61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XBC] BitcoinPlus 3.0 Official Thread on: August 04, 2016, 10:01:42 AM
Just messaged Tristan and Poloniex team about adding more XBC markets.

Great Stuff. Much appreciated.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XBC] BitcoinPlus 3.0 Official Thread on: July 01, 2016, 09:04:06 AM
So XBC needs a developer? Is that the biggest issue?

No. We have an agreement in place with Mammix who coded the current wallet for us that he has first refusal for all future work. You could say he is a freelance dev. Mammix is a coder based in the UK. He has his own coin - Boost Coin. Mammix looks after one of the TOR nodes. I look after the other.

It is up to the community to decide on the direction of the coin. Be it a mobile wallet or whatever. Specific ideas and suggestions should be placed on the dedicated forum accessed from the website - http://www.bitcoinplus.org/ so that ideas do not get lost in this thread.

If the community does not come forward with ideas we will simply tick along until such a time an opportunity/idea presents itself.

New Technology is changing very quickly and most top coins now have an actual purpose and not just a digital monetary token. Yes XBC has anonymous messaging. But without the killer app using the technology it is lost amongst all the other coins with anonymous messaging.

There will be a host of similar coins such as us with relatively small market capital all in the same boat so going forward some sort of collaboration with similar coins may be an idea.

Update on mobile wallet. We have had quotes for around 1 BTC in total. But it would not be a staking wallet and there would be on going server costs. At the moment you can use https://cointopay.com/ which is a Payment Service that has XBC. You can use this a mobile wallet.

Hi
is Bitcoinplus have any relation with BTCPLUS?
https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,22234.0.html
thanks

I dont have a clue what this BTCPLUS is apart from it being some made up asset on bitshares.AFAIK it has NOTHING to do with XBC/BitcoinPlus

https://cryptofresh.com/a/BTCPLUS

Nothing to do with us at all. Same as the .com for www.bitcoinplus .Not ours. Not ideal but also not always a bad thing. People have more reason to google bitcoinplus and as long as we are top 3 in the search engines we get free traffic to our website.

I'll add a blog post tonight making the position clear what domains are ours etc.

I had a question earlier about using the private key as a secondary way to backup your wallet.

To save your private key using "B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W" as the example address:

1. Start your XBC wallet
2. If it is locked just unlock it but uncheck "For staking only"
3. Go to menu Help > Debug window > tab Console
4. In bottom input box type the following line and press enter

dumpprivkey B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W

5. Write down code returned on few papers / files / whatever and keep it safe, that is private key for address B539KQtetSJRZo3JJLc1XRNEZRzGyVgU2W
6. Later if your HDD fails again, computer ends up stolen or something like that just use

importprivkey privatekey label

to import address to some other XBC wallet. Label is name for address that will be imported, it can be anything you want.

It would also make sense to store the wallet.dat file on another secondary disk drive or usb and if your pc crashes just get another wallet and insert the wallet.dat from the usb into the new wallet programme files. To find your executables just type in roaming into your windows searck and go to bitcoinplus files and delete the empty wallet and replace with your old copy.make sure it is named wallet and not XBCwallet, bitcoinpluswallet etc etc

This has been modified and updated on the XBC Blog -
http://www.bitcoinplus.org/how_to_back_up_my_Bitcoin_Plus_wallet.php
http://www.bitcoinplus.org/importing_a_private_key_into_Bitcoin_Plus_wallet.php

It has also been added to the Tutorials and How To section on the forum -

Great to see interest increasing for this coin. Currrent Market Capital taken from Coinmarket is $ 73,557 which equates to 161 BTC. Lots of action on Poloniex this afternoon. For those who have recently invested in this coin and wish to help shape the next direction we take let us know your ideas on the XBC Forum. http://www.bitcoinplus.org/xbcforum/

Whilst the community is starting to grow again its time to start thinking about the next upgrade/development to this coin. The current team have our own ideas but I would rather the collective community decided.

XBC Team are looking to hire 1 Content Writer for the XBC Blog and How To Tutorials on the XBC Forum. Payment is negotiable but will be around the $5-10 per article.

Payment will be in BTC or XBC. XBC Team will provide a list of 20 Article Titles from which to work from. The content writer must be able to use screenshots where relevant and be able to answer technical questions in a way that any newcomer would understand. We are not after massive essays just unique relevant content that the lay person will understand.

If anyone is interested please contact myself or Egghead or Bitcoinplusbus with a sample of previous work.

I have had a question about how to start staking in the wallet after setting it up etc so :

When you open the wallet it will automatically search for nodes to connect to.This may take a while so just leave it open until it finds something and you should end up with about 20 connections.

Your wallet will start staking coins on its balance after 24 hours. You can also make sure that coins are always kept out of staking and a portion of your balance is always spendable by going to : settings > options and then entering the amount in reserve that you want to keep spendable.

JAN. 2009 1000 BTC = $1
NOV. 2013 1000 BTC = $1,100,000

JAN. 2016 1000 XBC = $80
MAY 2016 1000 XBC = $22,500 - $45,000

XBC JUST GETTING STARTED...

This is a very impressive turnaround for xbc but you will need many thousands btc volume in order to be realistic with your price projections.Buy support below 100 btc is nothing really these days.Who knows maybe some large entity will absorb xbc and you will all be super rich but what is future development ideas because community and all the other non commercial ideals are not realistic.Utility and value to separate from all the other countless coins out there is nescessary and even though xbc has a fraction of coins than other high value ones like dash etc with xbc just as anonymous and having messaging etc it still cannot compete with all the hype of these coins. You need something to create a panic and major hype for all these crypto people with the attention span of a house fly.

It is up to the community now to decide on the direction of this coin. Website is being updated to reflect this more than before. http://www.bitcoinplus.org/ and http://www.bitcoinplus.org/xbcforum/

More updates coming in the next couple of weeks.

but price on  cryptopia  have no signification, low volume

True  Smiley

However.....We currently have 12BTC buy support on Poloniex which isn't a lot in the grand scales of things but in recent times for XBC is good stuff. Nearly 10,000 XBC has been traded in the last 24 hours. If you have XBC you want to trade now is the time.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XBC] {Wallet Update} Only Traded on Poloniex on: May 03, 2016, 06:40:32 AM
Who is going to take over for JJMV? XBC is just getting started and is going all the way.

Just getting started?  Where have you been for the past couple years?  XBC has died, been revived, died again, revived again, and now is gasping for it's last breath.  Long live the struggle of XBC

I have to agree with rushmybitcoin ! Great Anon Messaging Wallet, Secure and stable wallet. New Investors on board. New website coming soon, More exchanges being targeted as we speak. Just because 1 person who was involved in XBC wants to put his family and personal life first doesn't mean XBC is grasping for breath. Family ALWAYS comes first. Everthing else including Crypto is second.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XBC] {Wallet Update} Only Traded on Poloniex on: April 27, 2016, 07:42:17 PM
It is all in hand. I'm waiting to confirm a couple of things with JJMV and Egghead. Essentially there will not be any major changes. This is still a community coin. Anyone who wants to help out by way of resources or ideas get in touch.

Good day does not pass through here. Because nobody accepted my offer and my colleagues I invest in other businesses of the capital. But I will throw my last offer, or you can make an offer. Otherwise, we sell currencies. And we wish you much success. Please you answers and serious and fair deals. businessman. Not a child playing Dum and Pum. Good success to everyone. My offer. 2 BTC  x 4,000 XBC. If you accept my offer you will see a price never before seen in this currency. And I'm not talking about Pump, I talk about long-term stability, atleast 2 to 3 months.

2 BTC  x 4,000 xbc

At the end of 2015 that would of been a fair price. 2 BTC of 0.0005 = 4000 XBC. But these days you are looking at just under 4 BTC on the exchange. The problem is 4000 is around 5% of total coins of XBC. No body has that amount to sell. You are only going to get that amount on the exchange like everyone else.

If you were a serious investor you would not be haggling about 2 BTC. That is pocket money for any serious investor. If you want out then sell your currencies, the market will always recover. No matter what price it goes down to.

Either buy on the Poloniex exchange and join the community or find another coin.

Thats not a nice way to speak to someone who wants to see your beloved coin at 500btc now is it?The very reason he is asking for a stack is because its impossible to get a large stack because all you greedy bagholders already have accumulated them already.I have read every post on every thread related to this coin and analysed every wallet balance transaction on this and the previous blockchain and am glad you fools will turn down any proposal because you dont deserve squat. You have let this coin linger in the most mundane and worthless position from a trading point of view and NOBODY will be buying into a low volume and low liquidity coin unless they want to die from boredom or enjoy sitting watching the paint dry.

It was a very fair answer. What you mean is it wasn't the answer you wanted to hear.

If anyone is actually genuinely interested in investing in the coin hit me or any other community member in a private message. We can setup a skype meeting where all community members can listen to what you have to offer. Depending on what you can bring to the table i'll even buy you 4000 XBC myself. As I said earlier its only 4 BTC on Poloniex for 4000 XBC. End of.

Mine appears to be synced and staking. Block 99817 which is identical to the block explorer one. Seems to be moving along nicely.

How much BTC is still needed for the wallet ?
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XBC [Official Thread] BitcoinPlus Anonymous encrypted transactions & messaging on: December 22, 2015, 04:25:04 PM
The price is what people think the coin is worth. It may be rubbish. But being negative about the price really doesn't help. It is not going to be self sufficient without a constant flow of new people investing. We do need meet up in the new year and brainstorm.

JJMV - How are the payments made for the various monthly costs ? Can they made by paypal ? I can transfer some bitcoin but would rather just deal direct. PM us the details. Might be easier to simply transfer everything over to me.

79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XBC [Official Thread] BitcoinPlus Anonymous encrypted transactions & messaging on: December 18, 2015, 11:41:48 AM
We are still waiting for these coins to be transferred back to the community account.I have made contact and he has assured me he will return them

https://www.blockexperts.com/xbc/address/B4zPUEAKNtgfSATsMwaABmoxr6wpkvYqo2

This is the original transaction from the xbc community account @ poloniex to that address.Bitcoinmagic donated 1000 xbc of those coins so its up to him what he wants to do when they are returned.Alecrypt0 is apparently on vacation and not near his wallet however if he cannot get to his wallet within a reasonable I would suggest he gives us the private key to that address if he has dumped it:

XBC   1500.00010000   B4zPUEAKNtgfSATsMwaABmoxr6wpkvYqo2   2015-10-05 19:05:39   COMPLETE: 1c547bc3f4e6c4bde4689f4026e31828fb19f0832687ffb2a047341d025f076c

Keep them in your account and if we get another dev on board next year use it for that.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: XBC [Official Thread] BitcoinPlus Anonymous encrypted transactions & messaging on: December 17, 2015, 08:32:56 PM
No dump going on. Its me giving some coins to the community on the cheap. Trying to get traders back. I'll go as low as it takes until people bite. The coins are worthless as it stands.

Eh we protected this coin from major dumps even when selling off coins to raise funds so dumping it into kingdom come is less than helpful in my opinion. It would make more sense to buy up all the coins to a decent price and dump from there. The reason xbc is not viable at the moment is because the community coins cannot raise enough btc for development so how do you expect us to fund maintainence when the wallet has to be dipped into again to pay bills and the price is shyte?

XBC needs a marketplace where peeps can buy sell and trade legitimate goods and services and also access to coin payments etc.Random traders are not needed only marketmakers to stabilise a low total amount coin at a more or less fixed price and xbc is pointless unless the price reflects the total coinage so the coin is valuable and viable enough to do any development with.

Putting low priced stacks of coins into random traders hands is only setting it up for dumps at slightly higher prices until the buy and sell eventually depletes the price.I have seen these patterns over years with various other coins/projects.

Thats just my opinion but carry on..

I understand the concerns but.......
We had zero volume for nearly a week and we have no lead dev. Why would Polo continue to host XBC for zero profit. They are a business.
Any object is only as valuable as what the next person is willing to pay for it. The price has been kept artificially high for quite a while now. No-one was buying apart from me, you and a couple of others. I supported the coin where I could this year to the extent that I have an unhealthy amount of coins. I have lot of respect for yourself and JJMV for leading the project and bringing out the last wallet update and just felt this coin had a great future with people who I could trust. Also I've said before I will cover maintanance fees on a monthly basis so you can stop worrying about that. I tried to help out with dev costs but Ale fell short of expectations. Hopefully in the next few months we will find a dev willing to work with us.

I disagree that putting coins into random traders is a bad thing. The more traders the better. This week I have sold just over 1000 XBC. At most that is 0.25 BTC. Just over $100. That is nothing. That is not a dump. Its simply trading. When you start selling off $1000's then that is different. The BTC has gone straight back on the support side.
