Impressive.  Your using windows I assume?

Ubuntu 10.10 x64, SDK 2.1, Phoenix miner
63  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: 5870 running at 385 mHash/sec! on: April 25, 2011, 06:04:14 PM
I just switched over to the Phoenix miner 1.1 as well, and now run at 421-423 mHash/sec on all of my 5870s.  Clock settings are 975/300, using the 0.950 voltage.  They're running cooler, sucking less power, and running significantly faster with Phoenix!

1010/300 (stock voltage) here with Phoenix and getting 437MH/s on my 5870.  Still running a tiny bit hot at 77C but that is my crappy case, most likely.

That is different than what I mentioned above but apparently works for some.  For me, that program just segfaults.

Not using KDE myself either.  It's dependencies are just QT and QT Networking, iirc.

Doesn't let me choose lower than 1000 mem clock in linux

I use this tool:

Updating with new results...

*985/900*
poclbm with f=1, ws=128: 385MH/s
phoenix 1.0 with agg=12: 377MH/s
phoenix 1.01 with agg=13, ws=128: 380MH/s

*985/300*
poclbm with f=1, ws=128: 327MH/s
phoenix 1.01 with agg=13 ws=128: 386MH/s

*1010/300*
phoenix 1.01 with agg=13, ws=128, BFI_INT: 437MH/s (!!!)

ubuntu 10.10, 5870, 2.1 sdk, vectors

Since I was able to bring down temps by going to 300MHz memory clock, I was able to bump up the GPU clock to 1010MHz and with BFI_INT I am getting 437MH/s.  It's run for about 7-8 hours so far without issues.
68  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: [MINER] Phoenix - New efficient, fast, modular miner **BFI_INT support!** on: April 25, 2011, 09:25:06 AM
Holy crap.  Initial results are good...  But, well, I'll wait until tomorrow to tell you how effective BFI_INT (and some more OCing) are, as long as they are stable.

Feature request: it'd be nice if we had a report of the # of HW failures in the status bar as well.  Now that I'm able to push the memory speeds down I'm trying to push the GPU speeds up further and it'd be nice to see those over time.

I was able to finally drop my memory to 300MHz without negatively impacting MH/s.

Nice work!

How should I use this with deepbit.net pool, where usernames are emails? The @ symbol in email conflicts with @ separator between user/password and hostname.

If you're in Linux just escape the @ in the username:

Code:
http://myself\@here.net:password@hostname.net

I don't use Windows so I have no clue there.

Okay, I tested the H == 0 mod on linux ubuntblow 10.10, HD5970 and it is 1-2% SLOWER. (Wonder why it is faster on Win?)

... poclbm fork for Win users ... ?

I have a Ubuntu 10.10 box and it gets about 1.1Mh/s faster with this mod.

Ubuntu 10.10, 5870, and this mod consistently knocks me down 5MH/s.
74  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Average speed of GPU generating bitcoins. on: April 20, 2011, 06:59:06 AM
Not sure if it is reference or not, but it has two standard fans.  No voltage increase.

Nice O/C on stock voltage. Crazy temps!  Smiley

At 950 (stock voltage) my fans are going 60% and I'm getting 60 deg core temps. This is with multiple cards mounted directly beside each other.

Wow, 60% fans and 60C?  My case must REALLY suck.  But, I'm down to 82C now with some mods.

Hey guys,

I've been trying to get my head around this all afternoon lol I've seen videos etc of people mining and most are saying they are generating around 150BTC a week. I know there are lots of external factors that affect this but on average how many kh's can lets say one Radeon 5870 achieve ?

Overclocked, I get 385kh/s from my 5870.

Overclocked to what speed? 950? Is your 5870 reference design based (ie with the turbine fan) and what temps are you getting with your card overclocked?

I would guess closer to 1k core. I would also guess reference design to allow for voltage increase.

980MHz, fans at 100%.  89C core temps.  Higher temps than I'd like but I have a crappy case...  It's stable as a rock though and never throttles.  I'm going to be investigating case mods to try and get the temps down.

Edit: added another case fan and now are running 86C.

Another edit: backed out my changes to poclbm.  dropped 2MH/s but 2C as well.

Nice service!  I have a request though.  It'd be nice if you offered https access.
