61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [AXIOM] AxiomMemHash and SHABAL-256 with Schnorr Signatures - POW / POS on: July 29, 2015, 12:40:01 PM
Just goes to prove how amazing the crypto community is, GPU technology is still basically the same as what existed in 2013. Sergio Learner stated it shouldn't be much of a speedup:

https://bitslog.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/memohash-v0-3.pdf

The creator of the GPU miner stated each nvidia 750ti gets the speed of 4 CPU cores. It's not a coin killer, but unexpected.

Perhaps we can ask Mr. Lerner for some advice on how to harden the algo more for a hard fork...  Wink

but now is also for nvidia miner?  Tongue
no more cpu only ?
 Huh

Publicly it's still a cpu only coin. Privately there are ~4 people with a gpu miner.

only 4? 4 people or 4 farm lol
seems legit  Grin

~4 people. The dev + 3 buyers.

Even if they have a gpu farm is it not still one person? Many GPUs, sure, maybe. It's still only ~4 people though.

We don't have a miner. Here is a truncated log of our conversation with the GPU dev from a few hours ago:

<Myagui> Hey there AxiomCrypto . Are you Axiom's dev ?
<AxiomCrypto> im one of them but not the lead on the algo
<Myagui> Hi there AxiomCrypto. Sorry, you can disregard my earlier ping, I think we've exchanged enough PMs / posts on the forums about the gpu miner.
<Myagui> (unless you have something new to discuss, in which case I'm all ears, though on and off as I've got some work to do)
<AxiomCrypto> that was a different individual
<AxiomCrypto> how much are you trying to raise? Perhaps we can start a fundraiser address and contribute some ourselves
<Myagui> AxiomCrypto : I have sold the miner to a couple of people already now, so any deal at this point would have to allow me to refund those guys - which makes things quite a bit more difficult Sad
<Myagui> (I've even closed further sales) ...
<Myagui> A quick number off the top of my head would be 5 BTC + some reasonable amount of Axiom, so that could refund the buyers , and get just the same returns out (the Axiom would be my only added profit) . Sorry , I know this got a lot more expensive than what I initially proposed on bitcointalk, but as soon as I started selling, I took on a responsibility to those that bought it.
<AxiomCrypto> its ok
<AxiomCrypto> hopefully someone will make another or leak it sometime ;[
<Myagui> All of my buyers got the source , so a leak is definitely possible  :/

We're going to be moving everything except downloads to Github instead of Bitbucket,

POW will soon end only 44k Axiom remains for miners. Can we talk  about 2nd high dpos phase and  Schnorr Sigs.

Thanks

You should re-read the op, look more carefully at the emission schedule...

Total will be close to 10m in 4 years,

1m mined / staked in this first month.

2.57M after 3 months heading into the 2nd high dpos phase

4.45M in 1.5 years

Then block reward drops off sharply.

We will have ongoing development and whitepaper explaining insecurities in BTC and our solutions.

Pow is ongoing Smiley

Please create a worker on one of the pools and allow us to see for ourselves?
And prove to what ? he can made a high speed worker with proxy+lots of cpu... Roll Eyes

We would like to see a worker with that hash before we take any time away from what we're currently working on.

Very Skeptical of this GPU miner, can we test it or perhaps see a worker name for it on the pool to verify?

I understand the skepticism, this is BitcoinTalk after all. I've been a trusted member of this community long enough that I would not want a reputation stain for the sake of a couple BTCs. That said, please go ahead and ping me on IRC and we can work out a reasonable proof system.

Please create a worker on one of the pools and allow us to see for ourselves?

Thanks,

Axiom Team

We would like to see a worker name on this for verification. It's possible to mine on a GPU but it is inefficient to our knowledge compared to CPU. It would also be simple to just place a multiplier in the code to make it appear as though it is performing to that extent when in reality it is not.

That aside, a gpu miner at this stage in distribution is not particularly worrying to us, and if it were we would simply make a modification to the algorithm to eliminate it.

Hey dev, why does wallet take so long to sync? is there any way for me to speed it up or maybe download blockchain from somewhere?

Hi Cyberspacemoney,

There currently is nothing you can do to speed that process up, it takes a little longer because of the schnorr signatures and it validates the POW hash. However, we have a solution to this problem in development and it will be added soon.

Shamefully, we've yet to create an algo that stops fudders.

coin works its secure and is amazing i dont see how a scam can be hatched from that when dev has allready delivered...

think about this

some people got a large amount of coins for nothing  (wish i was one of em)
other people want desperately to gain a large amt of coins from those people before some other people panic and pull the trigger (i was that guy yesterday)

anyone with basic knowledge of this movement can see this is not your typical litecoin clone

let the desperate panic and the foolish sell

i think we all iknow what we got here

btw pos works great and i just minted 75 coins  so whatever you do DONT PUT YOUR COINS IN YOUR WALLET I dont want more weight to compete with

Indeed Mick, the staking is highly rewarding, even over mining at the moment. Smiley glad that you are enjoying this project. We have another crypto first coming for you to enjoy soon.

Hey guys, we're really busy coding right now but it bugs us to see people nipping at other people. While there is a time and a place to correct those who step out of line. We really enjoy reading positivity and enjoyment while we're working.

Everyone here has some more A+ Code and innovation to look forward to.

what type of khash should i get with an amd Fx(tm)-6100 six core processor?

You should average at 5-6 hash per core. what outputs are you seeing in minerd?

Looks interesting, lets hope it stay interesting too.

if only u knew bro dev has explained to me his vision and it is revolutionary ... lets just say the worlds firsts havent ended but are just beginning

Thanks for all the motivational words Mick. We're working on that very vision as we speak and we will have some of it ready to roll out shortly.

Please don't FUD, I understand everyone expects everything to be scams but we have delivered and will be continuing to deliver solid open source technology that will benefit the crypto space as a whole.

We're working on some good updates and will be posting them as we finish them up through the next 6-72 hours.

Proud to announce our quick listing on Bittrex...

https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-AXIOM

We're writing up a detailed explanation of our technology, overhauling the ANN, and updating the website.

Currently in development and testing is enhancing block propagation/sync time, we are testing making multi-threaded, instead doing one block at a time, sequentially.

This will all be open source, like our unique AXIOM RandMemHash and Shabal-256 implementations, and benefit crypto as a whole.

We are reaching out to the original creator of RandMemHash, Sergio Learner and offering him some AXIOMs, as he wrote the paper we based our code on.

Code Quality Grade: A
This coin has pretty much perfect code quality, no apparent network problems and the only issues, if any, are minor nitpicks.

Heritage:

Problems:

* MINOR: Alert key has not been changed
** This could allow for the developer of the coin whcih this was forked from to broadcast a malicious network alert
** If the intention is to disable the alert system, the alert key should be set to "0"

* NOTE: This coin uses a new hashing algorithm.
** There is not necessarily anything wrong with this, but it has not been peer reviewed and battle tested for a long period of time as far as I can see.
** I am not a cryptographer so I'm not capable of giving much opinion on this, the core code had no obvious problems I could see though.
** It's also been evaluated by some other people I know and determined to be secure by them

Notes:

Launch seemed to have quite a few orphaned forks, but otherwise seemed to work pretty well

Wow, my CPU is a lot worse than I thought it would be at this.  However, CPUMiner is only using around 30% of my CPU, odd.  Is anyone else having this issue?  The built-in miner seems to be doing fine, is there any way I can check the hashrate of it?

Be sure to set the value after -T to number of threads on intel, or number of cores on amd. This will utilize all of your processors potential.

couldnt you in theory drop the -t all together and let it run wild ?

You can set -1, but we suggest the free version of HWMonitor and watching your CPU temps if you do that or use a lot of cores.
