61  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mt Gox "All time" chart extremely out of date on: April 19, 2011, 12:10:58 PM
http://bitcoincharts.com has all data Smiley
62  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MtGox SierraChart bridge - Realtime Bitcoin charts on: April 18, 2011, 05:05:16 AM
@slush: can you add support for other symbols?
63  Economy / Economics / Re: New bitcoincharts.com is live! on: April 15, 2011, 02:20:25 AM
Weekly chart added. 2 hours of coding just to get the SQL query right :/
64  Economy / Economics / Re: New bitcoincharts.com is live! on: April 14, 2011, 10:51:06 PM
weekly intervals: I'll add that soon, but I need to teach my SQL queries to know about weekstarts (same for months).

BTC vs. Gold is still on my todo, though low priority.

Another coder might really help, but I can't afford to pay one. I'm still looking for ways to fund development of bitcoincharts so I could spend a few weeks adding all those missing features fulltime.
65  Economy / Economics / Re: New bitcoincharts.com is live! on: April 14, 2011, 07:19:52 PM
New features:
* list raw orderbook entries
* weighted prices and trade volume for markets for last 15min .. 1year
* summary page for each market

Comments? Missing features? Smiley

I like your market depth charts.  They appear to be true histograms, unlike the one on Mt Gox.  However, I don't see any orders above 1.4, even though Mt Gox shows something like 20,000 currently.

Edit: It seems to be working now, 14 Apr 1500Z.

There's a race condition that causes only part of the histogram/data table to be displayed sometimes. It will be fixed soon.

Any chance we could get shorter time frames than 15 minute candles?

1-min and 5-min intervals added
68  Economy / Economics / Re: Live streaming quotes for all markets on bitcoincharts.com on: April 13, 2011, 04:18:31 AM
Can we get a weighted BTC/{your 2nd favorit currency here} exchange rate too? Something like we get for 24h on http://www.taters.net/cgi-bin/btc/matrix.pl?axisinc=0.01 that unfortunately only covers mtgox trades.

I added weighted prices to both http://bitcoincharts.com and http://bitcoinwatch.com
It's also available as json: http://bitcoincharts.com/t/weighted_prices.json
69  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: System tray icon odd behavior on: April 11, 2011, 02:54:11 PM
Systray icon behaviour: agreed, sounds logical.

Closing window: As long as the main windows represents the bitcoin program (and not just a view of the transaction list) it should actually close when the user clicks the "x". There's already the minimize button to hide the window instead.

added download icons to http://bitcoincharts.com/~tcatm/bitcoin.org/

I think it's very important to have a good explanation of what Bitcoin is and how it works on bitcoin.org, translated into many languages.  Bitcoin is still something very new and different and most people don't know much about it. While the wiki is nice for in-depth articles a short but correct overview (say 2..3 subpages: What it is, how to use it and fundamental protocol rules) will be helpful to users just discovering bitcoin. It shouldn't go too much into how it is used today, though. Just explain what you can do with it (i.e. no RPC documentation) and don't focus too much on the "official" client.

I didn't know you were using Internet Explorer. The fix only works for Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera.
73  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin.org Redesign (mockups inside) on: April 07, 2011, 07:46:39 PM
What screen resolution are you referring to? It works from 995px wide screens up to >1500px.

It causes a horizontal scroll bar to appear on the width I keep my browser at. The navigation menu is barely visible on 800x600.

Fixed. Video playback is broken on <983px and Firefox 3, though.

another idea (not finished/WIP): http://bitcoincharts.com/~tcatm/bitcoin.org/

It looks nice, but it's too wide.

I added a small hack to fix the layout in IE7.
76  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin.org Redesign (mockups inside) on: April 07, 2011, 06:36:13 PM
I think it's IE8 (win7) which is also available for WinXP.
77  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin.org Redesign (mockups inside) on: April 07, 2011, 06:18:37 PM
IE works fine here: http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/4906/86163378.png

@kiba: My mockup has a dedicated link to the video. I don't think there is enough space to show the video on the front page in a reasonable size.

80  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / telnet bitcoincharts.com 27006 (tx/block monitor) on: April 06, 2011, 02:23:14 PM
outputs ASCII representations of transactions and blocks as they appear on the network
