Took an early ML on Hawthorn Hawks (aussie rules) and covered the losses from the big Seattle Mariners fuck up, NBA and Spain matches last night. In a slightly better mood now.

Ready for a profitable evening. BRING IT ON.

I have the over 186.5 bet on Heat / Spurs. Was quite optimistic about it earlier on, but looking at the game now, I think it's going to be close Undecided

Sorry about Mjallby and Tahiti fellas Undecided

I'm so far 2 - 2- 2 this evening. Without those two I'd be on two wins and two push.

69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting Picks (NEW PROFIT SHARING PICKS) on: June 20, 2013, 01:01:16 PM
Spain will field a mostly reserve team and I can't see them having the motivation to continue knocking in the goals after 5 or 6. Worth 0.01btc IMHO.

Edit: Also noticed Malmo looking fairly good value on a -1 at 2.10/+110

If anyone fancies a quick bet, try a parlay with Malmo at -1 and Mjallby ML  (2.22 / +122)

Seems to me that the 0.05 minimum has slowed up the game somewhat.....

oney to strangers promising fantastic investment returns simply because they could spin a fantastic narrative.

It was obviously a gamble in more than one way. I sent money to xbox fully aware of the likelihood of not seeing any return. Like I said above, the first rule of gambling is that you never invest more than you are willing to lose.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Journey from .15 btc to a motorcycle (32 btc) via sports betting OVER 1 BTC NOW! on: June 19, 2013, 12:32:20 PM
You seem way too trusting, you need to bitcoin moar before making recommendations.

Lol, I've been registered here a full 16 months longer than you have and you're telling me to bitcoin moar?

Jog on, newbie! Where were you when we were buying btc for under $1?
76  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: xboxgames SCAMMED ME FOR 5BTC! on: June 18, 2013, 11:00:49 PM

I'm not embrassed. It was stupid yeah, but I'm not embrassed at all. If I was then why would I be posting about this? What's the deal with you and xboxgames anyway?

I have no clue. You seem to have insight into everyone and everything's true motives at the moment, so why don't you humour me and let me know?

All I'm suggesting is that we give someone enough breathing space to get their shit together and adequately represent themselves when they feel ready. They sure as hell won't do that if they feel that they have to wade through a wall of hostility and personal attacks the moment they jump back on.

Is xboxgames a scammer? Yes? No? Maybe? I have no idea. But what I do know is that offering someone the benefit of the doubt is entirely my call, and I'd rather have a bad decision on my conscience than a decision that lead me to falsely accuse someone at a low point in their life.

There's nothing at all to gain by rushing into a witchunt. If it is indeed your worst case scenario and you have been scammed, then you'll still be scammed in 48 hours time. Consider that Smiley
77  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: xboxgames SCAMMED ME FOR 5BTC! on: June 18, 2013, 10:51:51 PM

How long has ostr1234 been waiting? So what you are saying is nobody should have said anything and let him do business as usually? Come on.

Maybe you missed something? If he was having problems, why was he accepting bitcoins and moneypaks?

Anyway. Since you guys are putting a lot of trust in xboxgames, I'll make you a nice deal. I gave him a $300 moneypak and should have received a little under 3 BTC. If anyone is willing to send me 2 BTC then I will tell xboxgames to send the coins owed to me to you. Most of you gamble right?  Cheesy

A longer than expected wait is not absolute proof of xboxgames being complicit in any scam. For all we know, he could have had issues for a few days now that have recently spiralled out of control. He could have even been on here trying to escape other things and attempting to cling onto some semblance of normality whilst things got progressively worse for him irl.

Nobody really knows bar xboxgames and the truth will out eventually one way or another. Until then why not try and refrain from the hostility? I know you're probably embarrassed about your bizarre decision to send a moneypak to a complete stranger, but please try and show a little compassion - he's a fellow human being for fucks' sake.
78  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Journey from .15 btc to a motorcycle (32 btc) via sports betting OVER 1 BTC NOW! on: June 18, 2013, 10:47:23 PM
So apparently, the way I see it, is that someone has some urgent and unforeseen personal circumstances, that by all accounts appear to be pretty damn serious, and people are lining up to make baseless accusations and generally shit all over him. What a fantastic community we're building here.

xboxgames: If you're reading this and need any help, drop me a PM. The btc is immaterial at the moment. I won't judge and I'm here if you need me.
79  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: xboxgames SCAMMED ME FOR 5BTC! on: June 18, 2013, 10:32:26 PM
Yes I have heard from him. Life problems apparently, he was super nice about it and said not to worry

Which is exactly why I suggested everyone should wait 48 hours to cool off and see what happens.

Ultimately, if he's going through something pretty major, logging onto here and seeing a shitstorm of abuse could be enough to push someone over the edge.

Give him the benefit of the doubt until you have irrefutable proof to suggest otherwise. If the dude is going through a heap of bad stuff, he's not exactly going to be thinking straight, and coming on to a forum to make good with a bunch of people over some space dollars is not going to be high on his list of priorities.
80  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshi Buckets - UP AND RUNNING! 1 BTC GIVEAWAY, 0.7 BTC LEFT. on: June 18, 2013, 04:05:28 PM
Thanks for the clarification, bitshy!

There are three reasons why you might still want to play in red in this situation:

- You might expect green or blue to get higher by the time red meets the threshold.
- You might be feeling lucky.
- There is a massive giveaway going on that means that playing in red is still a net positive even if it is originally a net negative. (Hey! That sounds familiar!)50%

If we discount 3 as it's only a temporary thing, I'm not sure that someone trying to develop a strategy would rely on luck, which means we can rule out 2. Therefore, we're left with 1: "You might expect green or blue to get higher...." and I honestly don't think that's enough of an incentive to drop into red. Perhaps consider throwing a lifeline into play? Something like if you go in on red and the total of the red bucket is 33% or greater of the three buckets, then you have a 1 in 10 chance to get thrown a lifeline - ie your money stays in red bucket (minus your 1% bitshy rake of course). This gives the player an incentive to back the red bucket AND lures players away from green and blue because there's a 1 in 5 chance they won't get the winnings from red falling. I dunno. Maybe that's overcomplicating it and stupid.

5% Trans Fee (Est.)

Right now the estimated transaction fee is actually 0.4%, often less.

Yup - I was just throwing a number out there for the sake of illustration - didn't have the inclination to figure out the exact %! Smiley

Sorry, this is an error with my description of the game! The reward is proportional to the amount of money you put in! Otherwise there really would be no incentive to bet more than 0.005.

I updated the description on the site.

Good stuff! Smiley
