That would be really useful, but also really complex.
Please post about any progress you make.

I think this is something that should be addressed via some sort of data compression technology.
It could also be addressed by eliminating some stuff that is stored on the block chain; maybe delete the ip address a transaction was sent from 100000 blocks after the transaction occurred?

If BTC took over, budgets would be balanced by default.
Because they wouldn't be able to get a loan on bitcoin talk's newbie forum, either! Well, even if they were able to get a loan, they couldn't just print more money to pay off that loan. Obviously they could mine, but that is different.

Basically my question is is there some sort of method to get an approximate number of hashes from the number of flops?

Perhaps he wanted the radiation to turn the gold into lead? I'm going to go strip some lead just in case.
Doesn't irradiated gold turn into bitcoin

|
|
Is there any way to convert flops to hashes or is there no relation between the two?

What you need is a bank that is willing to take bitcoin for mortgage payments...they could put in minimal effort and just bitpay, but some one needs to bring the idea to a bank.
http://www.burnleysavingsandloans.co.uk/This one would be the easiest to accept bitcoins as payment. I suggest somebody from The Bitcoin Foundation give this guy a call and sent up a meeting. I'm sure that at the end of meeting, he'll be accepting bitcoins as payment. David Fishwick http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burnley_Savings_and_LoansI think that someone should talk to them

You cant buy anything with BTC, it's only valuable because people can cash it out to fiat once the transaction is done with and can pay their rent/buy food, etc
http://pizzaforcoins.comCool I always wanted to pay a large fee so someone else could order from dominos with their credit card instead of just using my credit card because ? Keeping cash reserves in a currency losing value to buy that pizza just cost you double the cost of the pizza. You dont have a cash reserve when you use a credit, I'm buying that Pizza with debt which I will pay for with money that I made at my job. Left over savings are invested wisely to counteract the effects of inflation. P.S. USD inflation is incredibly low and I dont have to worry about prices going from $30 to $5 overnight. If you don't like btc, why are you here?

You can mine with it, but your best bet might be to sell it and buy a 5830.

Can you provide your credentials that prove that you won't steal our money.
Also, please explain the part about determining credit worthiness.

My tip is to meet at some sort of table and set up a camera to monitor the transaction.
For extra security, have the camera recording to some sort of remote server.
