61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Pump and Dump groups that are Good? Cryptopia on: January 19, 2018, 12:46:22 PM
A word of caution to all the noobies who think you can get rich by Pump and dump groups, Please don't part and just observe.

Look at the price of the coin when you’re notified of the coin they’re choosing. If you find that you’re notified after it already surged and you find that a small part of the group is buying it up before hand and leading others to hold bag,  then your are one of the people in the lower category of the PnD group. People will use you to rise the pumping price and trap you while the top memebrrs of the group dumps their coins keeping you stranded at an ATH price. By then the damage is already done.

Just go through this

https://bitfalls.com/2018/01/12/anatomy-pump-dump-group/

It will give you an insight on how these scams work.

I have done my part and its upto you to decide.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: You Hodling strategy on: January 19, 2018, 12:30:54 PM
There is no such masterplan. It all depends on if you are investing you can afford to loose, Controlling your FUD during a massive correction and doing your own research about the coins to invest.

You need to combine all your points for a good investment. If you have enough funds, diversely your portfolio by selecting a 2-3 coins from the top ten by CMC. Then go for coins with a great tech, roadmap. There some coins shilled here and there which sometimes actually moon. I usually go for coins below <$1 value. Also reserve a few for day trading do if you are good at it then you can earn more. Have patience instead of gambling like noobies while trading.

I currently hold BTC, NEO, IOTA, REQ, XRB, PRL, BNTY, DBC and ARK in my portfolio. I believe these coins have great future ahead and will surely be worth the investment. But everyone has their own view about different coins though.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what happened to BitConnect?!!! on: January 19, 2018, 12:17:10 PM
Bitconnect turned into BitconnectX! As obvious, it turned into a Ponzi scam taking all its investores down the drain!

Many youtubers played on the lack of knowledge of people that either were new to the space or were lazy not to research it. Basically they said that they have a bot that the more money you give it to trade it the more money it makes, your money is locked by them and you receive a daily pay. They also advertised that there was no or very little risk. If it sounds too good to be true, and it's success depends on you signing new people to the group and it quacks like a duck, most likely it's a ponzi scheme. Its really sad to see many people maxing out their credit cards, Students putting in loan and getting lured into the trap.

Now all that remains are the left over Bitconnect coins without any platform. Ready to be slaughtered!

64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital currency plunge may be healthy for cryptocurrency market ? on: January 19, 2018, 05:47:55 AM
the reason behind the plunge may be the markets over the last year have certainly appreciated more quickly than the fundamentals , it is the big revision & may be the financial year closer may be also the reason.

What is your opinion on this ...

No one really knows if its a correction or bubble burst or South Korea or CME. Everyone has their own take over the recent plunge. Crypto in all has been highly volatile over the months and major correction was needed for the market to get more stable and stronger. The fundamentally strong coins will surely win down the lane. If not today, at least in a long term.

The obsession over market movement will always be disconcerting for crypto, new hands are looking at it as a commodity rather than understanding the real world use case, these price movements do nothing more than worsen the pandemonium of describing crypto as an unregulated market manipulated by rent-seeking elites.

66  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-1-17]Cboe's First Bitcoin Futures Contract Expired Today on: January 18, 2018, 07:38:36 AM
I have already seen people speculate about the price going down due to the expiry of the first contract, but that's pretty much impossible considering how low the actual interest has been in these futures.

It just doesn't justify the resources of whatever entity needed to get the market to plummet this hard. It may eventually be an option later in the future, but for that to happen there needs to be far more capital involved.

And I too believe that Bitcoin isn't the only coin for ever with these futures tied to it. This market is growing so large, that even certain top altcoins can turn out to be money making machines for these platforms.

Indeed. In theory futures could manipulate the market. But its not the case here. The futures trades might deal in a few thousands of BTC's but I don't see it plummeting the entire markets when you compare to the huge exchanges. Market manipulation, Pumping dumping, Scam Offerings are all part of the unregulated markets. People just want to blame it on something or someone to console themselves from the regret of buying at All time high.
67  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin used for its actual purpose on: January 18, 2018, 06:05:55 AM
I live in one small Indian city.  My experience here is that people are using bitcoin just for investment purposes with the single motive of earning higher returns on price hikes.  Most of the shopkeepers here will not accept payment if offered in bitcoin.  May be in big cities like New Delhi; Mumbai; Chennai etc people may be using bitcoin as payment because there people are economically; educationally; very much forward so they must be using it as mode of payment in addition to investment purposes.

But now more and more people are getting connected to bitcoin so in very near future I expect that most of the Indians will be using bitcoin as payment mode in addition to investment purpose.

You are right and wrong. Indian people just think about investment and getting rick quicker. Hardly anyone knows how Bitcoin works here or its real world case. I live in Bangalore and there is like one restaurant here that accepts Bitcoin now which I doubt if they are still doing it. But a lot of seminars and meetups are being held by Techies on Blockchain technology and how the same can be implemented for real world use cases which I feel is a right step taken. On the contrary Bitcoin was mainly created as a decentralized currency. But due to its scaling issues I don't think anyone would use it that way though. Also the fee in Dollar is like $10 which translates to almost rs 600 which is the daily wage of a Indian common man:(
68  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [H] BTC [W] ~$3000 on: January 17, 2018, 04:41:23 PM
Since you have mentioned multiple trades , are you willing to trade small amounts? If yes I have got $200 Paypal right now and can exchange it if you would like to along with the fee for the transaction. Let me know if you are interested. Thanks!
69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [2018-1-17] Bitconnect Closes Virtually Its Entire Operation on: January 17, 2018, 12:43:09 PM
Good riddance! Am I the only one who's not even remotely sympathetic? I mean just a little research would have shown a reasonable person that it was shady. It was greed to the largest degree and nothing was going to stop these people from going deep. The wrath will continue until all the BCC is drained and it goes to zero since its worth nothing without the platform. Call me sadist but its fun to watch BCC going from $350 to $15.

Many Youtubers are deleting their Bitconnect videos. They should be jailed for scamming their users and getting noobies into the ponzi scam. My sympathies to the poeple who lost money. Hope it's a lesson learnt to do your own investment research instead of following retards.
70  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Very FRUSTRATED today with KUCOIN Exchange on: January 17, 2018, 11:38:26 AM
Though I never encountered such a problem I can personally say that Kucoin is losing its trust among users. I have been using Kucoin from the past month. Initially it was gonig all good but now all these complaints are really turning this exchange into a shady one. Today I tried to withdraw BNTY and to my surprise its was showing 50 BNTY ($20) as fee. WTH!

I feel there is a lot of internal price manipulation on here also. Though I cannot prove it, I have read a lot regarding this. Many coins with great tech like BNTY, PRL, DBC are getting slaughtered since most have their volumes in this exchange. And I am talking about this happening before the massive dip going on.  Its high time to move to better exchanges.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Does removal of BTC from trading pairs stop or decrease altcoins from crashing? on: January 17, 2018, 10:30:05 AM
We all know that whenever Bitcoin crashes it will also drag the alts in its bloodbath. So if BTC was removed from the Trading pairs how would it impact the price of the Alts? I know this is not going to happen, but what if? And what could it be paired with?

P.S: This is not an anti Bitcoin post. Many alts exist because of Bitcoin.
72  Economy / Speculation / Re: which coin to buy now at low price? on: January 17, 2018, 10:11:55 AM
Just wait. All of the coins will be cheaper. The bubble just popped, we've just entered in a long-term bear market.

Can you provide any solid proof to explain this? or are you just speculating or spreading false information.

To the OP, if you have missed any coins which you always wanted to get into then now is the right time to invest and get hold of those at a low price. The price might go further down or bounce back up we never know. Just follow your guts and invest what you can afford to loose so you won't regret it later. And avoid listening to shit posters on the forum.

If I had some spare cash I would go for NEO, IOTA, REQ apart from the top ones as I feel they are worth for the long term investment with real world usage. Also try for coins <$1 value, so if at all it shoots up you will have massive gains. Again choosing the right coins differs from person to person. Just go through the whitepaper of respective coins to learn its tech and decide yourself. Diversify your portfolio so if ones goes down for whatever reason there will be others as a backup.
73  Economy / Speculation / Re: Could the lunar new year be bringing btc down on: January 17, 2018, 09:39:10 AM
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.inverse.com/amp/article/40218-bitcoin-ethereum-ripple-others-crashing

Found this article it mentions regulation and the lunar new year for the crypto blood bath

The market is crashing because it was artificially and massively inflated by shit like TRON and Dentacoin pump and dumps and 24-hour 100% returns on everything else. No one wants to hear the truth that the market place was overpriced like hell. Though the fake news spreading creates a bit of panic selling I don't think this time it It has anything to do News and the Lunar New Year. But everyone wants something or someone to blame for their own poor decision-making skills, gullibility, and frailty when they sell at a loss. This creates a moronic continual downwards trend until the bulls can finally push the market the other way or back to more of a sideways move.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ignore the news on: January 17, 2018, 09:31:25 AM
News is sometimes not signaling the price of coin. That's not to say fake news is a lot. You should trust yourself and do not rely on the daily news of potential e-money.

News is required to keep yourself up to date with the current stats and primarily if you are into trading coins so you don't waste your money on some shitcoins. That being said avoid all the comments from shitposters, and imbecile kids spreading FUD around in or out of the forum without any concrete facts. Recent South Korea news created a lot of panic among people for no reason whatsoever.

All these dips and manipulations are a part of the Crypto world. Whales are going to buy all the btc we panic sell. Classic move.

77  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Bloodbath.. on: January 16, 2018, 04:48:19 AM
The crypto market are currently all in red. It seems that there is a bloodbath. How long do you think will it take and what do you think is the reason behind it? Is it just a massive price correction or is it the end for the crypto world? Just want to know your opinion about it.

This is not a bloodbath but yeah kind of annoying to wait in patience for things to come back up. Many whales are dumping their coins so people will follow them and they will buy for even lower amount. Everything was calm until the South Korean FUD started spreading around. It is best if you hold the coins and wait for everything to settle instead of panic selling and making the whales even richer. On the positive side NEO is gaining a lot of traction. And if you have some extra cash to spare then thing that coins are at a discounted price and go for the right now.
78  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to find good cryptos? on: January 15, 2018, 09:38:54 AM
I normally go to r/cryptocurrency. A lot of coins along with their purpose is discussed in a lot. So you can understand the coins fundamentals. Then I read the white paper and the roadmap is find their current standing. Also you can pick one of the most shilled coins.

Coins like REQ, IOTA have good goals and are with for long term investment.

If you are looking for good ICO's then you can find a bunch on this forum.
79  Economy / Services / Re: [Job] Paypal to Bitcoins Exchange on: January 15, 2018, 06:00:44 AM
Quote
Checked and cleared funds from trusted 3rd party payment processors/networks (Like Amazon associate, EBay partner network, clickbank) will be received to your Paypal account.

Whats the guarantee that the payment will be available from these? and what about the legitimacy? Since Paypal is involved everyone needs to know what they will be getting into. OP and his associate gets 180 days to chargeback and put a hole in your pocket as well as limit your Paypal. Over that I suppose the funds will be sent as good and payment, which will make it a click of a button to open a case.
80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Most safe and secure hot wallets? on: January 15, 2018, 05:51:46 AM
I feel Electrum can be considered as the safest and lightest Destop wallet. It gives full access to your keys and got some good features like replacing fee etc. Recently there was a bug and the devs were very quick to fix it. Great support! If you needed the most secure wallet, then nothing can beat a paper wallet or hardware wallet unless you are careless enough to loose the seed. As noted Jaxx is one of the most buggiest wallet I have used.
