61  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When will Altcoins come out of the Bear Market? on: May 23, 2019, 07:49:26 AM
Altcoins are falling behind bitcoin as bitcoin has come out of the bear market so when will altcoins follow?
they are not falling behind, they are already behind. and their trend is the expected trend that has always happened.
when btcoin rises, altcoins fall.
when bitcoin falls, altcoins fall.
when bitcoin is stable, altcoins get pumped.
it has always been like this.

Quote
Can someone compare the patterns from 2017-2018 to 2019 now when it comes to altcoins?
the same trend as above has been happening in 2017, 17, 19 and any other year. the only thing different in 2017 is that whenever there is a big surge of newbies in the market who have no understanding of what is going on in this pump and dump show, they invest their money in anything that exists. so altcoins get pumped during bitcoin rise in those times and that is the only exception.
62  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The perfect solution to scam in the crypto space on: May 23, 2019, 07:30:29 AM
unfortunately none of these things are going to work and we have already some experience in each case and seen them not work.
for example regulations that people are nowadays so happy about are only to help the government tax people to only get their share of the money that is changing hands in the unregulated altcoin market otherwise they are not going to police the market to remove the scams.
as for auditing, we have had good cases of things that worked but only for a short while before the auditors turned into scammers as they accepted the bribes by ICO scammers to advertise their scam as a legitimate fundraising.
63  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Coin (BNB) reaches new ATH at $ 31, Binance 2.0 is about to debut? on: May 23, 2019, 07:11:44 AM
i am very surprised about how they are pumping this coin still after all the pumps that they have done already. it is not like BNB is a special coin or has any utilities, it is another centralized coin with little usage in their platform but the hype of it seems to be overtaking the market and there is a ton of money being pumped into it to continue its price rise. i am just wondering how long they can keep it up.

Oh do you think it's pumped? This is the Coin of the trading platform that has a very good foundation and I think it will increase in price.
When investors believe in the development of Binance, they will invest in it and the price will increase.
In addition to the IEO policies on this floor, investors need to use the BNB itself to buy other tokens. This is probably the next cause. And I believe it will go even further

i didn't say it won't go higher, pumped coins will get pumped for as long as their pumpers are capable of.

i didn't know it about people being forced to buy BNB, if that is true then it means Binance is so much wiser than i thought, they are doing the only thing that made ETH big! meaning they sit back and let the ICO/IEO hype from scammers do their pump for them.
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH vs. BNB on: May 23, 2019, 06:58:11 AM
Which coin do you think would have a huge pace of growth in 2019?
Your answer should be backed by data.

Comparing the two, id rather believe that ETH will still dominate due to its large market, meanwhile BNB is still limited as of now, but maybe in the long run, BNB could still dominate this year. we still dont know, but i am a believer of both coins, in the name of profits.

the centralization of BNB is more serious than ETH and while that is a bad thing but in case of investment people care about their short term profit and as long as they are pumping it, this can be a good thing for them.
at the same time ETH's survival depends on ICOs and as ICOs are dying these days  this token is also having a lot of trouble staying alive.
65  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Cryto Mining recover in the future? on: May 23, 2019, 06:43:27 AM
you are talking about a very special case that rarely happens when the shitcoins are getting pumped every day in the market and as a miner you can earn a ton of them by mining if you have a decent mining rig. this is not a good idea in my opinion because it is risky for one and it is hard for another. i prefer trading during times like that because it gives me a lot more flexibility that i can move around much faster from one pumping shitcoin to another while a miner can't do that easily.
66  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Hardware Wallet Hacked? on: May 23, 2019, 06:33:55 AM
as far as hacking goes, anything can be hacked because there is no 100% secure wallet out there that can protect you without having any bugs or exploits. as for hardware wallets, they are secure and the chances of them being hacked are minimal, not to mention that the hacker has to have physical access to your hardware device which shouldn't happen in first place.

in any case when it comes to security you sometimes should worry more about the 5 dollar wrench attack.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CoinGecko Adds “Trust Score” to Combat Fake Exchange Volume Data. Can it work? on: May 22, 2019, 04:25:43 PM
i have always liked these other sites that didn't go the same way as coinmarketcap.com and instead have been trying to be different and fix their obvious mistakes. CoinGecko has always been among those sites that had nice features in their list to sort coins based on things that matter more than market capitalization but still it is not going to be enough because the market is still very chaotic and lots and lots of factors should be considered for every coin which makes it impossible to just come up with the best ones.
that extends to exchanges too. the Trust score they are using is good but it has a lot of room for error and if it takes off there are easy ways of manipulating it and faking it again.

69  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What Can $50 Million From Banks Add To The Crypto Industry? on: May 19, 2019, 05:14:26 AM
i'm not really familiar with this project, but it sounds like another altcoin trying to pump itself to me.

in any case as far as banks go, they never invest in anything they can not control or can not give them money. so your title saying "crypto industry" doesn't really make much sense to me. what banks invest in, is going to be their own centralized, possibly even closed source, token that they fully control. something like JPMorgan coin.
as a result, things like that are not our concern because nobody in this community wants a centralized bank coin.
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Number of STOs May Double While IEOs Will Almost Triple By Q4 2019 on: May 19, 2019, 04:58:28 AM
you can not predict these things because they purely depend on how people react to them. for example ICOs have been dying because people stopped paying attention to them and stopped throwing their money away at these scams.
then STOs came and gained a tiny popularity before they go the same route and now we are at IEOs which are pretty much on the same path as ICO and STO because they are not different from each other and none of them have any future. besides that IEOs get dumped much faster than ICO and STO because they are already listed on exchanges and people have clear plans on when and how they are going to dump whereas previously they had to wait and beg to be able to dump their tokens.
as a result of losses people are stopping to give money to IEOs too and they will soon die just like their predecessors.
71  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Bullrun on: May 19, 2019, 04:47:18 AM
we don't have altcoin "bull runs" all we have is altcoin "pumps" and so far they always happen whenever bitcoin price is stable or at least moderately stable that makes making money for bitcoin traders trading bitcoin, hard. so they switch over to altcion market and as the pumpers see that, they start pumping the altcoins so that everyone can make profit.

we have already had a nice little altcoin pump last month and the month before that when bitcoin price was stable and everyone was accumulating bitcoin.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTC price is much more important than USD price on: May 17, 2019, 05:29:45 PM
the worst part is that most of the investors specially those on this forum speaking about it and all those who are using altcoin exchanges are using bitcoin to buy and sell altcoins!!! in fact nearly all the altcoin exchanges only have bitcoin as their base market then have other altcoins like tether as  the secondary market!
so it doesn't even make sense to talk about USD value of something that you didn't even buy with USD and you will never sell to USD!!!
73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum difficulty dropped significantly today on: May 17, 2019, 05:13:03 PM
Did anyone else notice the difficulty of ethereum on the largest pool out there for those who mine it has dropped a very larger amount?
The number of blocks found have sky dived too.

these two statements can not be correct at the same time!
in a normal non-manipulated Proof of Work cryptocurrency, if the difficulty drops it shows that there has been a delay in number of blocks found in the difficulty adjustment period. that is WHY it drops otherwise if the number of blocks found increases then it must mean a difficulty "rise" not fall.

so you are either making a mistake about these two or someone is seriously manipulating the network and the difficulty with his huge hashrate and is making a lot of money from dumping the extra easily mined coins!
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Your Emotions: Highs and Lows of the Bull Runs on: May 17, 2019, 05:00:23 PM
i only hold bitcoin because it is the only thing that has a real potential and is worth holding! and whenever it rises i only feel how my expectations are coming true and whenever it has a correction i am happy because i know i can buy more.

and at the same time whenever i see an atlcoin rise the only thing i can ever think of is when is the dump going to start and that way of thinking has always prevented me from losing money in any altcoin when they inevitably get dumped.
75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top coins to have in my portfolio? on: May 17, 2019, 04:32:41 PM
take heed of the incidents of the past couple of weeks and you may get your answer and it can make you think whether you even have a "portfolio" or not.
in short summary ever since bitcoin price started rising, altcoins started losing their value against bitcoin and go down. this is something that has always happened during times like this. then when bitcoin reached its maximum near $8k and started a correction, the altcoins started losing their value again this time with a faster speed.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: This is getting a bit out of hand.... on: May 13, 2019, 11:43:46 AM
i wouldn't really call this "getting out of hand" because we have a long way to go before we reach that crazy stage where price shoots up unexpectedly without any reason and we wouldn't be able to explain it in any ways. right now this rise was not only well expected but also anticipated and explainable. not to mention that it isn't that big a rise to begin with. a small 10-15% rise in a couple of days after months of big crazy drops to unexpected lows is just a natural course of the market correcting itself.
77  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altar Coins = 20% Capital on: May 13, 2019, 11:27:55 AM
don't be disappointed. just learn from the mistakes that you have made so far in altcoin market. next time you wanted to buy an altcoin and bag hold it indefinitely think of this case and all the previous times that you lost money because of bag holding some altcoin thinking it has long term potential.

this is not new either. for as long as the altcoin market existed people have been making similar mistakes mainly because they are misled by the pumpers who always encourage them to bag hold the altcoins they are dumping so that they can get the best price out of the market without anybody else interfering with it.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will mining be profitable again? on: May 13, 2019, 11:12:21 AM
in your post you are talking about bitcoin but you posted it in altcoin board so do you mean bitcoin mining or altcoin mining? because it is unclear!

bitcoin mining has always been profitable, that is why it has the highest hashrate which is so huge that nobody can 51% attack it without spending millions of dollars. and it will remain profitable no matter what the price is because of the well design mining algorithm that adjusts the difficulty of mining based on the hashrate.
79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what do you think of this year's TNB? on: May 13, 2019, 10:58:56 AM
the sheer number of newbies accounts that have been posting about this coin lately on bitcointalk suggests that there is something fishy going on about this coin and in my experience it is best if people stay away from cases like this which have to be "advertised" nonstop through lots of relentless spam on social media! just looking at first page of altcoin board reveals 4 topics about this token all low quality.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fundraising scam ,the way I see new projects on: May 13, 2019, 10:50:53 AM
you are starting to make sense of the market now! and hopefully more people become like you and see past all the attractive advertisement of ICOs and stop throwing their money away at these scams. in fact there is no reason any of them would ask for money since they are not doing anything, solving no problems and not delivering any products.
any good project has always been completely decentralized, with no premine and no fund raising. you can always compare a new project with bitcoin to see how bad they are!
