Just added a second S7LN to Kano Pool once I saw that bitcoin is FREAKING OVER 9K!!!!!
Now I just got to find a place to add my third S7LN. This is just crazy good.
I retired the S7s when it got hot last spring. Well, its not hot now, and bitcoin profits will
easily pay for the higher electric bill.

Powerline AV Ethernet Adapters work very well with up to a few miners on them.   here is an example of one simuler to mine that I use to get networking out to my detached garage and have had 3 S9's and an S7 miners running through a network switch then into the adapter and no bandwidth problems at all.

Thanks, will check it out!

A black Friday block for Kano pool!
Lets hope this trend continues! It would be nice to have a little extra in the winter solstice/Christmas/New Years stocking.
Gotta figure a way to get a miner into my bedroom as it is a bit chilly in their now. Power I have, network, well, I may have to get the drill out and make a hole in the floor, Smiley .

A newly found block for our pool!  A welcome addition to Thanksgiving.
Hope everyone is enjoying the day whether you have it off in the USA or doing your daily routine elsewhere.

(yeah it crashed/restarted again - that why I disabled logins)

I just started using the ckpool android app about a week ago. Is it possible the app is being used as part of a DDos attack?
I like the ability to check my hash rate and to get an alert when the pool finds a block. It does check it every 10 minutes or so.
Just wondering. I realize the "distributed" part of the attack means it comes from a lot of different sources, but there is the possibility of over 900 users hitting your pool info at whatever interval the app is set for.

Luck has not been all that bad. Expected is 12.2, found is 11. We are just in the doldrums that happen when variance and difficulty are high. The payouts will be quite nice when they happen. I just checked a little pool I once mined at and they are only hitting about 1 to 1.5 blocks a month, with only about 2PH/s. I am curious at what insanely high transaction amounts will be added to our next set of blocks here at Kano pool. A new A741 is heading my way by the end of the month so I am looking forward to greater earnings soon.

Time to heat the house during the winter months with pure HASHRATE!

Just added an old S7LN I had retired due to summer heat. The summer heat is gone and bitcoin is above 7k. Time to heat up my wife's computer room with hashing power rather resistance electrical power. 2.7 more THashes/sec to the cause!

Don't know if it was already mentioned but bitcoin core wallet had an update on 11/11/2017 from 15.01 to 15.1 .
Just updated my wallet and it seems to be fine.

I’m ready for another block!  Anyone else?  Grin

And Kano, thanks for the early payout!  Wink

Indeed yes!

Just remember with our lower hash rate variance is going to be higher.
The rewards when they happen, are very nice though.

Quite a bit of profit taking going on this Friday. Traditionally Friday is the day the bitcoin price swoops low. Usually it is back up to a high value come Wednesday or Thursday, but there is really no hard and fast rule, just more of a trend that I keep seeing.

As to altcoins and their profitability.
If an altcoin has very low volume of trade or production then its difficulty will tend to drop. As its difficulty drops the ability to mine a whole lot of them starts to rise. The high profitability seen on a lot of altcoins is a bit of a phantom effect. If you start to mine the coin, then you will affect its difficulty if its volume is low to non existent.

There is a similar issue when you go to sell the 10k or so of altcoins you were able to mine over the weekend. Once you start selling them you notice the price offered starts to drop. You are in effect flooding the market. Your 10K of altcoin formerly valued at $30.00 is now only worth about $10.00.

So the thing to look for is the volume of transactions on the altcoin that shows up as having a high profitability.
Low or nonexistent volume means you are unlikely to get the value advertised. High volume coins are much more likely to maintain whatever profitability they are showing.

All in all, it is usually more profitable to mine bitcoin and to mine it on kano's pool.
You might get lucky, but more likely you will end up with a bunch of altcoins that aren't worth the electricity you paid to create them.

Yes think so Smiley
The already 'revealed in the git code' A8 will be out some time ...

The one piece of Canaan equipment I have, an Avalon A741, seems to run quieter and cooler than my other equipment from the great underground empire. ( my days playing Zork are showing) Time will tell. I will definitely be interested in several  Avalon A8s if and when.

Just switched my 3 miners to use nya.kano.is instead of stratum.kano.is after doing a ping and finding I got about 30ms returns from nya while getting 75 ms returns from stratum.

Waiting for the weather to break so I can bring up some of my older miners to increase my hash rate a bit. It has been quite warm in Central Ohio for the last several months. I need to figure out a better method of getting the heat in the  basement up into the house so I will not be paying for heat beyond what I spend on the miners for electricity. I have to segregate the miners from our cats, so I can not just keep the basement door open. I may work up a screen to put in place of the door.

Grrrr,

Tested the great evil empires sales page to see if they had relented and were allowing bitcoin for purchase of their S9 miner.

Nope, they only offer the "other" coin. Not litecoin either.

Which is rude, as they list the amounts accepted in three different crypto coins, bitcoin, the "other" coin, and litecoin.

Then when you get to the payment section from which there is no retreat you only get the "other" coin as a payment option.

So I have yet another order on my orders page that will remain forever unpaid.

I was wondering why their S9s were remaining unsold for so long.

Now I know.

Heh you gonna be calling on a lot of Goddesses if you want them before 200% Smiley
We expect to average 1 in 7.4 blocks to be over 200%

Tsunami was a Goddess, but Mercury wasn't actually a Goddess in Sailor Moon Smiley

Smile, I know, regarding Mercury, but I always thought of her as a Goddess.....

I think I should have called on Washu rather than Tsunami. Washu was the brainy one.
