I found out BITS a year ago. I was intrigued because it's one of supernet's core coins and acquired around 0.5BTC as I expected things to happen. Unfortunately I have not seen any progress during that year. Other supernet coins showed a lot of progress during that year, attracted buyers, have new features etc, That's wrong: opal is dead for many months now, many pp sold everything, and dev seem to have died too ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif) and what I am still having here is a wallet which malfunctions and takes ages to sync like last year. That's true ;-)

Hi
Can someone provide a faststartpack up to date, please? I downloaded the one from "altblockchains" but sling seems to find a problem on block "751" so it's stuck 2 weeks ago. I have connexions, but syncing doesn't work.
Hope this helps. https://mega.nz/#F!XIlx1D4a!YmUGmgd5ii3mFg61dyABKwContains xleveldb folder and blk0001.dat from a fully synced sling wallet (mine). Thanks a lot! It helped ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

I have 4 or 5 active connections, but my QT wallet doesn't sync anymore, since block 1542223 (3213 blocks remaining now). I've deleted peers.dat, run "bitstard repairwallet", tried "bitstar-qt -rescan", but nothing happens. Is there a problem on the network? (other wallets sync fine)

OS already has a lot of the libraries required to compile most of cryptocurrencies, you can try compiling your altcoin daemon like this:
- git clone http://[githubofaltcoin]
- cd altcoin
- cd src
- make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-
that should compile the daemon for that altcoin, feel free to share feedback or ask any question in the official thread so it can remain for future users with same doubts, we will share more friendly manuals later on.
P.S: you should remember to open the ports of that altcoin in the firewall, you can do it with
- sudo ufw allow PORT/TCP
Cheers.
Hello! I am trying to install an altcoin wallet following your little guide here. but I get a error message when I am typing "make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-" this is how I did it: git clone https://github.com/hirosakaim/JIFFYCOIN.gitcd JIFFYCOIN cd src make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=- and I get the following error message: /bin/sh ../share/genbuild.sh obj/build.h g++ -c -02 -pthread -Wall -Wextra -Wformat -Wformat-security -Wno-unused-parameter -g -DBOOST_SPIRIT_THREADSAFE -D_FILE_OFFSET_BITS=64 -I/home/pi/JIFFYCOIN/src/leveldb/include -I/home/pi/JIFFYCOIN/src/leveldb/helpers -DHAVE_BUILD_INFO -fno-stack-protector -fstack-protector-all -Wstack-protector -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -MMD -MF obj/db.d -o obj/db.o db.cpp In file included from db.cpp:7:0: db.h:16:20: fatal error: db_cxx.h: No such file or directory #include <db_cxx.h> ^ compilation terminated. makefile.unix:175: recipe for target 'obj/db.o' failed make: *** [obj/db.o] Error 1
Can someone please help me? Try installing libdb5.3++-dev (on ubuntu)

will that coin be POW for some time?
No it will be pure Proof-of-Stake and there are good reasons for it to be distributed this burn/buy way. If the new coin were to be Proof-of-Work there would be both an expectation of return on investment from the miners and they, along with anybody they were selling to from outside of this informed community, would not take kindly to potential short-notice code-changes, forks and possible roll-backs. As I said, this new coin is an experiment in public/private commercial collaboration, while it is being launched by its own dev team the fact is that my company will be engaging in this arrangement with the understanding that as the app we are developing is progressing, we may state that there is a need for the coin network to be modified in some way to allow for a better fit. It will be up to the dev team to decide whether they wish to respond to commercial requirements in order to cooperate in the hope of a viable long-term use-case being established for their coin. We will continue to remind people that there are no guarantees or promises being made in regards to this side-project, so their decision to participate in the coin distribution must be taken in the knowledge that there may or may not be a viable product using this new coin at the end of this experiment. If I participate to the staking process, I need the sources to compile the binary for my linux OS (either Ubuntu/Intel or Debian/arm). Will the new piece of software be open source?

My vpncoin-qt is stick at a block generated 86 days ago and don't want to sync anymore. I added the lines I've found on the 1rst page of this thread to ~/.vpncoin/Vpncoin.conf, but even with 6 connections, nothing updates. An idea? Is there a recent fast pack?
Please delete old blockchain files, and upgrade to version 1132. Don't forget to back up wallet.dat file. OK, thanks! I built vpncoind on my raspberry pi 2 and started it, and it downloads fine the blockchain ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Will try that for the moment!

Another news article related to NXT on NxterMagazine. [AE blog] NEXTBOND: High interests Bitcoin assetToday, NEXTBOND started trading exclusively on the Nxt Asset Exchange. NEXTBOND (asset ID 7105354913147670050) is 1:1 with superBTC and can always be exchanged to Bitcoins without any price slippage issues. It is similar to keeping your funds in a high interest account. http://nxter.org/ae-blog-nextbond-high-interests-bitcoin-asset/I followed the instructions and sent some satoshis to NXT-ESXQ-5QFC-ARPP-HG2C7. They say I'll have some NextBonds in return within 24 hours, but it was 48 hours from now and I still have nothing back. Moreover, there's no site nor dedicated support forum thread to help me :-( Anybody knows who to join?

Happy new year!
I compiled fibred from source and when I run it, it shows these 2 lines: `Jan 02 11:24:38.614 [err] tor_assertion_failed_(): Bug: tor/memarea.c:127: alloc_chunk: Assertion realign_pointer(res->next_mem) == res->next_mem failed; aborting. Jan 02 11:24:38.614 [err] Bug: Assertion realign_pointer(res->next_mem) == res->next_mem failed in alloc_chunk at tor/memarea.c:127. Stack trace:`
And nothing else.
Any idea?

Hi Thanks for this new version with which I'm gonna play a bit :-) Before that, I have to fix an issue with the keyboard layout: I can't change it (clicking on the button in the appropriate setting doesn't show any dialog box related to this setting). What's the name of the binary used to change the keyboard layout?
