61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 15, 2024, 11:51:18 PM
Addiction in gambling and having no control over your emotions can really make you do crazy things as what the OP has said.

Coming from professionals, to simple folks and plebs, there can be situations that we can expect that an addicted gambler will spend the money that they are not theirs.

Being responsible comes with a reputation that you bring to the people depending on the work or trade that you do. If you can't control yourself and you are touching people's money, you'll be ending up as a scammer. No problem if you lose entirely your money because it's yours and you are the one that has spent it but if it's other's money then it's a different story.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 15, 2024, 10:48:33 PM
So, from your own understanding, what do you think makes people chase loses aside greed which I believe many of us are already familier with?.
It's hard to accept losses and with that, we're forced to recover the money that we've lost and it's not all about greed but that's also a big contributor to it.

Another reason is the money that has been lost by a gambler could have been not his money at all. With that, there's a need to recover it or else he'll be the one to refund it.

But he won't lose money at all if they don't spend the money that they are not theirs. Sounds funny but this is happening in real life.
63  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in Bitcoin because others are investing in Bitcoin on: May 15, 2024, 09:51:39 PM
That is true. I remember my first investment in BTC many years back, a friend actually persuaded me to invest in it. He literally did everything as I had zero idea what BTC was, but I didn't want to make him feel bad, so I obliged. I can tell you that today that investment was a complete waste. I couldn't retrieve my investment because what I investment is way below their minimum withdrawal. Meaning I can't withdraw it.
If I had taken time to understand their terms, probably that wouldn't have happened, but it did happened because I lacked the right information.
What does it mean that your "investment is way below the minimum withdrawal"? You invest on a platform and not with BTC I guess.

But going on with the details about investing just because others told you to do so. It's a wrong idea of investing, you invest because you have learned about it and carefully did your research before you've made decisions to invest.

Many still does it the wrong way and thinking of it as if they're going to gain even if they go to the shortcut way of investing in BTC or with any other cryptocurrencies.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: May 15, 2024, 08:52:34 PM
That's true because there's a negative point of view of the society when it's come to gambling. They'd judge you quickly and you shouldn't gamble then but still, you do it and chose to hide.

If there is no judgemental society and culture, many will simply be showy and won't be scared to say that they're gamblers.
Gambling and gamblers comes with a high stigma in the society. All gamblers are seen to be addict even without prior knowledge of who this individual is, what the individual is capable of, their finances or how often they gamble. Once they find you gambling, your an addict and an irresponsible individual. No one wants to be tagged or associated with such an image and so they turn to hiding.
This is a position I don’t find myself often although, I keep my gambling life private, away from family but, it doesn’t consider what the society feels in it, just my family as, I’ll hate for them to have the wrong idea of me.
That's the truth.

If you tell anyone that you're a gambler, they'd think you as a an addicted gambler without having any second thought. It is embedded to the thoughts of many that every gambler is an addicted gambler even not all of us are addicted.

We gamble but we're not addicted. That's the stigma as you've said that are in our society and there is no boundaries on this because in every country, it seems that it's always been like that and the case.
65  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you been profiting from memecoins? on: May 15, 2024, 07:58:31 PM
Since the emergence of Memecoins besides Doge, I was getting some profit decently before lots and lots of the same coins popped up almost every day. now that memecoins are the trend, it's not possible anymore with the new memecoins rather I just stuck with the old ones and remained with my best strategies when to buy at the right time. You just need to be vigilant regarding the timing because if you happen to invest at the wrong time, then you won't get any profit rather you will wait for a longer period for the price to increase than if you happened to invest in the right one.
I agree that it's hard to get into them nowadays. They're almost everywhere but you have no idea on who's going to be next that shall pump.

Just as you, I'd rather go with the old and common ones than to compete with these meme coins as there is a lot of them and I can't figure out which is going to pump next.

If someone from here is able to profit from them from time to time, you're good and keep it up.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: May 14, 2024, 11:07:28 PM
Sometimes i fell like people hide to gamble is because they don’t want the opinion of others, they really want to do it on their own, sometimes people are very shy and they don’t know how to approach people on advice and discuss some predictions with them, a lot of people act the same way meanwhile some people hide just because of   What people may say and they didn’t even want anybody to know that they are gambling
That's true because there's a negative point of view of the society when it's come to gambling. They'd judge you quickly and you shouldn't gamble then but still, you do it and chose to hide.

If there is no judgemental society and culture, many will simply be showy and won't be scared to say that they're gamblers.

But because of that mentality from different people that if you're a gambler, you're a wasted life and you don't even have a good life as gambling destroyed it.

That is what they think.
67  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto's Hidden Benefits. on: May 14, 2024, 04:19:32 PM
I’ve been thinking about how cryptocurrency exchanges often give extra benefits when you put in a lot of money. This is different from traditional banks, where you usually don't get much in return. Crypto platforms offer rewards for things like depositing and holding onto your coins.
Not at all, when you deposit and won't enroll it to their staking pools or launchpools or pads, then that deposit of yours will be good as you're holding it without any return.

It makes me wonder why some people are still hesitant to try cryptocurrencies. The fact that there are so many incentives available, like rewards for depositing and other perks, shows that crypto can be a good option. It makes me think about why some people are skeptical and how the world of finance and technology is changing.what are your thoughts on this please do share?
It's because there are people that are not for it. While we talk that crypto is for everybody, it only means that it's free for everyone to get in but not everyone is going to invest on it.

All of us have differences if it's about investing. We're risk takers but there are the conservative ones that don't believe in the changes and trend of the world.
68  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price predictions gone silence since the DIP. on: May 14, 2024, 12:43:03 PM
Nothing has changed. When the market dips, everyone is disappointed but not the new comers. That's how the mood changes quickly when we're just looking at the reds in the market.

But I have never seen that the predicitons where gone when everything has been up and nice with people telling their high predictions.

As for this year's halving, the expectations of many were not met as things turned out to go the opposite way. The expectations and excitement of the ETFs' approval seem to have overshadowed that of the halving, leaving us with a range of prices that we keep seeing, which is not aligned with the history of halving.
Don't be so hasty.

Why you guys want to see your predictions or expectations reached when we're not yet even a month passed when the halving's done?
69  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 14, 2024, 10:26:31 AM
The Denver Nuggets was like a sleeping giant that is now awake. They're playing better when they're given a very challenging situation. I guess it also have to do with the championship experience they have.
That 0-2 that they've taken was seriously have disappointed a lot of us. But, it seems that they've been awake right now.

Now that the series is tied, the Timberwolves probably are itching with their thoughts and having what ifs right now. What if this is going to be a straight win for the Nuggets until it becomes 4-2?

Minnesota has the ability to win but this series is more than just skills.
They honestly have been the strongest AFAIK but, true that experience is still different as Nuggets have been there and won't make it easy for them to pass.
70  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ Sentenced, Your Bitcoin in their Custody on: May 14, 2024, 08:56:04 AM
I just hope any exchange doesn't just collapsed again like FTX, it happens between 2022-2023 but it looks like something that happen years ago and many people has moved on but creditors are sideline waiting to get their money back,
I am not sure but it becomes a trend as well when we're getting to the bull run. But just as you, I am also hoping that no exchange will collapse this time, a big exchange.

they should be our significant lesson rather than just using exchange to keep coins that may vanish one day because we don't have power over to the private keys.
That's why if we're going to use exchange, just use them as an exchange and don't keep your funds there. We do understand that they don't give private keys.

But for the beginners, they might not be aware of it and that's why they have to be reminded about that.
71  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where are you hyper focus, online casinos or physical casinos on: May 13, 2024, 11:29:48 PM
I don't think there is a topic created about this, so I'm creating one.
There have been a bunch of this the same thread.

Physical casinos do not have clocks or windows on the gaming floor, and they offer free drinks like wine energy drinks, and food so the gamblers will be hyper focused this is why gamblers spend hours without even knowing they have already spent, while online casinos offer free spins, rakeback, and cashback so you can continue to play to level up to enjoy these perks.

So between the two where are you more hyper-focused and how many hours do you spend on one compared to the other?
It takes a while going to the physical casinos and if I'm living there nearly, I'd probably just spend time going there but no.

That's why I won't say that I am hyper focused but I'd say that online casino is what I prefer nowadays. The convenience that it provides to every gambler is timely.

It saves a lot of time instead of going there physically.
72  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer the crypto online gambling or regular fiat casinos gambling? on: May 13, 2024, 09:59:35 PM
I prefer regular fait casinos, for me nothing is different because the crypto sites still equate your deposit limit or coins to fait, so what the need. From my perspective its unnecessary and i don't see any much difference from regular fait.
Exactly. I don't see the same difference on them but the prices of the cryptos that we're gambling. If you're gambling with some meme coins out there, you'd be happy to stay longer because you can gamble with millions of its supplies as long as the casino is supporting that.

For some gamblers, gambling with fiat is better because the value is stagnant and won't fluctuate at all.

Gambling with the regular fait, is satisfying for me and provides exclusive services with privacy
How so? You're required to use banks or anything with your identity that you've been using with money remitting services or the same.
73  Economy / Economics / Re: Digital Bank on: May 13, 2024, 08:53:47 PM
Digital banking has now become quite popular. To get money from the bank, you don’t need to go anywhere, just log into the application using your phone, go through verification and open a virtual account.
To be honest, I like it. I've just realized when I've read something about carbon footprint and it's said that we're helping our environment when do small actions like this and does transactions through digital banks or apps.

You can go everywhere, whenever you want and pay merchants on an instant scanning.

Digital banks operate on the Blockchain, which greatly simplifies the transaction system and makes the network reliable and secure. Interest rates on deposits in such banks are high, but before you take money from such a bank, read the agreement carefully! In case of any problems, do not hesitate to clarify your questions in the online support of this bank.
Not necessarily that all of them are classified to be using blockchain technology. Most of the digital banks are still the traditional banks that have made their own banking apps.

It's totally different from what we used to do with our own wallet making us our own banks.
74  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ton/Telegram Chain is next season on: May 13, 2024, 07:53:17 PM
Notcoin and Ton listing binance.

This week there is more than 30m new users on the ton chain.
Well, not just on Binance that this notcoin is going to get listed. But also many other exchanges will have it as well.

Looks like that this is going to be the official meme coin of the TON network then. I believe that TON have been too silent for years even if there have been news about it.

Well, I'd say that this one has become a success to them if ever they're going to make this platform as a choice of other projects too.
75  Economy / Gambling / Re: TonPoker - Telegram Poker Room on: May 13, 2024, 12:10:08 PM
Overall, my first impressions of this poker bot aren't bad, and the freeroll tournament was quite easy because many registered participants were sitting out. Grin Apparently, many of them forgot the start time of the tournament.
Or they just like to watch you over as you guys played against each other. Anyway, again congrats to everyone and also to tonpoker, seems to be a successful event.
I didn't forget about the tournament, I was supposed to be free but due to some unforeseen circumstances I had to be at work yesterday... when I got home the tournament was already over.

If there were 17 players, of which only 5 were active, I wouldn't call it a successful tournament... some poker tournaments with a much smaller prize draw a lot more people. So we can say that this tournament did not attract much attention and people even though it had a nice prize.

Congrats to the entrants, it looks like everyone got some kind of prize, and I hope this isn't all from TON poker... maybe they should have some regular freeroll game with smaller prizes.
It's still a success for me since it has proven that they're true to their words upon hosting this event and the participants have proven that. Well, you have the point about it that only few participated but IMO, the success of it should be credited to them as the participants have testified that it's done well.

There are still a lot of things to be done but at least that's the first event(?) that they've hosted here.

Hopefully, it will be followed by another one and continuous with some twists with the prizes to gather more attention.
76  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe Bitcoin will surge to new heights after this dip on: May 13, 2024, 10:55:02 AM
I don't see anything new to what has been said by that guy and what you have just brought in here. It's true that we pass on these prices levels that we have right now and then we'd surely proceed to $70k and up.

Everyone is believing that we're going to see these surges in no time because we're passed the halving and that's where we all believe is going based on historical facts and charts.

$100k and more is gonna be hit as a new ATH not this time or year but maybe next year.
77  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 12, 2024, 11:56:25 PM
If they spend $20 from $100 and they end up not wining, it means that 20% of their salary has just been wasted on gambling.
And that's an amount that's quite high whether it's big or small amount but if the percentage is 20%, that's a lot.

Question you should ask is, what if the person actually had financial need that will cost them the rest of the $80, that means they will not even have any money to add to their savings. It is a wrong calculation and let's not forget that gambling is for fun and not a compulsory thing to do. You have to sort out your needs first before you can think of gambling.
It always boils down to the tip about spending what they can afford to lose. But tell that a hundred times, how many do you think will listen?

I don't think that an addicted gambler will listen to you no matter how badly you tell them that they have to spend only a decent amount that they won't be too bothered losing it.
78  Economy / Gambling / Re: TonPoker - Telegram Poker Room on: May 12, 2024, 10:54:14 PM
I've won 1st place and I have received my reward. Thank you!  Smiley
Congratulations mate.

Looks like a success on your end tonpoker and you've got pretty much loved from the participants. We're waiting for what you think about what ahoybruase have said as a feed back to the event that you've got started.

Overall, my first impressions of this poker bot aren't bad, and the freeroll tournament was quite easy because many registered participants were sitting out. Grin Apparently, many of them forgot the start time of the tournament.

79  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to buy privacy coins? on: May 12, 2024, 09:59:36 PM
@OP, everything has been mentioned on how to do it. There's gotta be a harder time this time thanks to the authorities cracking everything down.

However, if you already have some stable coins or major coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum why not try Exch to buy XMR and make sure to hold it on a wallet that supports Tor that makes your wallet untraceable, and anonymous.
If not the best, this is one of the best to be able to purchase XMR from being anonymous.

do it outside a centralized exchange.
There are still centralized exchanges where it is listed but what's sad if someone doesn't want to take that hassle, they'd go there.
80  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Open source code doesn't mean anything as long as it's CBDC on: May 12, 2024, 08:57:50 PM
Let's forget the privacy and centralization for a moment but it's just another stable coin issued by government and in reality it doesn't really any different from the traditional fiat we use with the internet banking so for someone who thinking about investing purposes can't really fall for this.
There's no privacy in the government's stable coin and you're right with it. It's about another money produced by the government so with this. They have the cash and CBDC that they have full control on it.

Are they also going to take over digitally?

But what doesn't makes sense is they've got already the support of many companies making apps for them to be used for the transactions online and credit cards as well for the use of the fiat digitally so, there's no need for this TBH.
