Terrorists do use bitcoins, but it's a secret! Hush!

That was an interesting comment. Yes they do, but I'm not allowed to discuss it.

Terrorists use USD too...

Nevermind her...

64  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2nd US Senate hearing: Banking Committee, BitPay and more on: November 19, 2013, 07:40:33 PM
BTC price will be >1000 or <500 by the end of the day if yesterday is any indication of how the market reacts to the senate

I do not think the market reacted to the senate yesterday. A coincidence.

I do think the market may be <500 by the end of the day for other reasons. We are in a true correction now I believe.  We won't see ATHs again for several days or weeks potentially.

Quite probably, not even until December!
65  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Very urgent need 0.0015 BTC, thank you in advance!!!!! on: November 19, 2013, 07:38:28 PM
will you pay it back?

Of course not.
66  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will we have the first homicide/suicide caused by Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2013, 07:25:29 PM
with things going crazy, some people are bound to get hurt.

who will be the first person in history to die from bitcoin?

You mean other than the alleged DPR hit?

Yes, other than that.

Who will be the first to get explosive diarrhea?

Had that since April 2011.

looks like it all went well!

Seriously!!!

I honestly can't believe how well that went either, the whole panel managing to keep their objectivity even when presenting issues that usually send the media types into a frenzy.

There's a good chance (imho) that this entire presentation will become historically significant. Or maybe I'm just getting caught up in the moment Wink

Nope this will be history and we will all remember that the Bitcoin Foundation member needed more lividness Cheesy
Mean energy lol

Also MY favorite Pic of the Day

I'm too lazy to scan it, what does it say?
69  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for people to store some of the forum's money on: November 19, 2013, 03:09:21 PM
Fyi, someone tried to *compromise* my treasurer address today. Not sure how they planed to pull it off, considering it's in an offline wallet in a secure location, but they claimed they did. They did find my Social Security number (which is semi-public anyway), compromised an old email of mine I forgot I had, which I deleted, and tried to change my Yahoo and Amazon passwords, which they failed to completely take over (change password confirmation emails went to a different address), but the coins are still safe. Next I'll be worried about my extremeties  Embarrassed

Yikes, that's a little scary.

Even more scary, was tradefortress a treasurer?

More info: I want to stop holding any money for the forum at all. So I need to get treasurers for 3293+ BTC. I prefer candidates who:
- Have been in the community for a long time. (This is difficult/expensive to replace.)
- Run a profitable service, especially one that requires a lot of trust.
- Have previously been entrusted with more money than what they'll hold for the forum.

It may be somewhat helpful for you to give me your personal info. If you do, we could perhaps do a legal contract in addition to the standard non-legal contract. However, I prefer to rely mainly on incentives and reputation. A completely anonymous treasurer would be OK in some cases. Dread Pirate Roberts would be perfect. Smiley

Between 0 and 1% yearly.

Your signature doesn't work for me.

Assuming you were completely anonymous (though you may not be), what would you have to lose by stealing the forum's money? I've seen you around a lot, and you're a long-term member, but you don't seem to be operating any high-trust, profitable services.

I run CoinLenders which currently has 3000 BTC less than what BTC it had during it's peak. BTCINVEST's performance speaks for itself.

Full reserve would be 0.5% yearly.

yikes

The Asian lady behind Murck is pretty hot.

I'd bang her.

72  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Apple the new IBM of our time? on: November 15, 2013, 10:01:27 PM
Switch my iPhone for a crappy android phone, just to use a Coinbase app?  Uh...no.  Just no.   Roll Eyes

actually this is a perfect example of why Apple's model is not worth it.

they cripple the features you have access to, give you shiny pointless bells and whistles instead, and then charge you up the wazoo.  The group of people understand what theyre missing out on are sufficiently small, while the group of people willing to pay for shiny graphics with gradients, etc. are very large.  Apple exploits the ignorance of the general public.

it was everything that Apple was against in the early days.  Oh my how times have changed.  Still remember my beloved apple II+.  It had a whopping 4 colors in the graphics card.

Apple, why have you forsaken me?

The Woz is a pretty interesting guy. He has like a cult following.
73  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Erupter USB - ROI still possible on: November 15, 2013, 07:26:44 PM
Anybody that say ROI is possible must have either free electricity or forget about them...

If you bothered to read this thread, you would see that you are completely wrong.

And regardless of being wrong or not, it's still better when looking at a BE, just to buy the coins instead.
74  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: DO NOT get fooled by ice-dice on: November 15, 2013, 06:52:09 PM
I'm sorry that you were "misled" by assuming you would get something for nothing.

Isn't that the entire basis of what you are promising people when they come to your site? You just want them to bring money.
75  Economy / Services / Re: WTF Escrow Service - Now available - 1% fee. on: November 15, 2013, 05:12:08 PM
Why should be use you when others are already offering similar services?

Why should you use others when I'm already offering a similar service?

If you trust others, use them. When people like JohnK go missing for a month and escrows get held up, sometimes people will need other options.
76  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Coin Validation misunderstands fungibility and could destroy bitcoin on: November 15, 2013, 03:47:13 PM
I think Satoshi's arguments should be seriously entertained. Adam has spent many years, long before Bitcoin, developing the proof of work idea and continues today to stand for the principles of the bitcoin white paper. Of course, Bitcoin is going to change. The original implementation has developed considerably. Keep up the good fight Adam.
77  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [LEAKED] Private Bitcoin Foundation Discussions On Blacklisting, more (ZIP dump) on: November 15, 2013, 03:14:07 PM
In my view, this "redlist" process has already gained enough steam that it will be implemented in one form or another.

If Satoshi were still in this 3d reality I'm sure he would be opposed to this ridiculous perverting of his ideal and supportive of altcoins that are true to the principles of freedom and independence.

Bitcoin is now the bloated IBM of the 1970's and destined to become a secondary player to these emerging altcoins stars.

It's not like you don't have your alt coin spammed in your signature. The only thing you could have done to make your post a little more retarded was to actually link your alt coin in your post, and not just your signature. Your post wreaks of ulterior motive. Try posting such argument under an account that doesn't have such a heavy agenda.
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WARNING: BTC-e now bans users for mentioning mcxNOW or realsolid [UPDATE] on: November 15, 2013, 03:02:55 PM

Damn that makes me hungry.
79  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [1200 TH] BTC Guild - Pays TxFees+Orphan, Stratum, MergedMining, Private Servers on: November 14, 2013, 06:22:04 PM
This weekend Manual Payouts will be extended to amounts smaller than 0.01.  However, any withdrawal under 0.01 will have to pay the 0.0005 transaction fee.  This will only be available for *manual* withdrawals.  Automatic payouts will remain at 0.01 intervals.

I'm not a fan of trying to increase the frequency of micropayments, but at today's rates 0.01 is ~$4, and I can see a user for being able to withdraw $1-3 (at the cost of a few pennies).

What if you grouped small 0.01 payments into mimo transaction, and put it in fee free to a btcguild block?
80  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: *FREE BTC* -PrimeDice.com 0.00003 Per Minute Faucet on PD on: November 14, 2013, 06:13:28 PM
Not fair primedice, its giving 1k now  Undecided  Cry
Please check drop in traffic after this update, if it happens please revert this.

Only 500 now. I think the only number they are worried about going down, is the profits. They'll check that, not traffic, and see if this needs changed.
