Days Old Cryptocurrency Threatens To Give Bitcoin A Run For Its Value

If cryptocurrency scene has been heating up, then Zcash (ZES) has just added more fuel to the flames. Zcash is the latest altcoin on the market and it is threatening to turn tables on older rivals. Sticking to the trend of new digital currencies coming to market, Zcash is comparing itself with Bitcoin (BTC).
Zcash Electric Coin Company, the developer of Zcash cryptocurrency, says the new digital currency is the solution to the problems Bitcoin and most other altcoins before it have failed to nail. One of those problems is privacy. Zcash claims to offer far greater transaction privacy than Bitcoin and it is hoping to rally on that advantage to bolster its value in the increasingly crowding cryptocurrency market.

Coinsource installs first ever bitcoin machine in Memphis and two more in Nashville

Leading bitcoin ATM network in the United States Coinsource has expanded into Tennessee by installing the first-ever bitcoin ATM machine in Memphis, and two more in Nashville.
According to the official release, the first-ever bitcoin ATM in Memphis has been installed at 967 Linden Avenue along one of the main roads of the Downtown district. The Coinsource machines in Nashville have been installed in Z-Marts, one adjacent to the Nashville International Airport, and the other ATM less than a mile north of the city center.
“The demand for bitcoin ATMs has never been higher than it is today. The most rewarding part of our job is to answer the call when requests come in for new locations, so it is exciting to make history in Tennessee. Our reach in the South is growing. So far, we have 60 machines across 8 states, and look forward to gaining a foothold in even more new cities around the country”, Coinsource CEO and Co-Founder Sheffield Clark said.

Here's why Trump's win boosted Bitcoin

As Trump’s electoral victory became clear, global markets plunged into volatility.
Dow Jones stock futures dropped by 3.8% in premarket trading, S&P futures by 3% overnight, and Nasdaq futures by almost 5%. All major European indices dropped by 2%, on average. The price of bitcoin, however, surged around 4% to reach highs of $738.33 overnight. The cryptocurrency saw similar gains in June after the Brexit vote, suggesting that investors are increasingly turning to bitcoin in times of political and economic uncertainty.
There are a number of reasons why bitcoin proves attractive in these circumstances:

It’s an alternative asset. Alternative assets are non-traditional assets — other examples include precious metals and art. They typically do not move in the same direction as the stock market and therefore are popular with investors looking to diversify their portfolios.

Free Republic of Liberland Remains Unoccupied Despite President’s Best Efforts

Bitcoin enthusiasts are familiar with the name Liberland. This unclaimed piece of land between Croatia and Serbia turned into the Free Republic of Liberland. The country’s first President, Vit Jedlicka, finds himself in a bit of a pickle right now. Due to ongoing issues with Croatan Police, president Jedlicka is incapable of setting foot on his would-be republic.
The name Liberland gained mainstream media attention a few months ago. Not only is this free republic rather unique, but the region is also only 2.5 square miles large. But the most important aspect is how Bitcoin is the national currency of this nation, rather than traditional currencies. A bold plan was set in motion by Vit Jedlicka and his team, but there are several roadblocks along the way.

CME Group Seeks to Track the Bitcoin Price

The world’s largest futures exchange CME Group has launched two indexes for tracking bitcoin’s price, setting the digital currency on a course of well-deserved (and mainstream) publicity.
Chief investment officer at Global Advisors Daniel Masters explained:
“There is tremendous, pent-up demand in the U.S. for bitcoin exposure that doesn’t require an investor to select one of the current bitcoin exchanges in order to invest.”
CME has been one of the year’s leading innovators in the field of cryptocurrency. When banks and finance institutions are studying the blockchain and creating their own currencies and related items in the sparks of a growing digital age, CME Group is no exception. The company made headlines last May when it joined hands with London-based bitcoin services firm Crypto Facilities Limited to develop “new cryptocurrency-based products.”

One in Four Bitcoin Nodes Are Now Upgraded for SegWit

Bitcoin network data shows that 25% of nodes worldwide are now running code for Segregated Witness.
Proposed late last year as a means to scale the bitcoin network, the upgrade was released last month by the volunteer development community Bitcoin Core in its latest software version. SegWit was put forward in a bid to increase the network’s transaction capacity without increasing the block size limit, drawing both praise and criticism from some quarters of the community amid a contentious debate.
Network data suggests that the software version including SegWit is now the most commonly used among note operators.
Bitnodes reports that just over 25% of bitcoin nodes are running on the latest Core software – 0.13.1 – which includes the code for SegWit. By the data service's count, that's 1,362 nodes out of a total of 5,436 nodes connected to the bitcoin network that are now prepared for the upgrade.

Whatever happened to bitcoin? Adam Draper has the answer

Bitcoin, the virtual currency used by savvy techies and online black market traders, has faded from the public eye in recent months. But investor and cryptocurrency expert Adam Draper says bitcoin still has the potential to play a major role in the financial market — once society figures out exactly what to use it for.
Draper, son of high-profile venture capitalist Tim Draper, founded Boost VC in 2012 to fund startups working with bitcoin and the blockchain — the data structure that generates the digital coins. While it’s unlikely most people will be buying Starbucks with bitcoin in the near future, Draper said, the technology could revolutionize everything from banking to stock transactions to the art industry.
Where else will bitcoin take off? Mars. When humans colonize the Red Planet, they won’t be using cash, he said.
“Almost all of the smartest people I’ve ever met in finance are working to make the blockchain or digital currency happen,” Draper said. “Huge institutions, insurance companies, banks — everyone is trying to figure out what to do with it.”
Draper sat down with this newspaper to share his thoughts on cryptocurrency. This interview has been edited for length and clarify.

Bitcoin Wasn't the Only Digital Currency to See Post-Election Bounce

The surprise US Presidential Election results pushed bitcoin 4% higher this week amid a choppy period for the digital currency markets.
After opening at roughly $709 on 4th November, bitcoin neared $740, placing it within reach of its 2016 high of more than $780. But while this increase was notable, it fell short of some forecasts.
Cryptocurrency fund manager Jacob Eliosoff, for example, noted that he expected bitcoin prices to benefit more starkly from the uncertainty created by the election.
As previously profiled on CoinDesk, many analysts had expected a 'Brexit-like' impact, one in which the digital currency might have risen by as much as $100 on a Trump win. When it became clear that the Brexit referendum would succeed, bitcoin prices surged, rising above $650 on 24th June after falling to $550 the day before.

Russia’s NSD Extends Support to iCoinSoft Exchange Platform

The cryptocurrency ecosystem in Russia has probably grown accustomed to working amidst uncertainties surrounding digital currency regulations. Various government agencies have a different take on Bitcoin and other digital currencies, but the implementation of blockchain technology is being looked upon in a favorable light by all the agencies involved.
Starting with the creation of a consortium of banking and financial institutions for standardization of blockchain-based applications, the industry has reached a new landmark. In a recent update, Russia’s central securities depository — National Settlement Depository (NSD) is looking forward to implementing blockchain technology into its operations. In order to achieve this, NSD has already inked a partnership with iCoinSoft Exchange Platform, a white-labelled cryptocurrency exchange solutions provider.

Election Results Prove Positive for Bitcoin

Regardless of personal feelings, Trump is continuing to defy expectations, repeatedly turning things in the opposite direction. Many were left feeling that a Trump victory would inherently wound the NASDAQ, but several major stocks including those of Ariad Pharmaceuticals, Caterpillar Inc. and the United States Steel Corp jumped as high as seven to 23 percent following the big announcement, closing the U.S. market higher than expected in the previous weeks leading up to the election.
Bitcoin has also benefited. Bitcoin companies ranging from Digital Currency Group to ZebPay claim to have seen massive spikes in trading following the announcement of Trump’s victory, and the election results are slated to push bitcoin’s price even higher.

Dubai Police Arrest Alleged Bitcoin Scammer Who Siphoned $100,000 off Victims

A man accused of stealing bitcoin from three individual victims has been arrested by police in Dubai, in a case that is the first of its kind to be investigated and solved in the region.
The accused, who is not a Gulf national, defrauded three Gulf citizens by purporting to be bitcoin buyer interested in purchasing the cryptocurrency at a price higher than the market value of the cryptocurrency, Dubai police revealed.
As reported by local news outlet 7Days, the alleged conman set up an Instagram page to put up an affluent front while being unemployed in actuality. Striking up a conversation on the internet, the accused then offered to buy bitcoins at a premium from three bitcoin sellers who were citizens of an unnamed Gulf nation.

Bitcoin price surges after Trump's victory

The world is still reeling from the outcome of the US elections, where Donald Trump came out on top against Hillary Clinton to become the 45th President of America.
markets around the world have been affected by the shocking and unexpected news and the notoriously unpredictable digital currency Bitcoin is no exception, with prices close to hitting a 35-month high against the pound amidst investor uncertainty.
Against the dollar, the price of Bitcoin rose by up to 4.6 percent to reach a high of $738 on Wednesday, before settling at the $726 mark. This is approximately a three percent rise from Tuesday's price of $708.
But the same cannot be said for all cryptocurrencies. According to Coinmarketcap, Ethereum and Ripple -- Bitcoin's closest rivals -- experience drops of two percent and one percent respectively in the wake of the election outcome.

I think that HYIP / Ponzi scheme are all scams. Doubling/ Tripling in 100 - 200 hours. If thats true, I will not be waking up everyday so early to go and work and I will just sit and home wait 100-200 hours and get my money doubled or tripled. "There ain't no such thing as a free lunch." Take note of this mate.

got 0.0017btc what business can multiply it for me everday

You cannot just simply double triple or multifold bitcoin so easily everyday. Even for a gambler, they have a problem doing that. Because sometime they will suffer a loss . And the next day if they get a profit same as the loss yesterday, there is no profit exactly unless the bitcoin price flies up by few hundred dollars within 1 day. What i can suggest is work your bitcointalk account up to a rank that can join a signature campaign here and slowly earn daily, weekly or monthly. There is no such thing as being rich overnight.

US Presidential Election 2016: Bitcoin jumps four per cent as Donald Trump wins over Hillary Clinton

The bitcoin price has surged almost four per cent so far this morning, as Hillary Clinton conceded the presidency to her Republican rival Donald Trump.
The price of a single bitcoin has reached $737.07, according to exchange Bitstamp. The currency steadily rose as election officials began counting votes last night.
It has risen from a low of under $710 when polls on the east coast of the US began to close.
"The Trump presidency is giving bitcoin a boost as uncertainty and fear reigns globally," said Charles Hayter, chief executive and founder of CryptoCompare.

Bitcoin companies in India see spike in trading ahead of US polls

Kunal Thakkar, 33, a financial portfolio manager in Mumbai, has been investing in cryptocurrency bitcoin since the last few years, and made his latest investment a week ago with an eye on the presidential elections in the US. Several bitcoin platforms in the country have seen a spike in trading as the US election results are expected to push up the value of the cryptocurrency.
“There is uncertainty over who will win the election and what impact they will have. It is definitely going who will win the election and what impact they will have. It is definitely going to increase the value of bitcoin, with chances that the figure may cross $850,” Thakkar said. The currency is currently valued at a little over $700. “Earlier, I used to invest in gold or commodities, but investing in gold is tedious as we have to physically store it. bitcoin is completely digital and it is also a conduit to invest in other cryptocurrencies,” he said.

Bitcoin May as Well Impart Transparency into Swiss Banks

The increasing popularity of cryptocurrencies has got Bitcoin making inroads into the mainstream financial ecosystem. With more people using Bitcoin as a medium of exchange and store of value, there are concerns of digital currency being used by wealthy individuals for tax evasion, money-laundering, and other illegal activities. Among few circles, Bitcoin has been equated to the Swiss bank accounts, which were once well-known for privacy and anonymity (more like pseudonymity).
Being a decentralized cryptocurrency, Bitcoin enjoys no interference from any third party organizations or governments. This very feature makes it a popular financial instrument to circumvent various regulatory restrictions. However, the privacy and “anonymity” associated with Bitcoin is in no way comparable with that of Swiss bank accounts.
