My post on reddit was labeled off topic.

I think it is what the new reddit trolls need to see right now.

Oh come on Elwar. You didn’t really think the recensorit gestapo would let that fly by did you? You’re lucky you’re not in a concentration camp waiting for the oven.
68  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DEAR SATOSHI, did you WANT an UNSTABLE coin, or why the harsh 4-YEAR HALVINGS? on: November 26, 2018, 05:56:14 AM
Dear Satoshi, did you want an unstable coin, or why the harsh 4-year halvings?

Bitcoin's 4-year coinbase halving schedule arguably hurts stability - an important feature of good money.

The halving of the inflation rate drives prices up strongly, causing a fomo wave, but when the hash rate catches up, prices fall back down in a destructive crash.

Why not use a 0.0000033% per-block reduction of the block-reward (to achieve the same halving in 4 years, but smoothly)?

This should support a smoother price increase curve, and therefore also help grow new userbase, now unsure when to enter the market and when to hold, and prevent the industry-wide destructive crashing waves of huge price falls.

You don’t have long to worry OP. With the next reward drop (and certainly with the one after) the mining reward will be inconsequential. Mining, at that point, will be almost entirely supported by transaction fees.

The days of the individuals mining and fighting with each other over the reward will be long gone. The new face of mining will be large bitcoin businesses that need to keep bitcoin alive and transactions happening smoothly. Eventually, even large mining farms will fail or be forced to drive up transaction fees to maintain a profit above equipment costs. The much anticipated reward drop will pass every four years without anyone noticing.

71  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will you cash out your bitcoins for Black Friday? on: November 25, 2018, 04:37:30 PM

I don't see why a male with common sense would get married, makes absolutely zero sense.

Only guys I know that get married are true betas that worship women.

Mainly because it gives me someone to shoot my cum in to that I don’t have to pretend to like.

There are cheaper ways of doing this.

True, but not as convenient.
Only if it has to be an actual human. Which may be the case for you and fair enough if so. But as a blanket statement it's the most needlessly convoluted way of going about it.

It helps if there’s another human present. Although, I did have a golden lab that I was awfully fond of but I was afraid she wouldn’t respect me in the morning.
Or, you know, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3-Jqt6yb7A

A little too impersonal for me. Besides I don’t think it has a “rim job” button.  Wink

If it drops to $2k I’m going to sell everything I own to buy btc.

Well, with btc at 2K Van Ecks ETF would be only $50K/share.
also, i think at bakkt the minimal purchase is 10 btc equivalent, so $20K.

Not liquid enough for me and requires a level of trust. A nice cold wallet stuffed with coin will do the trick.

I hear you, but there is a question of using IRA funds.
I can use some currently unneeded IRA funds (maybe in 5%-10% area) to buy into ETF and/or Bakkt (that would be settled daily into physical btc).
I don't want to buy any more stocks or bonds, lol.

It sounds like you have tax concerns. That would be a good reason to do it. I’ve just been around here so fucking long that I have absolutely no trust in any one that runs any business even remotely connected with bitcoin. Too much water under the bridge dude.

This is my plan actually, well, with wife's permission.

We'll empty our bank accounts again to change it to Btc. Live off with our paychecks like we used to.

Planning to snatch 2-3k btc off manipulators.
A bit too risky of a move to me, Never get the wife in a position to fucking hate and resent you if shit goes sour. Too little to gain for risk and reward.

I now know for a fact that you’re currently married or divorced because you understand the game. No amount of money in the world can make up for living in hell.
79  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Payment processors is too invasive and complex. on: November 25, 2018, 05:17:23 AM
I was one of the original purchasers of cupcakes at a San Francisco bakery that accepts bitcoins. I stopped in there not long ago and they told me almost no one buys with bitcoin anymore. I have to admit, I’m a little pissed at myself for using bitcoins there. At the ATH of btc the cupcakes I bought for a party cost about $37,000.  Cry

Bitcoins are too valuable to waste them on purchases. They are better left as a trading and investment vehicle.

Spent Bitcoins should be replaced, immediately, or later if you expect the price to go down. I definitely understand that average joes aren't going to waste their time doing it, but I expected someone like you to replace that what's spent.

I probably spent thousands of dollars worth of Bitcoin last year on the way up, and I conveniently bought everything back on the way down. I'm not sure how the situation within your jurisdiction is, but I can spend coins without having to pay tax over them, regardless of the transaction value. It's a convenient way to lower my legal net worth without actually breaking any laws.

Oh, I agree with you but at that time I was sitting on 2000 btc and didn’t see the point.
