61  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [12000GH/s] p2pool: Decentralized, DoS-resistant, Hop-Proof pool on: September 27, 2013, 02:45:32 AM
I see higher amount of rejects on p2pool with BFL devices using cgminer compared to other pools. Is that normal? or am I missing some configuration?
Change your difficulty - nearest power of 2 of 30% of your hashrate
(so +8 for a LS, +16 for a Single)

63  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 3.2.1: modular ASIC/FPGA, GBT, Strtm, RPC, Lnx/OpnWrt/PPA/W64, BE Blade on: September 23, 2013, 02:49:12 PM
But it simply wont start with the -S all and without it sees no Block Erupters

Further to this, if I start it with -S /dev/ttyUSB0 -S /dev/ttyUSB1 etc it loads ok (but is always 1 USB short of the actual when doing D - M), just the 'all' that causes it to stop

I'm thinking it's something to do with the BFL kit being in the middle of the USB Hub/Erupter chain - without the hub with eth BFL kit connected the -S all works

Odd problem with build of latest from git ...

Being a few versions behind, thought a bit of upgrading was in order ... built from source as before, same option, seemed to all go through as expected, but failed to start (or started and quit) as no 'screen' for me to switch to.

My startup script is
Code:
screen -dmS BFG /home/bitcoin/bfgminer/bfgminer --config /root/.bfgminer/bfgminer.conf -S all
which was fine with 3.1.3 - Started: [2013-08-16 23:43:51] - [  34 days 20:52:08]

latest version just 'stops' with
Code:
[2013-09-20 20:38:27] clDevicesNum returned error, no GPUs usable

without the -S all it starts and works, but doesnt find any of the USB-BlockErupters (only the BFL Singles)
with the -S all it fails

dmesg finds all the USB's ok

bfgminer -S all -D -d?
finds everything it should - snippet:
Code:
 [2013-09-20 20:40:06] Found ICA43 at /dev/ttyUSB45
 [2013-09-20 20:40:06] ICA43: Init: baud=115200 work_division=1 fpga_count=1

 [2013-09-20 20:40:06] BFL: Attempting to open /dev/ttyUSB19

But it simply wont start with the -S all and without it sees no Block Erupters

Anything else I should be trying to debug the situation ?
65  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [CLOSED] batch #23/24 .105 btc USB + 4 btc NEW Blade miners on: September 17, 2013, 05:31:57 PM
Just to say thanks again to canary - USB-BE's arrived quick, well packed - great service.

My only regret is they're ugly black units and my collection doesn't yet have a single nice blue one Sad

but I am generally interested in 1 Oz, 2 Oz, 5 Oz, and 10 Oz Bars, Rounds, or Coins. I can pay in BTC or LTC, and escrow is fine.
Don't think they take cryptocoins, but my Eagles came from Modern Coin Mart - reasonable margin over spot price and sent out the next day.

upgrade to 0.8.5, the need to reindex was a fault in 0.8.4 of the app.
70  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - The Bitcoin Bank (Cyprus) - LMB Holdings on: September 08, 2013, 05:00:50 AM
We currently do not require a Banking License
You'll be taking deposits off people, you absolutely will need a banking licence unless your retirement plans include 'free room and board in jail' Wink

We are still determining the AML/KYC solution that we shall proceed with.
Will drop you a PM
71  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS [UK] 4 Module Avalon Batch 2 on: September 08, 2013, 02:16:06 AM
if it get's worse over the next few months I'll point it to some other SHA altcoins.
Mine ZET's with it - at least you can exchange those for the electric costs, and it'll keep the room toasty now Summer seems to have ended.
72  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL custom made PSUs burnt in europe on: September 07, 2013, 06:05:21 PM
shipping something that is potentially dangerous?
A disposable plastic spoon is dangerous if you're clueless about how to use it properly.

Voltage switches on universal power-supplies are extremely common - even my aftermarket laptop brick has one 115/230 on it.
73  Economy / Securities / Re: [IPVO] [Multiple Exchanges] Neo & Bee - The Bitcoin Bank (Cyprus) - LMB Holdings on: September 07, 2013, 05:51:37 PM
Announcing the upcoming public offering for LMB Holdings, which will take place in a coordinated release across multiple bitcoin securities exchanges. LMB Holdings seeks to raise capital to fund two complimentary new ventures: Neo and the Bee Payment Network.
Why have you registered the company in the UK when it's target market is Cyprus ?

What are the real reasons behind the 'virtual entity' nonsense when you could be selling the real shares in the real legal entity ?

Bee looks like it will never make a profit - so why are you bothering to setup something that is expected to lose a million EUR a year ?

Where in the prospectus have you accounted for the costs and deposit requirements of your banking licences ?

IMHO it's a good 1st draft, but still needs a *lot* of detail and work:
You rely on the BTC 'price' growing too much - there is neither an expectation or g'tee this will ever happen.
There are better options for AML/KYC than a 75k licence - SaaS services from IFS for example.
74  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] CITM group buy#1 USB Erupter coupons on: September 07, 2013, 05:50:42 AM
I have 30 USB Erupter coupons for sale.
Asking BTC1.5 for all 30.
Price of USB Erupters with coupon is BTC0.15/each

30 miners without coupon - 5.1BTC
30 miners with coupon - 4.5+1.5 = 6.0BTC

It's not a discount if you pay more when using it Wink
75  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS [UK] 4 Module Avalon Batch 2 on: September 07, 2013, 05:27:00 AM
Looking at around 50BTC
50BTC would get you that same hashrate in USB-BE's and 1/20th of the running costs Smiley

ONO or payment in GBP, or part of each. Would prefer not to ship and can travel a bit in the UK if needed
I'll offer 2000 GBP cash on collection when I see it mining.
76  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [FS] All aluminum open air case for BitFury miners on: September 07, 2013, 04:23:43 AM
The BFs don't seem to run better without a whole lot of cooling, so I've simplified the design a bit.
If you're doing a v3 make it shorter than 475mm so it can fit in a rack between the posts -mounting the psu in the middle instead of 1 of the fans shoudl do it Smiley

It's sub $10/GH :p
78  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 04, 2013, 08:48:20 PM
So it seems that HMRC do have a view on BTC apparently (http://www.coindesk.com/hmrc-uk-bitcoin-exchanges-dont-have-to-register-under-money-laundering-regulations/), who'd have thought it - very progressive Wink. No word on VAT
The VAT situation is incredibly simple for good/services sold in BTC, it's just any other non-local currency.

80  Economy / Services / Buy Domain Names for Bitcoin - ICANN Accredited Registrar - win a BlockErupter on: September 03, 2013, 06:29:44 AM
On September 1st 2013, ICANN accredited domain registrar Astutium Ltd reached our 1st Anniversary of accepting BitCoin for domain names, virtual private/dedicated servers, minecraft hosting and related services.

A lot has changed in that year - not least the BTC/GBP exchange rate ...
a .co.uk domain for 2 years (inc VAT) is now just 0.0798 BTC - the first one we registered for BTC cost 0.355 !
(all our prices are in GBP and converted at time of payment).

To celebrate the 1 Year Milestone we have (in-hand) 50 ASICMiner USB Block Erupters to give away Smiley

How to get a free USB-BE ...

* Register a domain at https://www.astutium.com/domainchecker.php
( or transfer an existing gtld, or renew a domain already with astutium )
and pick BitCoin as the payment method.

* BitPay send us 3 emails during the confirmation of your payment
e.g. 2nd September for 1 paid invoice we have timestamped emails of:
  12:16, 12:24, 13:14

* If the HH:MM of any of those 3 exactly match a block found that day by P2Pool
  as verified at UKBMG P2Pool
  e.g. Mon Sep 02 2013 13:18:52 GMT+0100 (GMT Daylight Time)
^ Had that been found at 13:14 that domain registrant would have been a winner.

Want more chances to win ? It's really easy ....

1. Register more domains
because more paid invoices = more chances (3 chances per paid invoice)

2. Point your miners at our P2Pool (or your own)
because more mining on p2pool = more blocks = greater chance of matching.
   url - btcpool.ukbmg.com:9332
   user - your BTC Address
   password - anything

3. Take out other Astutium Services like Web Hosting, VPS, Servers and Colocation
any day in September that we take > 50BTC we will order another 50 miners to give away.

Get started now with your first domain registration at https://www.astutium.com/domainchecker.php

Small-Print
