61  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] laptop UK windows system. on: August 17, 2020, 10:33:27 AM
hiya all, a friend wants a better laptop so I said I would help her, she has a toshiba satallite pro L850 1p7, so its an old system now.

so looking for similar screen size, better system all around really, dont want dual core, would like 4 core or better, not worried about memory or HDD as I will SSD it and max memory myself anyway, would like a genuine win10 COA on it, (not blocked).

BTC waiting, price range is relative to the system offered, there are systems better than this for 100 quid, but would like something more than just slightly better, so say a couple of hundred, but open to seeing what you have and what you want for it, escrow a must (MJ) unless you want to send me first.

I am in UK so would rather something close, but happy to deal around the world if you package up correctly.

thanks for looking.

EDIT - ok well I got no response so I am having to look offsite, if anyone is willing to buy one and re-ship for a cut let me know(newegg take BTC?) , only in the next day or two tho, if you see this a week later, consider it too late, i will re-open if I have no luck.

thanks those that looked anyway.

... I have a little team my side but no one too technical, So testing and stressing the site wont be a problem.

Just because of that, you can test but who will fix bugs if you find it (and it certainly will be). plus, you will most likely not find all bugs after a few days of tests.
Think about my suggestion, hire someone in a long-term contract to build your platform from scratch, and to stay with it to upgrade and fixing possible bugs. it could be more cost-effective than to hire an agency to finish this job in two weeks. by the end, you may be able to monetize your service, and you will have the first worker with a full-time job.

awesome, thanks for the info, and I do agree with you, time was not an issue here, I was not trying to set up in a short time.

thanks all for the PM's too, I have enough info for now and I have a worker lined up, so this thread and forum has been great.

consider closed for now, I will reopen if I need more.

sounds interesting right? can someone explain to me why everyone wants 5k-14k for writing a point script? everyone being places like freelancer and other reputable business in my area, it was not a sarcastic question, I genuinely dont understand it, is this valid and just? please educate me.

probably because it is such an assessment as much skill and time as needed to write an application which you want. Auction service is not just a script, there is a lot of stuff there, probably it is not a job for only one person.
in the end, if simple you would be able to finish with WP and auction plugin by now for just $50, but even the implementation of a ready-made solution costs.
if you are already looking for someone to hire for it, my recommendation is to find someone for a longer period because is impossible to make such an app in a just a month or two. There you need to have a test period and implementation of new features, also you must have regular maintenance, so you need to have someone with technical skills in your team.

thanks for writing, after what you said and further thought I do understand a pro website designer will cost for quality, as most basic one page ecommerce can cost 1k, but doing it for free wont look and feel the same, I understand that, I also have further thought that the people charging alot are NOT using basic platforms and creating it from the ground up, This would justify such a cost, But not what I am after, I only want to corner my little part of the world, As a result of this thread I hope to be chatting to someone who can do a basic platform with the mods I require for less and hopefully have a ongoing working relationship, I have a little team my side but no one too technical, So testing and stressing the site wont be a problem.

hiya all, thanks for looking, I have a problem creating a website idea and not getting a "clear" response, please read this in full as I will try and explain.

I want an auction website like onbuy.com/ebay sounds simple yes! well i am no tech person but even I can download wordpress or PHP and pay $50 for auction script, and do the whole thing in a few hours, (not including graphics and write-ups) but I want to implement a points based system where people pre purchase points and spend them in creating listings and auctions in a point per price range, so there are no ending/final valuation fees.

sounds interesting right? can someone explain to me why everyone wants 5k-14k for writing a point script? everyone being places like freelancer and other reputable business in my area, it was not a sarcastic question, I genuinely dont understand it, is this valid and just? please educate me.

so basically, this is what I want, if you have some education and some rep, or willing to have funds held in escrow and you can do a point based script cheeper for BTC let me know, either just the point thing or the whole shabang.

I have not yet installed a platform as I did not know what platform to use, and I know installing one and getting it just the way I want it, the whole web will say" would have been alot easier on a different platform" lol

I feal I have heard all the fishing phrases, before contacting me, dont just say, "hay boss, I will do it, here is my discord", talk to me and let me know you have genuinely thought about what I need, even if its advice on best platform to use for what I want.

thanks for reading, interested in responses if any.

66  Economy / Services / looking for website T&C's legal write up. UPDATED READ OP on: July 05, 2020, 02:25:39 PM
hiya all, dont know if this is the place for such a thing but I will give it a shot, I know there are plenty of royalty free templates anyone can use for different sites, I need to find someone who can tailor one a little more directed to my site and use, site is not up yet so no rush, I know there are better places to ask for this, but I want to pay in BTC so here I am lol.

some basic e-commerce legal knowledge should be enough, its more than I have anyway.

UPDATED - well the guy I hired has gone awol and I am now panicking,

I need auction e-commerce T&C and privacy policy, and I need it in a WEEK! rather than lots of comms, I will give you a user account so you can see how the site operates.

please message me ONLY if you can do this quickly and say your price, I am not going to guess what you charge.

BTC waiting! happy to escrow (MJ or SFR10) if you need.

thanks for looking

74  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: I will be making some s9 space heaters. on: May 18, 2020, 09:01:07 AM
if you consider posting to uk please, I am interested in 2 low power (400w) low noise units.

I have 3 built I have enough fans on hand to do 6.

these can be set from 4th to 6th

and do about 340 watts at 4th = 85 watts a th

to about 520 watts at 6th = 86 watts a th.

I will have the six built by Monday.

I would ship to you ,but shipping is high, maybe 110 usd.  2 units would be about 140 plus 110 = 250 usd.

You will need your own psu's as shipping makes it not practical.

Once I have the six all setup I will demo them on you tube.

yeah i am happy with that, pm me when ready to deal.

are they switchable user end or you set them first before shipping? I would only use them on 4th setting.

Are you worried about efficiency and making a profit? If not you could get an S9 and remove one or two boards, that would lower the power consumption (it would run at roughly one third of the total) and earn you something. You might also want to consider the noise if its in the open office environment. I've not experienced an S9 running on one board so have no idfea how it behaves. I used to have an S7-LN (Low noise varient) which is woefully inefficient now but, if you aren't worried about profits too much and using it as a lottery machine, then I can personally vouch for its volume, I had one under my desk at home and could hardly hear it.

yeah, good call, I did think of this a while ago but found out that some versions of s9's dont run without all boards present and exactly the same board revision number, I know this having used a number of units myself and swapping boards around, but cant see any thing definitive on any website, at first I thought it was a batch of bad unit I had, but new ones act the same aswell, have not seen anyone else complain about it so I am at a loss as to whats happening, I am currently chatting a a few people with units I am hoping to nab, I am not worried about efficiency, or noise as I mainly use remote connection to work setup so I dont actually have to be there 90% of time, I heard of the s7-LN but for some reason they sell for as much as a S9 here in UK ^^ so I would rather "one board" a S9 if I can get away with it.

thanks for your response, I should be done if one of the people I am talking to pulls through for me.
