We have been working hard and there are several updates to the Geocashing app wallet.geocoin.cash! Thanks to all beta testers for their dedication to this project. Some of the more notable updates include:

Beta has been updated to the new GUI (some of those clusters are getting big )




Bulk drop by rectangle!





QR code generator is working with alpha tests. "Geo-QR" codes are under development. More news about this to come.

Our desktop wallet is open source and can be found on our github. This source is full POW code with the Qubit mining algorithm but contains no geo-functions.

The HTML5 Geocashing wallet is not open source. One would have to build it themselves.

Thanks for adding a GeoCoin multipool. I put it on the OP.

Hi thanks for testing it out. You can use the same html5 wallet that you used to drop the coins to collect the coins. Near the bottom of the map you should see a button "geocollect" that you can press. It will then ask you to allow location tracking and you have to click yes. If it is working on your device, it will show your location as a small red circle and track you as you move. The interface is undergoing significant changes and there may be some bugs to work out. Have fun!

Hi everyone,

The GeoCashing beta phase has been going very well! We've had over 2000 users register for beta testing so lots has been going on. Thanks to everyone for all the support. I've done a lot of work with the code and am starting to roll out new features for the slack group to test which will be pushed to the beta site soon.

Here's a screenshot of the latest features we're working on. Some of us are testing in the slack group already.



New features include:

-GEO Map Clustering: shows the total number of geo locations in an area. This allows quick load time on all devices and hotspots are easily identifiable (big red clusters). Click on a cluster to zoom into that area.
-Responsive interface
-Ability to geodrop any amount of GEO > 0.01
-New Geocashing Menu with all your geocashing features
-Ability to drop coins on the map with any device
-Several more features coming with the next GUI update

GeoCoin.cash beta release has been a big success. We are continuing to get tons of signups every day! Our user base is growing quickly and the marketing hasn't even started yet. We are forming a really great active community. People are dropping and collecting coins. We have indicated several improvements to the user interface and will be releasing the following features on the next GUI update:

-Share your geodropped coins through social media and reward users for doing so, creating a chain reaction flow
-Zoom to location
-Bulk geodrop
-Drop any fraction of GEO
-Mobile friendly geodropping
-Password protected coins
-More things we find through beta testing

Hi, we are several people. I am not the only developer on this project but the lead. I collaborated with fartbags from HEMP who built the HTML5 wallet. He's developed lots of great tech like a quick QR code generator containing some coins you can give away or maybe hide for others to find. We'll be rolling out some of this stuff in the future for GeoCoin. I developed all the digital geocashing functionality with another GIS developer. We have a web designer working on an improved GUI as well as a marketing director to push this out to the masses when the time is right. And of course since beta release we have a ton of beta testers.

I like this idea There will be lots of cool & fun functionality coming with the next UI release.

The geocashing GUI is undergoing some improvements as we work through beta and the geocollecting toggle is on the list. I just checked the wallet and there are tons of beta testers with GEO dropped all over the world

Hi everyone and thanks for all the great beta testing! 

There were 2 images with missing links (the ones showing where everyone else dropped their coins). Us alpha testers had the image saved in our caches so we didn't notice the missing images. The coin icons have been updated. Anyone who was having troubles seeing all the coins should be able to see them now. Happy geocashing!

Update

We're happy to announce public beta registration is open for Geocashing at: http://wallet.geocoin.cash/

Simple instructions:

1. Sign up and send GEO to your HTML5 GeoCashing Wallet.
2. From a desktop computer, drag and drop your coins on the GeoCashing map. Once dropped, you can drag them around for precise locations. Click Save when ready.
3. From a mobile device, click the "Geocollect" button. You will be asked to allow location tracking, click yes. As you move you will see your location on the map. When you get close to a GeoCoin, it will be awarded to your account.

Please remember you are signing up for beta testing. There are some known bugs we are working on. Users that attempt to fake their location will be banned.
