anyway.

See you soon Chupacabras  Wink
Patman, I never said this is not the best pool. It is just dry cause of the users hoping habits. I will be back when i see stability. Thanks.

To the DEV.
This is not hop proof.

Set up that user who GHS drop for 30 min or more lose there shares and his shares will be distribute among the users who stay longest.
This will make it hop proof and people will stay or go for good.

I was in P2pool for 6 months and it was the pool that pay the most, but since the bitcoin drop to 200 dollars it just died. If you look at the history 3 block per day and some days up to 5 blocks. I guest those days a long gone.

Thanks.
It's PPLNS - learn about how PPLNS works - rather than making guesses based on small random samples that are not representative of the population and then coming up with some ludicrous idea about how to screw up a PPLNS pool.

But I guess, more importantly, learn a little about p2pool.
No node except your own node knows anything about your mining except when you find a share-chain share.
So your idea means that any p2pool node with less than something like 20THs will never get paid ... yay good idea there Tongue

I was going to take my time to answer you back, nut honestly I cant waist my time.  You are just dumb to what is going on. The best of luck for you guys.

Yeah, everyone else is dumb. It's surely not you who is dumb.  Roll Eyes You make absolutely no sense.

Get the fuck out and stop wasting "your" time.  Roll Eyes

I did get the fuck out and took my 1 Phs out of the pool. that why you at 1.8 or 2 the most. Good luck!!!

Now one positive thing about the pool; is that when you need help, you get it. That i can not take away from this team.

My quote is just a suggestion to keep miners in one place, work together and get paid well.

If you've been around here for 6 months as you state, you'll know that the dev does not interact with the community at all, so you're wasting your time asking for changes.

There is no such thing as hop-proof.  Nothing you do can prevent somebody from moving off of this pool and onto another.  This pool is definitely not hopper friendly, though.  It takes a long time to ramp up your shares on the chain.  Because it takes so long for you to ramp up, it deters you from moving from pool to pool because you're not getting the full potential of your hashing power.  It's the same with any PPLNS pool.

Let's take an example.  For our example, we have a miner who expects to find 1 share per day and the pool expects to find 1 block per day.  If that miner only stays for 1 day, he'll only get 1 share on the chain.  If he stayed for a week, he'd have 3 shares on the chain:

Day 1 - 1 share
Day 2 - 2 shares
Day 3 - 3 shares
Day 4 - 3 shares
Day 5 - 3 shares
...

Your suggestion doesn't work.  For example, let's say that I'm a die-hard p2pool miner, but I don't own my own gear, I rent it.  Let's say that I forgot to send coins to the rental site and my rental ends.  I don't get it back up within the 30 minutes.  According to your plan, I lose everything.  What if that is 200TH/s worth of shares?  Well, right now, that would get you about 2.5BTC if a block were found.  You're saying that this person should forfeit that 2.5BTC.  Yeah, good luck getting support for that.

As for history, please do look at the historical block finds.  Sure, p2pool has had some exceptionally lucky streaks.  It's also had some pretty exceptionally bad luck streaks, too.  You'll see that it's not all roses and 3 and 5 block days when the price of BTC was over $200.  Take a look back through this thread and you'll see plenty of times people making posts about, "can we get a block please?" - even well before BTC dropped to its current price point.

The guilty ones are the first one to come out....
