Man buys equipment for 4000-5000 euros, and has no idea about IT.
The butcher in the world of IT.  Roll Eyes
4000 or 5000 euros for only 4500 khs???
I just have my 2 watercooled sapphire 7970 in my personal rig and 12 5830 in 3 mining rigs.
I know a lot about Overclocking, (you can check the guy with 800khs per GPU, yes, i'm this guy) i started with mining about 3 or 4 mounths.
sorry sir u.u
64  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Help] Solo mining with my 4 rigs. on: May 23, 2013, 12:16:16 PM
Do it this way, you want your most reliable rig to host the wallet so say if you are going to mine feathercoin just as an example I do mine this way.
I hope your on windows or I am probably wasting my time but here goes.

Main rig with the wallet mining feather is pointed at 127.0.0.1:9337
I start feathercoin-qt.exe with the -server command by putting a .bat file in the same folder as the qt.exe and then the text inside that .bat file is "feathercoin-qt.exe -server" without the quotes.

Now on the rig with the wallet you will want to go to C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\Feathercoin and create feathercoin.conf. Inside feathercoin.conf looks like this for me.
Code:
rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
server=1
daemon=1
port=9336
rpcport=9337
rpcallowip=53.38.15.*
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

Where mine says 53.38.15 most peoples are 192.168 etc those are just important numbers to me for one reason or another.
Last thing you gotta do is give your main rig a static ip with your router (meaning it does not change), start your feathercoin wallet and let it download the whole block chain until it is in sync and then you can point your miner at it. Then go to your other 3 miners and point them at 53.38.15.Whatever static number you decide, port 9337 with a username and password that matches your feathercoin.conf and you have your own little network of miners going.

I'm sorry I am not better at tutorials but I hope this will help you get where you need to be, if you need help giving your main rig a static ip, let me know and I will tell you how. Good luck.

Thanks man for all the help, great guide, yerterday i put all my GPUs runing into the same wallet so now i need a very new currency to test it.
The question now is: the newtwork take it like 4500 khs or 1400 and 1200 and 1000 and 900?
66  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [Help] Solo mining with my 4 rigs. on: May 22, 2013, 07:25:35 PM
Hi every one, i'm starting to mine some news altcoins, i have 4 rigs, they hash like 4.5MHS (scrypt) togheter.
So my problem is that i want to put it all togheter in solo mining mode, you will say me "use p2p pool" but i like to make my own "pool" with the coin's wallet.
Can anyone help me?

Hi, i'm mining DGC in solo mode, i have 2 7970 so 1500khs.
I have 4 rigs of GPUs, so, i need to put it all togheter in the same solo mode, how can i do it?

Point your other rigs to the IP address of the PC running the digitalcoin-qt client.

cgminer --scrypt -o http://192.168.1.?:xxxx

-tb-

Ok, so i need to put the ip address of my rigs in the CG miner config after the DGC server Ip address.
So, if i do it, will i get just a high hash rate or separated hasrates?

ok but then the wallet started to confirm like 10300 CNC and then i lose that...
70  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CHNCoin hyper hashrate and block founding. on: May 05, 2013, 04:40:45 PM
Hi i just mined in solo mode by following this instructions.
I have to show you guys something so weird, i just found 383 Blocks with my 2000khs rig.

After a few minutes, the CNC wallet crash and star loading blocks again. it seems i lose all the coins and the registrers of transactions.
I almost cry when i see all those coins and blocks.
I so sad Sad

do u think that this was the difficulty problem? look at the hour...

73  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7970 800 khs on water cooling system ! on: April 30, 2013, 10:29:06 PM
Ok i don't make the water cooling system just for mining, i have 5830 cards rig for that, and my personal rig with Water cooling, i made it before know abut Bitcoin and litecoin.
I like so much the hardware and overclokcking, so when i don't play games on my pc, use it for mining. Cool
Just showing a graet performance for the nice hardware fans.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 7970 800 khs on water cooling system ! on: April 30, 2013, 03:20:03 AM
Hi guys, just coming to show my results with my sapphire 7970 reference cooled by XSPC R7970 water block.

I do it by reading the scrypt readme file from CGminer 2.11.4.
I show this to help the people who has watercooled system, to achieve more performance.
This is my system
I made a lot of changes, already i'm using just 2 7970 reference and using 7970 dual x with air cooling standard.
Sorry for the bad english. thanks for read.

75  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7970 litecoin hashrate problem. on: April 17, 2013, 11:38:12 PM
This works very well for me, stable around 75C@2100RPM on all adapters (ASUS Radeon HD 7970 3GB GDDR5 - DirectCU II TOP)

The card hash result differ from the cards i have in windows vs linux. Linux seems be a little better on this.

Quote
cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://pool -u user -p pass --worksize 256 -g 2 -I 13 --lookup-gap 2 --gpu-engine 1065 --gpu-memclock 1500 --shaders 2048

You aren't using thread concurrency, what is your hash rate?
Why you use that engine/memmory config and how you find it?
76  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 7970 litecoin hashrate problem. on: April 17, 2013, 11:27:24 PM
Hi every one! i'm new in the forum, i read a LOT of info about how to config a 7970 to achieve the +700khs in litecoin mining.
I have 3 sapphire 7970 in CF, one reference PCB and two Dual X dual DVI.
After searching so much info about it, i seems like is so hard to push this card to the limit, some people can get 720khs with the sapphire Dual x cards.
I see that i need to use -g 2 and find the exact relation with GPU engine and memmclock to rise the hash, but still i can't get more of 650 khs.
I have a watercooled system for the cards and i'm runing it with a FX 8350 in 5ghz.
I also read the CGminer Scrypt Read me and this was what i done:
 i can't use Intensity more or less than 13, if i use >13 my hashes go down, if i use <13 same.
Thread concurrency only make me need more GPU engine to get the same hash.
So, can anyone help me with this?
I think so many paople has the exact same problem.
Thanks for all and sorry for bad english.

I wouldn't mine BTC in the case of only having access to a video card / cpu for mining. If you really want to mine, though, there are other currencies such as Litecoin (LTC) that offer more fulfilling mining opportunities for the average person.

This is what I don't understand. What do you mean by "fulfilling"? Shouldn't it be a matter of net profit? How much you make in your pocket at the end of the month, quarter, year?
Please, enlighten me, how much money will I be making per quarter in Litecoin vs Bitcoin?

Since everybody's mileage may vary, I would suggest using a profitability calculator. There are plenty of open ones available here on the forum, as well as ones like the one on bitcoinx. There are also calculators that compare different crypto currencies, etc.

yes, for example here
http://allchains.info/calc.html

I dont mine because while with my 1 GPU i could be profitable about 1 dollar per day, it is not worth the time to monitor it or potential failure of some component...

Since Zealot seems to be concerned with profit, here's a personal example in favor of mining LTC over BTC right now using the calculator quoted above assuming no cost for electricity and no fees:

GTX 570
BTC:
Hashrate: ~140 MH/s
Coin Per Day: .008 BTC
Profit @ Current Price per day: $0.726

LTC:
Hashrate: 220 kH/s (0.220 MH/s)
Coin Per Day: .613012 LTC
Profit @ Current Price per day: $1.554

As you can see, mining LTC with a GPU is more profitable than BTC (right now at current market prices)

Days behind when LTC was like 4.5 USD you buy a GPU and pay it by mining for one week u.u

It's sad, you can buy perfect mining hardware for a few dolars but you pay a lot of money for use it.
I'm form Argentina and i mine bitcoins and litecoins 24 hours for day with my 3 watercooled 7970s and a 6870 card and just pay like 20 dolar ever month...  Cry
Just sad...

What do you pay 20 dollars for? Or do you mean you get paid 20 dollars every month?
I pay 20 dolars for electricity every month. that's all...
