61  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I just found this old thread and almost puked - selling 15K bitcoins for $.20 on: November 13, 2017, 09:37:22 PM
Just like the pizza bought for 25K bitcoins, would be an expensive pizza now! Theres always hindsight, eh? but Bitcoin would not be where it is now without starting small like that, and thus if that had not happened, it would not be at the price it is now!

I remember reading about Bitcoin in 2009, and decided not to look into it further...
62  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you think Satoshi Nakamoto keep himself under the radar? on: November 13, 2017, 09:35:18 PM
Anyone with common sense would fly under the radar, I know I would. He proved he was not in this for a mere pump/dump, or he would have cashed out some of the >1 million coins on the chain that are his long before now.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My advice to Bitcoin newbies: relax on: November 13, 2017, 05:37:01 PM
I disagree respectfully. Advice like things like hardware wallets and security and explaining in detail about things to anyone who asks is crucial. We were all newbies once. Obviously some will refuse to follow advice or decide differently, but thats also okay.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I hope you guys won't fall for this BCH joke on: November 13, 2017, 05:34:13 PM
With this whole BCH thing, i tend to say, do not follow the herd off the cliff, do your solid research, and then make up your mind. A pump that fast was sure to dump, but the mania is dangerous. BTC has its own problems, but even so, BCH shouldn't pump/dump that quickly. Logical thinking is needed. Bitmain only accept payments for their latest miner in BCH, thats concerning.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Someone please post advice to help this guy double spend his coins. on: November 13, 2017, 05:22:14 PM
I don't know what the rules are about posting about topics and linking back to them, but i feel this warrants it. Some guy has had BTC stolen that is stuck and not conforming, but his thread title seems to point to the fact that they are gone irretrievably, when there might be a chance, so those who might be able to help him double spend may not see.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2398107.0

I am unsure of the process although understand to create a raw transaction to double spend and push it, i have tried to do that using blockchains node as a test transaction to find it rejects it as a double spend, and my main node is not synced, so if someone could guide him and maybe help him push his transaction from their own node after helping him, that would be great.

Hope this isn't seen as spam, but if there is any way to stop the little thieving slimeball getting the guys coins, it will make my day a bit better Smiley
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BTG claim, BTC gone xD on: November 13, 2017, 05:09:38 PM
I would attempt to double spend the coins quick.

Download the coinomi app on your phone FROM THE PLAY STORE (or use Electrum-LTC to do it) and enter the seed phrase and MOVE ANY other litecoins tied to that recovery phrase that have not yet been stolen, its now compromised. The litecoins attached to that recovery phrase, install the coinomi android app and MOVE them to a NEW litecoin address you control. AS FAST AS POSSIBLE, AS ITS POSSIBLE THEY DO NOT KNOW THE RECOVERY PHRASE IS LINKED TO MULTIPLE COINS and thus only generated the BTC private keys.

create a ltc wallet quickly here or on your own client if you have it installed https://www.litevault.net/ and move the litecoins from that compromised seed to a new address there, then generate a new seed and wallet and move them back. Please hurry, anything to stop the little slimeballs getting their hands on more of your coins is a bonus.

You want to try generating a raw transaction from the BTC address private key thats been compromised, to an uncompromised address that you control.

https://bitzuma.com/posts/how-to-clear-a-stuck-bitcoin-transaction/

Double spend it with a £5 fee to a different address than the one its been stolen to that you control to make sure it gets through. My full node is not synced and would take too long, but send the signed transaction to someone here who can push it through for you, or do it on your own client. The clock is ticking, hurry! I know the amount is $40 USD, but this in the principle and is rightfully your money.

As for the litecoins, I do not know how much you have in Litecoins, but please, move them, and do it fast.

Change the thread title to add about help with double spending, i have posted a thread in the meantime to get people here, as the clock is ticking. As someone may be able to help you. Maybe the stuck network helped someone after all. I pray this works. You can get the private key from the compromised recovery phrase by using electrum and adding the seed through that, selecting BIP39 seed and you can view the private keys to the input addresses to generate transactions.

67  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Be careful when you received this email! on: November 13, 2017, 05:02:19 PM
Did they actually get your coinbase password but were stopped by the 2FA?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1455319.40 was my 2FA experience.

The coinbase vault has an extra level of security on top of 2FA if you use the multisig vault, you can print out the vault and restore it with your passphrase and user key without coinbase, and it has a timed 48H withdraw giving you time to cancel it if they happened to somehow get past 2FA. Someone recently had a sim card swap done to them, so this is a good suggestion, if your storing any quantity of coins in coinbase. I needed to cash out for a house move at the time coinbase were having issues, i used the printed keys to move my coins as i didn't have the time to wait several days for coinbase support.

68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134k unconfirmed transactions now. I'm starting to get really worried about this on: November 13, 2017, 04:59:21 PM
The high fees are doing my nut in as well, thing is i don't think all those were spam... The thing is, the network simply cannot handle the volume of transactions in its current state. Simply increasing the blocksize is a bandaid if bitcoin is to become large, where blocks would end up being several gigabytes if it was anywhere like the volume of visa/mastercard.

NEM and the lightning network do offer solutions to this problem, to a degree.
69  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 135 BTC Stolen from my Deepbit account!!!!!!!! on: November 13, 2017, 04:55:41 PM
135 BTC! Sorry for your loss :O I would contact exchanges and hope they havn't put the coins through a tumbler, 135 BTC is no small sum :/

Seriously, for that quantity of coins, your better splitting them into different accounts/hardware wallets. If you have a large quantity of coins elsewhere, invest in a ledger wallet (the only hardware wallet with a secure enclave). Never trust an online provider, and NEVER entrust your password to that quantity of coins to anyone.

135 BTC though... I don't want to lecture, but also want to give you sound advice, it is why i shout myself hoarse on here regarding hardware wallets.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / [WTB] A4 Dominator, small or large OR KNC Titan on: November 13, 2017, 02:54:30 PM
I am interested in buying an A4 dominator. small or large or a KNC Titan. I want one for the living room to use as a heater to mine litecoins directly, no multipool. Not too fussed about profitability, as its electricity we already use on heaters, we have GPUs keeping the other rooms warm <3

Does anyone have any for sale here? Escrow only with psychoticboy, no fake ogansty or psychoticboy emails please, I am wise to that scam. I will pay escrow fee. Serious sellers only, please. If you are in the UK i would be happy to get the train down with a suitcase up to 200 miles to pick up a miner and pay in cold hard cash Smiley

72  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134k unconfirmed transactions now. I'm starting to get really worried about this on: November 12, 2017, 01:34:05 PM
I did post about a potential on here for starting up a crypto based grocery store, and on many other places. Interest was next to zero, I did market research to find no one wanted it, and thus I ended up doing another business. I had a vision for practical USE of the currency to buy and deliver non perishable food and shopping parcels to peoples homes with bitcoin, but market research found little interest to those in the Bitcoin world, nor outside of it, hence I bailed, it did not pass the feasibility study at that time.
73  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134k unconfirmed transactions now. I'm starting to get really worried about this on: November 12, 2017, 01:29:15 PM
I made two ETH to BTC buy transactions today over the Exodus wallet/exchange, smooth as a baby's bottom! Cool

Sometimes I wonder if all these crybabies are for real, or paid bots!

We run Get-Paid.com - since 2008, we pay users incentives to complete offers.
We paid one of our users 2 days ago with a fee of $0.70 as suggested by Blockchain system:

https://blockchain.info/tx/cf912968ebc5373e6393be5c7819a1ddee93e4b763e2c4c7f2e529a0c4a01c87

It hasn't been confirmed yet.

Do you think we have nothing else to do other than write all this?
It's a serious issue.

It is a serious issue, as i stated above, it is negating Bitcoins utility as a payment system.
74  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134k unconfirmed transactions now. I'm starting to get really worried about this on: November 12, 2017, 01:13:27 PM

That's bad.
You sent a BTC transaction 2 days ago with a fee of $5 approx. and it hasn't been confirmed yet.

We don't recall seeing something like this in the past.
Bitcoin is in big trouble.

Same thing happened to me, a 5 USD equiv fee which took 24 hours. A week ago, a 8 USD fee which took 8 hours to confirm. Me and my clients have had enough of the high fees.

It is in trouble, and i cannot bury my head in the sand, i was recieving payments in BTC from clients and business customers for the past two years from across the world, we have now moved to NEM/Litecoin, as I cannot take the volatility in price nor this endless high fee with nothing serious being done to address it, many people wanting prices to go up/down to benefit THEM, at the expense of the currencies utility and endless debates and arguing with nothing done, even the segwit implementation did very little thus far. This is not unlike the dotcom boom, in its current state, its viable for nothing more than digital gold. I mine a bit, but for the most part, i use it as it was intended, a digital payment system which worked well from across the world, its even cheaper for us to use PayPal at the moment for our TX sizes. Increasing the block size isn't enough. Imagine a whole towns worth of transactions every second. This would choke the Bitcoin network even with huge blocks, now try and expand that globally. Yes, there is serious trouble. And this isn't FUD, for me a drop in price is not good given the fact I make from GPUs to pay for the winter heating and a bit extra, for me a drop in price isn't beneficial, but how long can everything run on hot air and mania for? There needs to be solid steps for its PRACTICAL utility as a currency, or it will forever be a store of digital gold, and i would rather own physical gold and silver over a digital version, as you have something thats tangible.

You have people selling their HOUSES, their security that they OWN and taking out second mortgages to get on this train. If that isn't mania, I do not know what is. Even if i had a 99% chance of a profit, i would NEVER gamble that roof over my head, that security where if i owned no rent to pay, no risk of losing my home, that comfort and security is worth too much to me, but people ARE gambling this. I saw someone trying to get a £5k loan on here to get onto the mining train.

I will admit, i cashed out around £10k to help me move to this city and set up here with my partner and a business. I missed out on £50k had I held which is a bit of a bummer. But do i hold regrets? No. I have stability in my life and not uncertainty, an amazing home with my partner, and I have been expanding my reach for my meditation and spiritual seeking group too, keeping a balance. raw cash alone will not be enough to lure me in, im perfectly content with my life.

Don't get greedy. I have been investing a bit per month into digital currency, but its not gambling what i cannot afford to lose, but to see where it goes. I do not spend all day on a forum endlessly speculating, nor getting red-eyed in front of charts all day, its not healthy for the mind, and creates apathy. I even see people gloating on forums like this when the prices rise/falls, apathy to the fact that some lost for their gains. Apathy to those outside of the cryptoland, its addiction and is not unlike a gambling problem, hence why I took some time out from the digital currency world to balance myself, the mental health improvement has been worth more than £40k. Seeing the world, seeing my friends, spiritual meditation and channeling groups, seeking.

Thats been worth it, but I am also into IT as a hobby and therefore am mining a bit with GPUs with the power cost negated by the need to heat, investing a few quid a week into currencies like NEM, and seeing where the wind takes me. Everyones path is sacred to them however, whatever they chose. But this is my stance on the current state of Bitcoin, and thus direct much energy to trying to improve the world at large as endlessly speculating will do nothing, everyone i see is waiting for change, rather than looking within to help it be expressed.

75  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan; .006btc on: November 12, 2017, 01:05:57 PM
If you need to sign a message, export the private key and import it into electrum and then sign (keep the wallet passworded).

Second the post about accounts anyhow, try and find a different collateral.

76  Economy / Lending / Re: Lending to create rigg! Good Return! on: November 12, 2017, 12:40:45 PM
weather or not this is a scam account or not, never gamble with credit. Essentially this is gambling, but not with your own money as you know very well that without collateral, you could easily pocket the funds and walk.

If i ever needed a loan of any size on here, i would offer physical colleteral (be it an iPad, silver bar, high end graphics card or laptop etc, or whatever else or a combination therof) for the value of the loan + 10 - 20% and cover shipping both ways. But never take out a loan to gamble with, you are never GUARANTEED future income, it is merely gambling. I invested in some GPUs knowing I could sell them if push came to shove, but i would never gamble with any form of loan or credit.

Steam accounts are easy to retrieve by showing proof of purchases to steam support no matter who you give the account to.

Seriously, do not invest with money you cannot afford to lose. If you are genuine, be so careful, you must take into account power costs, potential risk of equipment failure, security of your coins, and changes in the market. Do not invest what you don't have, as you will never be in a position to repay if it went south. Plus maturity and ROI of most hardware is long. Warranty being 90 days for most, which is less than the ROI time.

A good example of collateral is physical or if you own any valuable altcoins, from a valuable piece of jewelry you may own, to any high end hardware (physical collateral) if you can cover insured shipping both ways to a trusted escrow like psychoticboy.

If you have a high end phone, laptop, high end camera, jewelry, bonds you can transfer, or similar as an example that could be used as physical collateral. This acts as security for the lender for the loan. For a loan that high, if you can find a local lender on here with luck, you could for example transfer an asset into their name (car you own, etc) or a combination of the above suggestions. No one who is sane will loan that amount without a valid piece of collateral.

I know the cost of getting 'in' is high right now, but there are some promising alts like NEM that might be cheaper if you only have a small amount to invest, or buy a GPU like the nvidia 1070 - 1080 or AMD Vega 64 for a few hundred to dip your toe in the mining game, you can use the nicehash miner and get bitcoin as a result, and still have something that will keep some value.

Please, please do not let emotion get you suckered into investing blindly. Some guy recently sold his HOUSE, his roof over his head to buy bitcoin at the current prices, even if you profited the risk of gambling your SECURITY which will always be there is big, I don't care how much profit i COULD make, if i already have such security as a roof over my head that I own. In your case, gambling a £5k loan and being £5k in debt if it all goes south, i advice you don't do it even if you have collateral, even if you have a lender and you can both work out a deal, you are risking your collateral and the lender's time for a gamble which may or may not pay off.

Don't get greedy. I lost out on £50k by NOT gambling and selling many of my coins at £1k, but I still was £10+k in profit in this entire venture and I wasn't going to get greedy, ill admit I was wrong about the potentials for Bitcoin price this year, and instead moved to this house and set up a functional business, but at the current prices, the caution is recommended more so. I couldn't afford to lose £10k and had the potential to have enough for my dream home with my partner, so I walked and took the money which went towards the move. No regrets. You cannot afford to lose this £5k, so please don't do it.

And do not take investment advice based solely on emotion or logic, but a careful balance between the two, because go all logical like I did, i did not factor in the mania/emotional component that would drive the price up higher like it has despite Bitcoins lack of utility at the moment as a payment network (i have switched to another coin to transact with my clients due to high fees). So there is going to be a ceiling where investors 'run out' and without practical utility as a payment system, there will be a kind of upper price floor.

But also, do not let mania and trading take over your life, the endless stress of watching markets can create a form of apathy towards the world in general, not unlike gambling addiction or similar addiction. Think carefully before you invest, and whatever you decide to do, there are no mistakes in this world, in this life and incarnation, only free will. Stick by your decisions, whatever you chose to do, all I can do is offer my advice. If you get into this, spend £60 on a ledger hardware wallet and securely store your seed as its much more secure than just having a wallet on your PC, research your investment, ignore the mining calculators, they change faster than your daily underwear change.

And, have fun!

78  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 134k unconfirmed transactions now. I'm starting to get really worried about this on: November 12, 2017, 12:00:27 AM
Ill be honest, the endless wait for my funds to confirm (even waited 24 hours+) with a 5 USD fee, this has me and my clients transacting in NEM and Litecoin. 5 USD TX fee is more expensive than PayPal.

79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will become the best worldwide cryptocurrency and digital payment system on: November 10, 2017, 09:28:32 PM
To be honest, until they solve the abysmal transaction fees I have had to pay recently, I do not see it becoming a payment system in the slightest, more like digital gold. Other currencies may take that crown...
