limited edition nitro is expensive as fok tho Oh so these great performances come from the fact that this is a limited edition... Sadly, since I prefer picking many cheap cards, I think I will not opt for this one...

I bought some LTC during the last drop... Hope it'll go up again shortly... It will. What I recommend you from my trader experience is to set the sell order at the price you want now (please make it to something real, not 0,05 BTC) so that you will not be tempted to sell because it drops or because the rise takes too much time to come so that you lose patience and sell.

Definitely Dopecoin. Still very-very cheap with low volume and market cap, not added to most of the exchanges and devs making good deals and have future plans.
Bad arguments. After all I do not know what is the definition of a legitimate coin for OP, but for me a legitimate coin is a coin that either have a great added value over the othe cyrpto-currencies or a crypto-currency already recognised by many people as legitimate. And toward OP, a true legitimate coin at this price does not exist according to me.

You know, even if Litecoin or any crypto-currency was praised by the International Monetary Fund to be international currency, there would not be any sharp rise. In any rise, there will be some drops, because most of the volume on Poloniex is made by bots, and bots buy at some point and sell at another one, so at some moment this is sure that it drops, but if the uptrend is real, of course it will start rise again at some moment or another.

So I have been quite long in the mining game, and for me, hands down the best GPU is the RX 470. When I will go back to mining soon, by taking wking up my mine and expending it, I will go exclusively with RX 470. Or with RX 570, depending which one is cheaper. And as you may not think, i seems that RX 570 is cheaper, so I will maybe go with this one. But anyway, take one of those ones, which the least memory. A stock RX 470 with 4Gb of RAM is your best horse in the race. The RX 480 is too expensive to be a good plan. Even if it is more powerful, it is not enough to justify a that high price tag.
Interesting points. At first glance the only "pro" to go for the 480 over the 470 might be the slightly more power and the higher resale value. I wonder how the hashrates of the 570's / 580 's might work out! Well, since I have posted my post, I did research on the RX 570 and RX 580, and while they do not offer a that great boost in Ethereum solo mining, they offer a considerable increase in term of dual mining. So finally if the price tag is not very different between those, I suggest you to buy the new ones. And this is what I will do in two weeks I think.

Over here there's very limited stock of 470/480/570/580.
I usually like to buy cards with dual bios so I can flash them with a base bios and then adjust them with Watttool depending on the coin I mine (like my XMR bios doesn't work with it's heavy undervolt under ETH). And if I F it up, it's easy to revert to the stock bios by just flipping a switch.
Now I feel like a cow watching the train pass and I think the time to buy cards and mine is now, whatever the best deal/brand is. But I have little experience with other brands.
I currently only own Sapphire cards (Nitro+ 8Gb and 4Gb). Do you guys know what other brand does dual bios? I know XFX do...
Currently the cheapest cards I find and that are available are:
MSI RX 570 ARMOR 4G OC (~200$, MSI's 580 is 30$ more)
Or: SAPPHIRE Radeon RX 470 Nitro OC at 195$, but it's no Nitro and for 5$ more and can get a 570
And that's it. You can find other cards, but with the limited stock they go for 260->300$ and that's just not a smart buy.
So any thoughts on that MSI 570 ARMOR 4G?
The RX 570 seems from what I saw today to be a very good and promising card. If you choose to go with this card, MSI is by far the best brand, with the best cooling system, so if hopefully for you it is not that expensive when compared to the other brands, go with this one.

decred changed mining algo, so Claymore was not working...check out Claymore's thread (new version upcoming).
Really ?! It changed to which one ? A new algorithm or an already existing one ?

I am curious as to what made you say that he is a laughable individual. What are the certain words he uttered to be considered as a person who claims to be that he is a CEO of bitcoin. And what did he do that you called him an asshole? Though his face is funny and weird but I dont see something wrong about him but if you can share to us what his exact words are then probably we will be conviced. The Linkedin page explains it all. He styles himself as Bitcoin CEO. You should not interpret it as that another CEO from the Bitcoin world is an asshole, but that there is another asshole calling himself "Bitcoin CEO".

So I looked a bit everywhere to find dual mining performances of the RX 470 with Decred, but I found only outdated values, which probably, this is even sure, evolved at the rise. I would be very recognising to you if you could provide me those informations !

Hello miners, I'm fairly new to the altcoin mining world and I've stumbled across this forums as a major reference everytime I look for information. My question is very simple, I have gaming computer that's not used anymore and I would like to start mining with it, it has a GTX 1060 6GB gpu in it What coin/algo mining works best with it ? what are some of your hashrate using the same card for compare?
i suggest to mine lbry or zcash, they are the best one for nvidia for now, but one single 1060 can't do much, on lbry only 180MH and on zcash only 280 sol, whattomine say that you might earn $2 a day, but you need to factor in the electricity which you didn't tell Actually $2 a day seems profitable to me because electricity isn't as expensive where i live, still it sucks as a ROI if i wanna let say buy a couple more GPUs. Thank you for the advice Well, it is not 2$ a day. Count more on 1,5$/day, for now. What I recommend you to mine with this card is Lbry and ZCash, classic and normal. Ethereum is also interesting but gives lesser profits.

Could you please detail a bit more ? I went on its Linkedin profile and I saw absolutely nothing that would him an "asshole". No stupid declaration such as Roger Ver, no disruptive actions such as Jihan Wu...
If you put for your title: 'Bitcoin CEO' - you are probably an asshole. He thinks because he looks like Greg Maxwell's little brother, that he is the boss of Bitcoin. Yes, this is something I noticed, just told me he is a bit stupid. I red a bit more of what he was saying, and he looked to me as someone very ambitious, which is a great quality for a company leader. However, yes, what you are pointing is a bit too much, and need to be found under the line. I probable went too fast on reading the page.

You seems to have a low budget considering the graphic cards you are proposing. But if you can afford one, I really recommend you to buy the new RX 570, it costs only 169$ and really is a killer.
For low power graphic cards, sadly I can not help you, as this is not an area where I am good it.

i think waves still have opportunity to go up although we can see that waves is too often for up and down but there are still good sign to buy this coins if the coins reach bottom price. i think there were any dump and pump in next weeks but i am not sure about this, so i think i will to watching the coins first and if there is any chances for me to enter the market, then i will buy some amount.
I really doubt that this price rise will last long, or I would not have sold the bag I earned during the ICO. It reminds me a bit when it went to 50k satoshis, that everyone was praising for it to become world currency, it dropped, and then everyone forgot about it.

Wow ! This is a power beast ! Really makes me want to buy some to play with. Any idea about the other dual mining options ? I would be particularly interested in SIA and LBRY.

Please for the health of this poor little laptop you are planning to mine with, do not do it. Moreover a GTX 1050 will not make you much money, and you will kill your laptop.
But for regular miners, with mining rigs, yes, mining is always profitable. It just depends of your electrical costs.
|
|
|
Personally I will switch to Ethereum Classic, a crypto-currency I like a lot. However, most people will probable stop mining as there will not be a crypto-currency that propose as much security, safeness and peace of mind than Ethereum.

Anyone to help me decide between the different 570 models? MSI Gaming x ($189) vs XFX XXX RS ($189) vs Gigabyte gaming ($169) vs Gigabyte AORUS (179)?
Why pick the more expensive cards before the gigabyte gaming?
Thanks!
I will probably buy some RX 570 in the coming weeks, and the ones I will take will be the Gigabyte ones. MSI is great, but I see no reason to pay 20$ more. MSI is well-known to inflate its cards price, so this do not mean they are from an higher quality, at least interesting for us miners.

I will never understand this Barcelona team. How could have they been playing so poorly until now in Champions League, and now are giving all they have for a poor useless Liga match. Maybe this is a desperate power, and they were told that this is the only thing left for them, so better do it well, but they should have made it all the way since the beggining of the season...

Already a fourth thread ? Ah, I learnt so many thing following your threads that it is a pleasure for me to take a look at this new one that will go with my mining life for some time.
Anyway, I would like to gather your opinions on the RX 570. Is it really a game changer ? Surprisingly it is cheaper than RX 470, maybe because it offer less performances ?
