61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v6.0 on: November 16, 2016, 04:42:41 AM
v6.0:

- improved speed by about 20-25% (depends on card model). About 180H/s on stock 390.
- "-i" parameter values are 0...4 now, default value is "-i 4".
- fixed issue with mixed cards.

Claymore,

Suggestion. Can you add a combined folder with ETH miner and Zcash miner and add a switch in the Remote manager? So we can switch from ETH to Z-cash miner and back and forth quickly.

Thank you so much for your amazing work.
If switch happens , I dont mind paying 2.5% for both ETH and Zcash mining. Great work

I'd like to second this request.

Why not go a little further Claymore? bundle both miners into same package, use API to check profitability hourly and switch algo to always mine the most profitable coin (between Ethash and Equihash), must like the Nicehash miner which makes sense but its crap under the hood. We would all spend a lot less time managing miners and switching pools, coins and algo's.........

Stock 295x2, -i 4, 1100/1500, 320 H/s
Stock Nitro 470 8G, -i 4, 1350/2100, 155 H/s

In the 295x2, your running 1100 clock, 1500 mem and how about power limit? I have same card and getting 290ish.

0%. Haven't touched power limit. I use TRIXX to overclock. This is on Win7 x64 Ultimate, Crimson 16.10.1 if that helps. Temps are 70C and 67C, ambient 26C.

Maybe your card is throttling? How's your temps?

Temps not an issue, with ETH I was at 71-72, with ZEC its much better at 59-63. throttle does not kick in till 74. Same win7x64 ultimate, same 16.10.1. Using the default AMD setting to OC. What CPU, RAM and MB are you using? I have rigs with low-end Celeron and others with better MB's and AMD 6300 CPU. Several flavors of each

This is my work PC, not a dedicated rig. Small form factor Dell Optiplex 7010 (Ivy Bridge Q77 chipset), i7-3770 @ 3.4GHz, 2 x 4GB RAM dual channel PC3-12800 (800MHz) Kingston. It had two empty PCI-E slots, so I decided to stick two risers and run two cards (470 and 295). I might replace the 470 with another 295 if I find one, or a Fury or Nano to maximize hash. Free electricity. I power the two cards using a Corsair RM1000x on the side. I tried using a 3 way PCI-E x1 splitter to run more cards, but the PC wouldn't recognize the cards. I'm also mining the CPU using Kost's nheqminer (AVX) with 6 threads (~20 Sol/s), leaving me 2 threads for work stuff. While mining the CPU the clock boosts to 3.7GHz.

Have you played around with intensity? Maybe -i 4 could be overwhelming your setup?

Looks like my mem clock was defaulted back to 1250, once I changed that to 1500 I am now getting 320'ish per card. Looks like that was the issue, sometimes when the drivers crash, it all get set back to factory settings. Amateur move on my part, but really appreciate the help. Thanks,

Glad to hear, happy to help. Yeah, Radeon Settings will reset to factory clocks upon a crash. Had that happen to me a couple time.

Not many around here with 295 cards. I plan to try various core/mem clocks as I feel this card should be capable of higher hashrates. Be good to exchange results if you too plan to tweak some more. Any experience with BIOS modding?

I have 12 of these cards, all in 6 desktops and love them since they are quiet and can exhaust them via top and rear of towers. Basically I built a rig that has 2 of these (4 GPU's) and you can plug in anywhere and run, office, home etc. If anyone else saw a real open air rig like others build, they would call cops thinking its a bomb or something. So I think there is merit building them in fully enclosed cases that can run as normal desktops.

I spent 1 btc on it today.

If you are a buy and hold guy.  This is a decent place to hold for the next 120"days.

I only did one coin of my coins.

I made 2.5 on the v3 contracts, but those has double the bonus. I just put down 1/2 my coins into the v5 since I don't expect to buy any HW anytime soon and will be selling off my GPU rigs in a couple months. Better then earning zero in my wallet.
67  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: November 14, 2016, 06:59:41 PM
So anyone buying these v5 contracts? 3.25% is low for the risk so I am undecided at this point, but maybe better then just sitting in my Trezor.....
68  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: November 14, 2016, 04:19:28 AM
anyone have exprience with  auto buy  for these  pac man contracts. how that go.  how does it even work.

The autobuy just reinvests the payout back into the PACMiC to increase your hashrate.  You won't actually be paying down the balance on the principal if you select this option.

Running some simulations, I am getting about 3.25% APR on these contracts.  Not very good at all.  That is by far the lowest they have every offered.

EDIT: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1zbKKyXtW0vcfGDufk_UIRg_gAi0JzjsFwvB7LGj8bOI/edit?usp=sharing

Isn't the V5 likewise the same conditions as the V4? I remember the V4 also being 0.45 sat/BTC/s ?
It has different hashrate per contract and the difficulty and mining outlook are different

Perhaps I might have understood the Pacmic's not entirely sure (I only did some late V3's and early V4's); as how I understood them, is that the rate is fixed (the sat/BTC/s); so, the factors determining the profits would be 1) the time between the blocks and 2) the amount of hashes of the contract. Am I correct on this one, or did I miss something?

All other contracts were 1TH per contract, this one is 6TH per contract. I did a v3 contract and was very happy with results. Stayed away from V4 and not on the fence about v5.

Claymore:

Mining with nicehas get rejected shares from time to time. Only viable solution is to restart often (every hour or so). Another thing according to nicehash the miner does not use "extranonce.subscribe" which hinders performance.

Thank you for such a great miner , keep the great work

Would be great to support extranonce.subscribe, provides a more stable connection and less stale when fast switching on the NH side.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v1.0 on: November 05, 2016, 05:38:01 AM
@Claymore:

ive got two problems:

1) reconnects @ nicehash when "method:reconnect" (or something similar) is issued, where other miners dont reconnect, is this due to the missing extranonce when switching job orders?

2) after DevFee mining ends all shares are getting rejected till a new job starts from nicehash

will edit screens here once it happens again

Yep, same issue here selling hash to Nicehash. Any plans to support extranonce or provide a work around for those wanting to sell hash? The Nicehash miner is crap and much rather use yours, with the Coin price fluctuations, its pretty nice to get paid mkt prices in BTC.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v1.0 on: November 04, 2016, 05:28:45 PM
Does this work on Nicehash? or only zec pools?

-zpool equihash.usa.nicehash.com:3357
-u btcaddress.worker
-zpsw z
-tt 75

not working with btc address, must be Z address
not true

put in a btcaddress.worker and it will throw an error

Yes, thats exactly what is happening. I used Genoil .6 fine with nice hash BTC address

So whats the config to use on nice hash?

I have 4 rigs running 2 X 295X2 (4 GPU total) and the triple instance crashed the whole box. Needed a hard boot.
> "-k zec zec zec" will use close to 6 GB of vram

Try "-k zec zec" for 295X2  Cool

Yep, tried that. Made swap min 20g and max 40g, ran with -k zec zec and getting

zconn not accepted : null 20

but hash per card is about 35-36 which with one instance was 29-30, but not accepted
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v7.3 (Windows/Linux) on: November 02, 2016, 10:16:29 PM
Hotmetal - what miner are you using and what settings? Thanks

Genoil and using -k zec zec zec
(that will use close to 6 GB of ram on your GPU)

thanks hotmetal.... my 6x480 just went overdrive!

that zec x 3 = 3 zec instances?

My rig:
Sapphire 480 8gb vram
celeron 1840 on H81 BTC Pro
8gb RAM, SSD 120GB

I assume the triple ZEC instance only runs on 470/480 cards? Defiantly helps those, but I have 4 rigs running 2 X 295X2 (4 GPU total) and the triple instance crashed the whole box. Needed a hard boot.

Hmm, so today is the real Columbus Day?

Nice! My 2nd block for the pool. To bad missed the bonus, physical S7 also and not rented hash. Let's go for a daily double. One time I found 2 blocks back to back 20 min apart with the same s7 miner on Kano. That's was about 6 months ago.
78  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [150TH] [PPLNS 0.5%] Jonny's Mining Emporium (bravo-mining.com) on: August 30, 2016, 05:23:26 PM
Ain't that the truth, Phil!  I burned way too much coin that last round.

Amen, 30 BTC went into the last round on rentals. How shitty do I feel about that! Just need 8 more blocks within next 200b shares to break even. Haha

So you got 6 x16-x1 risers? Have you tried x16-x16 riser if you got one? i got a gigabyte mb which recognized all 6 cards if two of them are installed directly to mb or using x16-x16 riser. A bug or feature, don't know.

Yep, using 6 x x16-x1 powered risers, the H81 BTC Pro MB only has on x16 on board and if i place a card directly in the slot then it covers one of the X1 slots. I don't have a x16 to x16 riser to test, but guess I'll order a couple to try. Just pissed, have 6 480's sitting around doing nothing and diff is shooting up daily!

That said, looked on Amazon for a x16 to x16 and they all have shit reviews, not a single one looks good, people saying it has shit contacts and a few fired the MB.

Any recommendations on a quality x16 to x16 riser?

Watch those 16x-16x. I just fried a vid card with one of those.  Luckily it was a cheapo I used just to setup Windows.  I suggest to do what I had to do with the Msi.  load one card at a time. Rebooting between each card.  Also what vid connection are you using   For mine I had to connect a special monitor plug to it. Lookup on Amazon. They are from compulab "display emulator". Get the hdmi version and connect monitor to the dvi connection of same card or the card that is in the 16x slot.  Those mobo will work with a 1x-16x in the 16x slot.

Thanks for all the feedback, the Gen 1 setting in Bios worked and I can get past post but with only 5 GPU's. After some testing, I think one of the 480's just does not like risers since it works fine in another PC on the X16 slot. Anyway, I installed Win10 and it sees the 5 cards, less the flaky one that does not like a riser. But now when I start claymore, the display driver crashes and thus crashes Claymore. Using AMD 16.7.2 driver and Claymore 6.2 BETA.

Anyone running the same versions of driver, claymore, BTC Pro MB and 480's?
